Bump. This earlier thread has nicely proven its validity as evidenced by the GOP Senatorial Traitors. How better can one show his disdain for America. The GOP Hates America. And the GOP Traitors are just the proof-of-the-pudding.

Spoken like a true conservative. 2,000 years behind the times!

Dude is not even in control of his own emotions. Not what I would call a professional. Why not just take a step back and be done with it. Kicking a hand-cuffed woman on the ground in the head. Real classy!! Takes a real law enforcement hero to do that!!

Each and every senator who did not sign the letter. And that includes seven GOP Senators. You named one... you only need to name 46 more. Starting... NOW... Chuck

Honestly, police shootings, school shootings. They are a daily occurrence in this part of the world. Not really worth reporting any longer. But some still stand out... Of course, the 12-year old kid in Cleveland that was really classy; Yesterday's shooting of a naked and unarmed man certainly deserves a medal of departmental honor; Honorary mention has to go to the Houston Police Department who shot a double amputee in a wheelchair because he was trying to stab the officer with a PEN!!!!!
-
This is nothing!!! You have to do better than that! Just yesterday, in my home town. Police shoots an UNARMED, NAKED Man. Dead! So, these days just moving towards an officer can get you the instant death penalty. Even if unarmed and naked!!!!! I mean it is not like one can hide a weapon when being naked. "Anthony Hill, 27, was shot and killed Monday afternoon by a DeKalb County police officer. According to police, Hill was naked, knocking on doors in the complex and crawling on the ground. Hill then allegedly ran at the officer, ignoring commands to stop, police said. Hill was shot by the officer, identified Tuesday as Robert Olsen, and died at the scene." P.S.: Am I late to the party???:)

Those Democrats have more guts and loyalty than those you are trying to defend!! "On Tuesday, Democrats took to the Senate floor to denounce the letter to Iran. Noting that she had opposed the war in Iraq under President George W. Bush, Senator Debbie Stabenow of Michigan, her voice shaking with rage, said, “I never would have sent a letter to Saddam Hussein.”

Bro'. You really need to stay on schedule with your medications! Otherwise you know what will happen: blue Unicorns will hunt you, and the neighbor's sunflowers will sing to you.

A Legislator is a citizen. And they were not acting in any official function. Anyways, I am sure somebody at the DOJ/DOS is looking into this with more expertise than we have. Unless that citizen is also a legislator who is acting in that capacity.

Perhaps relations with the Middle East are at an all time low, because of the condescending attitudes of Americans like Senator Cotton who thinks it is his responsibility to teach American civics to unworldly, uneducated Iranian negotiators. Perhaps Senator Cotton should use the same energy he is using to stymie the negotiations to give a civics tutorial to high school students in Arkansas. Start by teaching them who the Secratary of State is and then proceed from there. How many of your high school age constituents can even name their state senators? My guess is that the average Iranian student knows as much or more than the average Arkansas student about how a bill is passed in Congress. Your letter is proof that most of your constituents are really not to bright if you were their choice for Senator.

TREASON FOR TREASURE Republicans in Congress fear that a deal with Iran will mean sanctions on Iran will be lifted. Lifting sanctions means that Iranian oil will come back into the market; and oil prices will go down further. Low oil prices mean weak profits for domestic oil producers and the oil giants. Keeping Iraqi oil off the market with a war, started over fabricated accusations and ensuing hysteria, got the price of a barrel of oil up to $150 per barrel. Big oil cleaned up. Big oil will not let peace get in the way of profit maximization; political tension always provides a bump to the price of oil called a risk premium. You'll see Congressional support for positions that drive the price of oil to higher levels coming from areas that reap the benefits of the higher prices and from Congressional members who receive the most support from big oil. I call the strategy "Treason for Treasure".

Logan Act, which prohibits American citizens from communicating with foreign governments to conduct their own foreign policy.

The GOP stoops to a new low-insulting the intelligence of a hostile but not unwise group of Mullahs. A flawed textbook on US foreign policy isn't something the boys in Teheran needed. And a Freshman senator lead the charge. What's next? The Republican descent into madness continues!

