There's a group going from the Taylorville, IL dropzone (MASPC). You might give Chad a call and see if you can hop a ride with someone. Life's the Pitts at Invertedair.com

Private pilots flying jumpers
donutair replied to BillyMongilly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Experience and training. Same thing as an A license vs. a D license. You want to do rw with someone who has 25 jumps or 500? Life's the Pitts at Invertedair.com -
Pitts Inverted Jumps scheduling for 2008
donutair replied to donutair's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I know it's early but I have to start thinking about my vacation time for next year. I'm starting to put together the schedule for the Pitts for next year. If you own a DZ or jump at a DZ and you'd like to have the Pitts Biplane there (and your somewhere in the midwest), send me an email and we'll see what we can work out. Want to thank all this years DZ's and jumpers and hope to see everyone next year. For some pictures and vids goto www.invertedair.com -

Jump the Pitts BiPlane at West Tennesee
donutair replied to donutair's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Sounds like a nice place. I am thinking I may have to make an east coast swing or something. I have had 4 invites from DZ's along the east coast and have turned them down due to the distance. The Pitts is not the most comfortable cross country aircraft and quite frankly it's not the most suitable aircraft for travel either. I did Houston last year (from central Illinois) and it took 7 fuel stops and a full day to get there. Sorry you can't make it to Mullins place (your gonna miss a great boogie). Hope to see you at one of the others I have scheduled though. Life's the Pitts at Invertedair.com -

Jump the Pitts BiPlane at West Tennesee
donutair replied to donutair's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Yeah... we learned a lot from the videos. Those two were the first times we tried it from the airplane. After the vids and the pics from the Houston Skyfest incident, we are extremely sensative to closing pins and flaps. The pre-jump brief is very involved now and we (I) stress how to properly stand up and get out of the airplane. We have spent alot of time talking with pilots from the Convention that did this for almost 15 years. This was not a new problem due to the tight confinement of the airplane. Pitts Biplane will be at Mullins at Wings Field, Memphis, TN Memorial Day boogie. Mike is having a Memorial Day boogie (5-25 through 5-28) and the Pitts will be there for jumps and rides (B-class license to jump). First event this season to jump the Pitts. Go to www.invertedair.com for the Pitts schedule and goto www.skydivekingair.com for details about the boogie. Life's the Pitts at Invertedair.com -

I need to check the aeronautical chart for the airport.... what's the field ? I'd like to go... it all kinda depends on how the weather shapes up. It looks like it's gonna be almost a full day of flying each way. I'll send yah a pm to work out the details. Life's the Pitts at Invertedair.com

NATE...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope to be there...I think J and I have to work out the details.. but.. it was a fun boogie, long flight home.. but a fun boogie. Do you know how far Houston is from Springfield? 7 fuel stops that's' how far.... On other subjects... I get asked about that incident alot. I think we need to get together and write the details down so we can remember it when we're old and grey. Life's the Pitts at Invertedair.com

Heyah J, It's Mark... and yep.. I remember all of yah. Definitely interested. I got the number and I'll give yah a call later today or over the weekend. Hoping to have some better vids this year. We didn't mount the vid cam last year and I'm regretting it. We've got some new lenses for the still cam (big dollar fisheyes) and hoping to get a new fisheye for one of the vid cams and working on mounting 3 cams on wings and cockpit. Trying to get boogies set up for this year so I'll give yah a call. Oh yeah... by the way... you got it right. I was holding on to the D-bag while I was inverted and manuevering the plane with the other hand during the skyfest deal. Remind me some time to tell the whole story. It's a bit long for the forum but it's entertaining after a couple of snorts of Celtic Crossing. Life's the Pitts at Invertedair.com

Just for the record... I was the pilot at Skyfest. The video was taken last year. Those are some of the first five that got to jump from the plane after we did the mod. Needless to say, we learned alot from those first 5 videos. We mounted a small bullet cam to the deck of the plane to critique possible problems. I think those vids are what gave me the heads up for what occurred at Skyfest and why that came out with such a good outcome. We learned alot since those first videos. Looking forward to more this year. Life's the Pitts at Invertedair.com

Would love to provide some of those pics... unfortunately didn't get any offerings... I don't think I should have to advertise for special rates for that.. I think it goes without saying doesn't it??????? Life's the Pitts at Invertedair.com
