So the 400D is outside of the US correct? The Rebel XTi is what's sold within the US then? How are the burst shots with this model? I was hoping to get something that can take burst shots around 2.5 - 3 frames per second. Is this tangible because I couldn't find the owner's manual online? Thanks for all of your input by the way. Here are the major issues with ANY bailout. #1 The government should not bailout nor take vested interest in free enterprise.... (if I have to explain why to someone opposing that, then you're a f**king moron!) Pay real close attention to this next one...... #2 When a government is operating in the red such as the House bank with it's trillions in deficit, then the government must borrow any funds to bail someone out. THUS.... mortgaging our future and the future of our grandchildren to pay the tab. These bailouts are NOT backed by cash securities. This dropzone is absolutely amazing and I can't wait to go back. I only wish they were here in Florida but it gives me a serious reason to move back to Ohio now. The DZO and staff are more then friendly with new faces and are extremely concious about safety. The DZ runway and landing areas run parallel to the Ohio river. It makes the scenery amazing. It's the only dropzone where you can make all three states in one skydive. Turn left and you're in Kentucky, turn left again and you're in West Virginia, turn left again and you're back in Ohio!!!! The local jumpers are super nice and always there to help out with visitors. There are no turbines (yet) but they do have two C-182's that are in absolute mint condition and well taken care of. They can run both plane at the same time for a larger group of fun jumpers. The packing areas are either under the tent outside or in the hanger by the lounge area. They sell GO FAST on site which is a major plus. I've been trying to get Deland to do that for a year now. LOL! The load organizing is easy and they offer rigging services as well. For being a smaller dropzone, they run just as well as Deland if not better. No chaos at this place..... just pure relaxing fun!!!!! If you live any where near South Point, OH (whether it be Kentucky or West Virginia) I would suggest you come support your local dropzone at Tri-State. A dropzone running this well at their size has the potential to expand into something even greater with the kind of DZO and people they have. Blue Skies Tri-State!!! I can't wait to come back!