I would gladly trade the 47 GOP Senatorial Traitors to Iran in exchange for Javad Zarif. Unfortunately, I don't think there will be any takers. We are stuck with this hazardous waste! "Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has published an official response to the Republican letter to Iran's leaders, signed by 47 Senators, warning that Congress or a future president might overturn a nuclear deal if they dislike the terms. (You can read the full text of the letter, organized by Sen. Tom Cotton, here.) Zarif's response is presented as an official government statement, so it's written in an awkward third-person, but Zarif still fires off some zingers. Here is the full text, with the most notable lines bolded (the main points are summed up below): Asked about the open letter of 47 US Senators to Iranian leaders, the Iranian Foreign Minister, Dr. Javad Zarif, responded that "in our view, this letter has no legal value and is mostly a propaganda ploy. It is very interesting that while negotiations are still in progress and while no agreement has been reached, some political pressure groups are so afraid even of the prospect of an agreement that they resort to unconventional methods, unprecedented in diplomatic history. This indicates that like Netanyahu, who considers peace as an existential threat, some are opposed to any agreement, regardless of its content. Zarif expressed astonishment that some members of US Congress find it appropriate to write to leaders of another country against their own President and administration. He pointed out that from reading the open letter, it seems that the authors not only do not understand international law, but are not fully cognizant of the nuances of their own Constitution when it comes to presidential powers in the conduct of foreign policy. Foreign Minister Zarif added that "I should bring one important point to the attention of the authors and that is, the world is not the United States, and the conduct of inter-state relations is governed by international law, and not by US domestic law. The authors may not fully understand that in international law, governments represent the entirety of their respective states, are responsible for the conduct of foreign affairs, are required to fulfil the obligations they undertake with other states and may not invoke their internal law as justification for failure to perform their international obligations. The Iranian Foreign Minister added that "change of administration does not in any way relieve the next administration from international obligations undertaken by its predecessor in a possible agreement about Irans peaceful nuclear program." He continued "I wish to enlighten the authors that if the next administration revokes any agreement with the stroke of a pen, as they boast, it will have simply committed a blatant violation of international law." He emphasized that if the current negotiation with P5+1 result in a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, it will not be a bilateral agreement between Iran and the US, but rather one that will be concluded with the participation of five other countries, including all permanent members of the Security Council, and will also be endorsed by a Security Council resolution. Zarif expressed the hope that his comments "may enrich the knowledge of the authors to recognize that according to international law, Congress may not modify the terms of the agreement at any time as they claim, and if Congress adopts any measure to impede its implementation, it will have committed a material breach of US obligations. The Foreign Minister also informed the authors that majority of US international agreements in recent decades are in fact what the signatories describe as "mere executive agreements" and not treaties ratified by the Senate. He reminded them that "their letter in fact undermines the credibility of thousands of such mere executive agreements that have been or will be entered into by the US with various other governments. Zarif concluded by stating that "the Islamic Republic of Iran has entered these negotiations in good faith and with the political will to reach an agreement, and it is imperative for our counterparts to prove similar good faith and political will in order to make an agreement possible."

Students at California college bans US flag from lobby
mpohl replied to BillyVance's topic in Speakers Corner
How boring a life you must lead. Why don't you concern yourself w/ things closer to home, and that you can actually grasp. Why concern yourself w/ California, if all you will ever know is Alabama. Isn't it squirrel hunting season yet? -
Let's see if you can muster as much passion for immigrant rights. So I suggest you turn around and tell any 9th generation off-spring of Irish potato farmers that it is wrong to ask fellow Americans to leave the US because they do share the same ultra-conservative views and values. Intolerance is un-American!
-
Where did I say that? Are you trying to follow into the foot steps of Thomas Christina? I break Billy's balls all the time. But this is something entirely different and on a whole new level because you aren't just breaking his balls but you have suggested that deaf people are stupid and inbred. I suggest you reconsider the statement

Yes. Google it. Plus we know that inbreeding vastly increases the frequency of genetic defects/ diseases. Seriously?
-
I can't picture you traveling to "Socialist" countries like Belgium or the Netherlands. The horror!!!! Why do you do that to yourself? Wouldn't some country with a nice, right-wing dictatorship (torture, police abuse, etc.) be a much better fit for you? P.S.: I forgot! You can get all of this at home!!!
-
It also urges us to defend our freedoms. P.S.: Reminds me. Do you have a passport?
-
I have an American passport just as you do. Assuming that you even have a passport! So, you are telling this American to leave his country because he does not agree with your views? Interesting; you have a very peculiar read of the constitution. But we know that. P.S.: 9th generation? Hereditary deafness and diminished mental capacity are genetic diseases that can result from inbreeding.

Bingo. If five guys can't keep one guy under control, they are grossly undertrained or incompetent. Or both. Or maybe they were just looking for a kill that day. If recent history is any indication, there will be no repercussions. These days, all US citizens are free game to law enforcement. Shoot an unarmed 12-year old kid. No problem. Asphyxiate a street vendor. No problem. Get called to a domestic violence situation: first shoot dog, then when owner gets upset, kill him, too. And the list goes on, and on, and on...

I agree! But the fact is that this country has been hi-jacked by the 20%. That includes the 1% of outsized wealth, and the 19% of uneducated followers. And another 31% of religious fervents, "follow the leader,", exceptionalists, etc. In a winner-takes-all society, 51% is 100%. P.S.: What really went wrong with the GOP over the last 20-30 yrs is this: they are no longer representing the best interest of Americans. And keep in mind: Americans that didn't vote for them are still Americans! They are just beholden to their sponsors and ideology. Nothing else matters to them.

As far as the smelly fish goes...take a shower and clean your manhood. Problem solved. Much like your posts here You'd think he'd just get up and go back where he came from. All that bitching and whining about America. We have no clue where he is from (located), he hasn't filled-out his profile. For all we know, he could be from a farm in England or some steamy city in the Orient. I smell a fish! Chuck

Well, well, well... Those 20% of GOP radicals certainly have an outsized influence on my personal life. Like Citizens United, ACA, etc. Case of tail wagging the dog? And tell that to the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis, Afghans, etc. "Americans are a generous people," love peace, and don't support the GOP and its militaristic foreign policies. Gimme a break. Much like your posts here You'd think he'd just get up and go back where he came from. All that bitching and whining about America. The GOP isn't "America", much as it would like its supporters to believe that it is.
