That's Magot talk I suppose, telling it like it is. You could say though that if you like to take coffee breaks while packing and have a short attention span, keep it on. Nevertheless, there has been at least one save keeping it on, and I don't know of any deaths in BASE linked directly to the slider. i agree that it's one more snag point when it's down. Only one riser attached and the slider on can still save your life. It's happened already to a Hungarian guy in Italy. He posted a while back explaining what had happened but I forget which thread. If you're worried about that, keep it on. Personnally, if I don't need it, it comes off. it's really not that much trouble. The bums will never win Lebowski, the bums will never win! Don't know why you're getting so aggro or what point you're trying to prove, this is dropzonedotcom after all and you of all people should know better. I should probably post this in History and trivia or something. I met him in Pahokee end of 2001. The attached picture was taken early morning on the 31st of December of that year. I had gotten a phone call the previous day. My father had passed away and I had to return urgently to South Africa. I was walking around the dropzone, still somewhat in shock, and there was Jerry. We had quite a chat; I spoke about my father and he told me of the regrets he had regarding his kids. Glad to hear that he is getting to spend more time with them. I had about 70 odd jumps at the time and didn't realize then what a legend he is. I was on a very tight budget (was looking for packing work in fact) and was being very stingy with the little I had. A buddy of mine who had a serious skydiving accident (titanium and the like) told me that smoking dope really helped him with the pain. Yes, that's absolutely right. Here in Africa we have to deal with a lot of crap. The first attached picture addresses one of my main issues. Anybody interrested in helping out can PM me and should there be enough interest I will open a Paypal account and call it: "pocisadumass". I will personaly ensure that every cent donnated is spent on this issue and not deviated to fund AK 47's for some obscure central African war. The second is an insurance proposal for free climbers. Lots of small print there though. Ooops, I just accidently glued my eyelids closed with the cement for the B-17 kit I'm building. I hope I'm covered... Off a cliff known here as TM here in Cape Town. Ever so slight breeze from the back. Turbulence after opening, then further from the cliff, impossible to get down to the landing.
