Imagine the reaction if Obama had behaved like this.

Everything is in Revelations, when you need it to be.

I also think that health insurance is one of the major contributors to the problems with health care in America. However, what makes you think that having the federal government as the sole insurer will be any better? I'm not saying that won't be an improvement or that I could not support it. I'm just saying I don't have a lot of faith in the federal government to do any better job of it.

I know what you mean. Metrosexuals with pink hair driving Priuses and living on EBT cards and phony psych disabilities are a yuge problem around here.

8000 Ft Static Line Student Jump?
NewGuy2005 replied to bamber's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
If you use an 8,000' static line, what would your exit altitude be? 11,500'? You would need a jumpmaster with really big hands to manage it. Sorry! -

Do you think the eclipse will cause an earthquake? -
So, what have you made and what methods did you use? Dry, sweet, fruit? There is a lot of outdated how to information on the internet that will make some mead that is hard to like.
-
That must have been difficult. Good for you for having the discipline.

Hey folks The first Saturday of August is National Mead Day, in case you did not know. I celebrated by starting a 5 gallon batch of dry traditional. In case you don't know what mead is, here's what Wikipedia says: Mead (archaic and dialectal meath or meathe, from Old English medu) is an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey with water, sometimes with various fruits, spices, grains, or hops. The alcoholic content ranges from about 8% ABV to more than 20%. The defining characteristic of mead is that the majority of the beverage's fermentable sugar is derived from honey. It may be still, carbonated, or naturally sparkling; dry, semi-sweet, or sweet. Mead was produced in ancient history throughout Europe, Africa and Asia. Anyone out there make or enjoy mead?

John Irving Bloom: "Eccentric Orbits: The Iridium Story"
NewGuy2005 replied to ryoder's topic in The Bonfire
Interesting. Ever see an "Iridium Flash?" I did once. You can't miss it. -
I did. It's some pretty amazing flying.

^^^^^This.^^^^ How is no one outraged that he isn't doing his job? I, for one, am thankful he is not. .

Correct. When you are dealing with a liar, you are likely to get the opposite of what you were promised. Christians will get less religious freedom. Pro-lifers will get more abortions. Gun folks will get gun restrictions. Blue collar workers will get fewer old economy jobs. As far as touting the large number of executive orders as a sign of success, all that shows is that he will not be able to accomplish anything through normal democratic channels.

No. Not all of them have lied under oath. Not all of them have been under oath. But, as far as I can tell, all of them that have been under oath have lied under oath. Points for consistency!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks that. I think it puts graduation on par with a T-ball game.
-
In the last twenty years or so, when attending graduation ceremonies, I have noticed that when the graduate walks across the stage to receive their diploma it is common for friends and family of the graduate to cheer, whoop it up, and generally raise hell when said graduate's name is called out. Is this OK or is it not fitting with the occasion?

A perfect example of why I prefer to drive in almost any circumstance.

True! That might change a few plans!

I will pass it on to her. Thanks.

One of my daughters is graduating in May (suma cum laude!) and is wanting to work in Japan for a couple of years. She has taken all of the Japanese courses her school offers and has also spent 5 weeks in Japan taking another Japanese class. She is focusing on teaching English, but I'm sure there are other options I want to make sure she explores. Any suggestions?

I was listening to a podcast yesterday that stated that the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare is now seeing a spike in approval polls. The reason for this is that a large number of people who now receive their health insurance through the Affordable Care Act suddenly realize that the ACA actually is Obamacare, which they had previously demanded be repealed. In other words, they thought they were two separate things: The ACA which is for good Americans like me and you, and Obamacare, which is for welfare bums and illegal immigrants. Now that this realization is dawning on this very large group of people, the cries for repeal are getting a lot quieter.

CBO: TrumpCare, 24 million lose health care
NewGuy2005 replied to dorkitup's topic in Speakers Corner
There you go. Single payer gives us the ultimate group and everybody that pays taxes pays their fair share. However, can you trust the federal government to oversee this when incompetence, selfishness, and dishonesty is all you can count on from them? Think of the unintended consequences. The possibilities are "YUGE!"
