    I was in Coolidge some years ago after the military left and the Knights were training out there, but the only other people that were "allowed" on their airplane was a Swiss Team. j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

    I started in Minnesota/Wisconsin. You will experience a temperture inversion in the winter...It may only be 8 degrees on the ground, but it will be 15 at altitude. Yes, I jumped when it was 8 degrees to keep current and back then we didn't have nearly the warm (thin and warm) stuff they have today. Look for used gear and good luck!     Just a little FYI - if you plan on doing camera once you get up to speed, you have to buy a camera, camera helmet and accessories, not to mention most dz require you have your own editiing equipment.     My Cypres recently expired and I have not bot a new AAD. I am still jumping. Aside from my student jumps, my first 500-600 jumps were without an AAD. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

    In the beginning of my skydiving career, i cut off a porter on landing. This was a new/visiting airplane that could land before all the canopies (which I was not used to). The DZO came over and asked me if I saw the plane, I said "no", he told me what I did, I apologized to DZO and Porter Pilot (who was really really cool about it). I have not cut off any more airplanes in the last 15 years. Lesson learned: Not all aircraft descend slower than my canopy. j J Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

    Not me, but I have had dreams about others bouncing, but in one dream we were at couch freaks and everyone bounced but landed all lined up in a row and as I was running to help them, I was told don't worry about it they are all just drunk. j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

    I remember when Pete landed off at WTS, and I went to pick him up only to find him on the road trying to coax a copper head off the road so it wouldn't get run over. Pete was a good person to both man and beast or reptile in the case above. Definately one of the good guys. Blue Skies Pete!     I miss my soft openings and sweet landings I had with my batwing.....don't miss the line twists, though they usually made me start laughing...and mine was really ugly too!     Its difficult for some dropzones to rent you rig for the day, if they have a limited number. They need the rigs to put students up also and if they have a limited number of rigs they really need to make sure they are available for students. j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

    In West Tennessee we jump year round. You will need some warmer clothes on the colder days. I have been asked by someone looking to make a tandem skydive if we "freeze to death".
