UN weapons inspectors were working fine in Iraq. It's unfortunate that the US did not give them time to finish their job before unnecessarily invading the country. I respectfully disagree with you. Although you are entitled to your opinion Rhys, I think your path of thinking is significatly misguided. Obama is supporting the MOP production and will have to use it if he must. I understand that you are an Obama supporter, but what will you say about him if he must use the MOP on Iran? The principal was acting in accordance with a zero tolerance policy that came from the school board. You do understand the concept of ZERO, right? It goes back to why Realtors don't like family members seeing the prospective house with their clients. The family members want to feel like they saved their loved one from a bad deal......... Passing a law banning guns doesn't have a magical power to make them all disappear. If something did pass, they'd still have to collect all 250,000,000 of them from people, a daunting task. How would they know who had them? There's no central registration database for them. There is paperwork kept on file with FFLs, but I'm betting a lot of that would be "misplaced" if there was a ban. All that doesn't even consider that people might not be so willing to hand them over. That's just to get them from the law-abiding people. How do you go about getting them from criminals? They're certainly not going to give them up just because it's illegal. Hell, being a felon with a firearm is illegal already. Then you have to worry about the illegal gun trafficking from Mexico, etc.. It's pretty impractical no matter which side you agree with. I completely agree with you... it's not practical but I love to see if the anit-gun movement chimes in on such proposals. Here's how I see it.... if you ban guns, then armed robberies will be held with buck knives or tazers. It doesn't fix it, so unless anti-gun movements are willing to null and void the US Constitution (which that would be a bold and stupid proposal), guns will not be banned.