3rd Presidential Debate 10/15/2008 Who won??????
SkyChimp replied to SkyChimp's topic in Speakers Corner
I am a McCain supporter and I thought McCain got him on content in this debate. However, Obama is a great Xerox copier salesman and he has a talent for being smooth. Obama is very eloquent when it comes to having a debate. I should've hired him to work for me at my company. I need someone with that kind of talent. McCain's detriment with debating is his stuttering. People take that as fumbling but that's simply how he speaks. Oh well..... the only poll that counts is November 4th so we'll see what happens. Here is an article from MSN Money this morning by Jon Markman. Another reason why it was a bad idea. The link and article are below.... http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Investing/SuperModels/its-a-great-time-to-be-afraid.aspx Loopholes in a 'joke' bailout Emilio knows all about the intersection of fear, lies and action. He worked as an energy trader for Enron back in the day, and lived to tell the tale. He now trades gasoline futures for a major refiner, and he chuckled at the spectacle of legislators appearing to believe they were stanching the credit crisis with their vote. "If you really read the bill, and understand how it will be interpreted, it's the scariest thing you ever saw," said the trader, who asked me not to use his real name. "These guys have no idea what they're unleashing." Emilio knows, because he learned from the master manipulators at Enron. For an example, he said, check out Section 113 of the bailout bill, titled "Minimization of long-term costs and maximization of benefits for taxpayers." This is the section that Congress haggled into the bill to ensure a payoff, via warrants, for citizens if mortgages purchased from banks are later sold for a profit. Yet Emilio says bank lobbyists snookered the government by sneaking in an exception under subsection 3a, "Conditions on purchase authority for warrants and debt instruments." The clause, titled "Exceptions -- De Minimis," states that any debt instruments worth less than $100 million won't trigger the payback provision. Emilio says that banks will simply issue their debt in tranches of $99 million or less, and avoid allowing the government -- and thus taxpayers -- to get a piece of the banks' profits. "It's a joke," he scoffed. Other traders who scanned the bill came to the same conclusion, through their own prisms, agreeing that the bill would provide only an illusion of action while failing to address the key problems facing the financial system: Too many houses will remain on the market; they were bought with too much leverage that is vaporizing in spurts; and those losses have left banks with too little capital from which they can lend. Even worse, the traders pointed out, the government can make money on the loans only if it pays so little for them that they can be sold at a much higher price. And yet if the government doesn't pay enough, then the banks won't receive enough to make a difference in their balance sheets. So here's how the taxpayers will be cheated, they said: Banks will take advantage of the suspension of mark-to-market accounting by stating that loans originally held at "par," or the equivalent of the purchase price, and now valued by the market at 20 cents on the dollar, will really be worth 85 cents if held until the loan matures. The banks will then sell the loans to the government at a fake discount of 75 cents on the dollar. "The lobbyists made sure this bill was rammed through so that these rip-offs couldn't be fixed in committee," said another trader. "Everyone on the Street knows it solves nothing." I found this on the AP wire this morning and thought it was interesting........ The area north of the Arctic Circle has an estimated 90 billion barrels of undiscovered, technically recoverable oil and 1,670 trillion cubic feet of technically recoverable natural gas, the U.S. Geological Survey announced Wednesday. The USGS said technically recoverable resources are those produced using currently available industry practices and technology. The Arctic accounts for about 13 percent of the world's undiscovered oil and 30 percent of the undiscovered natural gas, the USGS reported. "Before we can make decisions about our future use of oil and gas and related decisions about protecting endangered species, native communities and the health of our planet, we need to know what's out there," USGS Director Mark Myers said. "With this assessment, we're providing the same information to everyone in the world so that the global community can make those difficult decisions." The three provinces of West Siberian Basin, the East Barents Basins and Arctic Alaska are said to hold more than 70 percent of the undiscovered natural gas. Though the Arctic is virtually unexplored with respect to petroleum, the search for it has resulted in the discovery of more than 400 oil and gas fields north of the Arctic Circle. airdvr is right about that....... I don't see Europe getting so sensitive about political satire. America needs to get the sand out of their clit. The only people worse than us would be the Muslims!!! God forbid you make a joke about Muhammad, they'll bomb you or burn your house down. Yes it does.... However $109K as a retail price isn't very realistic for the middle class if you are claiming your car will create a "break thru" to solve economic conditions. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!

GM and Ford are currently considering bankruptcy options. They have financial issues because they banked on always selling large SUVs and pickup trucks. I hear Mercedes is getting ready to sell off Chrysler as well. OUCH Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!

Everyone who uses oil is responsible for using oil. Who is responsible for delaying a transition to alternative fuels and technologies? The energy and transportation industries and their pet legislators. I'm with you on that. We are all responsible but most of the time you just hear about America being the largest consuming country. Indeed. For example, the information available has led me to deduce that the best weapon for home defense is a sawed off shotgun. One need not be extremely accurate, it is effective at close range, and there is little risk of the shot goign through the walls, etc., and injuring people that way. That's not a fact. That's an opinion. Yes, the opinion of Prof. Gary Kleck, whose other opinions and extrapolations on self-defense are taken as gospel truth by the gun-o-philes. Most != "all". MOST drivers won't NEED their airbag or seatbelt on any given day. MOST skydivers won't NEED their RSL / AAD / reserve on any given day. The converse of that "proof" is that when you need it, you NEED it right THEN. You've spent umpteen posts recently talking about how Kleck had it all wrong - a bit hypocritical to suddenly use the same information as "gospel" only when it supports your argument, don't you think? My argument? What argument would that be? Not my fault if the guy you keep quoting makes statements like “there is little or no need for a gun for self-protection". Just in case any of those space aliens turn up on your doorstep. You're presenting this as if that is truth like the sky being blue during the day.......
