HAHAHA, and not at the boy, at a memeroy he made me think of. I used to build houses for a living. One day we were setting up the inside walls of the house, which for all you non-contructiony people involves making sure they are straight by chalking a line and then lining up the wall with said line. My friend/coworker was nailing it down with the nail gun as we got it on the line. He decided to do a little adjusting of his own, nothing out of the ordinary there, but when he kicked the bottom to get it on line he slipped a bit and nailed his foot to the floor instead. I've pulled a lot of nails, but that's the one and only time I've pulled one out of a foot. Needless to say we laughed at him the whole time.

First my disclaimer: I'm not an instructor, I'm not a coach, I'm just a jumper. Now with that out of the way try this. Someone told me this and in some screwed up way it really helped me a lot. Of course I'm a little not normal at times. Anyway, have you ever done that thing when you were a kid where you relax your hand, especially your finger, and you can flick it with you r other hand and it just bounces around like it's not alive? Do that, then understand that you have to make a conscious effort at first to be able to do that with your body. Muscle memory takes practice, otherwise we'd all be black belts or something. Ok, now you can all laugh at me for that if you want, but it did actually help me relax when I first started.

I don't know much, folks, but this seems pretty straight forward to me. You can break it down into a flow chart almost, but since that's a pain in the ass, I'll just do a list. 1. If you're smoking pot or shooting up or whatever, fine, that's your business, but you know it's against the law (unless you're in Amsterdam or somewhere comperable) 2. A cop is supposed to enforce the laws that are on the books. We get a speeding ticket, we bitch, but odds are we were speeding. We get possession, odds are we were possessing. 3. While the laws may suck, the laws are, say it with me, the laws. I hate to quote Cutaway but they had it right. "If you're gonna play you're gonna have to pay." If you don't want to pay, either don't do it or minimize the risk and accept it when you get screwed. We skydive people, we know about acceptable risk. Now there are a few variables involved here, but they don't really matter. Did people know these NARCs were there? That's one, and if someone did maybe they should have passed the word. Maybe the word was passed and this person thought they'd be okay. Once again, accepted the risk. I could go on and on here, but the bottom line is, yeah it sucks the big one, but just ike we all kind of expect to have a malfunction some time, you're gonna get busted sometime. When you do, try not to hurt the DZ or the DZO in process. Truman Sparks for President
