Cypres 1 , 2 and tandem did fire during freefal ( Vigil 1 only on the ground ! ) , Had cutters and magnetics problems too ( near a radar in Thailand ) ...... but they haven't been grounded by either so ........ Hello, Here is a translation of a safety bulletin I received today from the syndicate of the French professional parachutist : During an opening ( symmetric and without special effort ) , lineset fully expanded, riser just getting down => spontaneous cut-away of the left riser . The tandem pilot cutted away manually the right one and will follow an uneventful RSL reserve opening and landing . The main canopy will be retrieved very quickly and after inspection , the left small white closing loop was completly missing . Closing loop too small ? Bad sewings ? It is still under internal investigation and UPT has been notified first . Libération manuelle côté opposé, ouverture du sac secours par le Stivens. Observations et analyse: Le matériel récupéré rapidement montre: sur l'élévateur gauche, absence totale du loop de bas d'élévateur vérouillant habituellement le "3 anneaux". Seule trace, un brin blanc à peine visible. Hypothèses: Soit le loop n'était pas ou mal fixé sous la platine textile le plaquant sur l'élévateur. Soit il était trop court et donc fixé sur une longueur insuffisante. Préconisations: Contrôle des élévateurs. L'hypothèse de sabotage est a priori exclue. J.Gamaury, Expert Judiciaire.
