I dunno, maybe I'm way off here, it just seems to me that there's a world of difference between 50 jumps and 100 jumps. The learning curve is still pretty steep that early on, at least I think so. Either way, starting BASE at 7 jumps...holy crap!! I admit right up front I've never done a BASE jump, but from pretty much every line of thought I've ever heard that's a bit, um, premature. Don't get me wrong, I've had some amazing pets, and to tell the truth, most of them are buried in my own families 'unofficial' pet cemetery. I just have a hard time justifying that much money on a dead animal when it could go to something much more worthwhile. Not to mention I'd freak if I went to a pet funeral, complete with a viewing and a casket. But like my Dad always says, it takes all kinds to keep things running. Of course, he also always tells me never to wear anything with my name on it because no matter how good I am every one screws up eventually. I'm sorry, everybody, if this offends someone who really loves their pet, but when I heard about this I only had one response, and it was as follows. *ahem* BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I mean, c'mon, I've been upset when pets have died, hell, I even cried when a dog I had died when I was 15, but this is just plain nuts. Anyhow, whichever way you swing on this one, hope you enjoy a little piece of insanity from my neck of the woods

I thought as much, just never sure. When I watched the movie it did actually take me back to student status for a moment or two. Watching their jumps and seeing them on radio was part of it, but you can tell they're still getting the hang of everything cause they don't even come close to grabbing rear risers during opening. As far as the movie being based in real life, I think I have to agree with you. As many parts of it as I laugh at there are a few more parts that are pretty accurate. BWAHAHAHA Yeah, it's a "great" movie. I always loved the packing scenes too, they're just fun. Another part I liked was Mr. Baldwin's first BASE coming after he'd made what seemed to be about 50 jumps. Of course he did spend all that time in the GK's wind tunnel...... Actually, one thing I noticed that I thought was cool in that movie is that several of the actors are wearing radios like maybe they actually flung themselves from the plane. Priceless! In the what to do in a high rise section it tells you "Listen for and follow instructions." Seems like that worked well for everyone who did it last time a high rise was attacked. Maybe they should have put 'Get the hell out of the buildig as fast as you possibly can." Seems like that might be a bit more sound. Truman Sparks for President

There was an interesting story on 60 minutes or 20/20 or 48 hours or someother news magazine show, I forget which one it was, about this. Very interesting, talked all about how they used to use dolphins but they didn't do so well in really warm ater temps so they switched to see lions. Even showed a practice run where one of the critters snared a diver. very cool, looked like the sea lion was having a blast. Truman Sparks for President
