I would go for the Icarus! The A2 flies like a steamboat... I would rather take a Sigma main than the A2... The openings (i had with the A2) was good.. The Icarus seems to be more aggresive, in my opinion at least... More responsive might be a better word for it.. But when it starts twisting, it sucks... It can be really fucking hard to get it out, if possible at all... But hey... All chutes have pros and cons... If everything seems under control.. You're just not going fast enough..!

Student time: Raven III Raven IV Manta Navigator Then Spectre 190 Sabre2 150 Sabre2 135 Vengeance 120 Katana 107 And now Vengeance 120, Spectre 120, CF Storm 97 and Icarus Tandem... And some random jumps here and there on other gear... Crossfire2 109, Sabre2 120, Mamba 104... If everything seems under control.. You're just not going fast enough..!

The packers at Kolomna are pretty fast, but you have to set your brakes, do your slider and pilotchute yourself... With that done I seen it packed sup 3 mins... My own pack speed on a good day is around 5 mins... Fastest i can recall is a 5 mins 41 sec on a tandem that was needed on the following load... Timed by our DZ manager... If everything seems under control.. You're just not going fast enough..!

A packing cord in the biggest rings while flaking might do the trick... Otherwise.. Is it an older canopy? We had a couple of canopies here that got chopped "often", then relined and the twisting problem was gone.. If everything seems under control.. You're just not going fast enough..!

Thats what we tell our tandem instructors! Its such a rare occurrence that its OBVIOUSLY not our fault. We tell em that they should stop spinning on deployment, train their students better, etc. Thats my word and I'm stickin to it! Same here mate... We have a tdm-master here with the right mentality (that's not how you spell it, right..) "You shouldn't complain about your opening.. Be happy you got one.." If everything seems under control.. You're just not going fast enough..!

Heya! Reaching the point, where I want to buy a still-camera... A friend of mine suggested to buy the Canon eos 450d... So i just want to ask you, the wonderful more experienced photo-skydivers if that would be a wise choice? Should i go with an older model instead, or something like that... Never used still in freefall before... So totally new in this area as well as all the other areas of video flying... The camera will most likely be topmounted, since my video is a side mount... /DoZ3r If everything seems under control.. You're just not going fast enough..!

Just gonna come with a late reply for my own little tread here... Bought a Rawa... And love it... :D So now i just need to figure out the lens and aim... :P C ya in the blue! If everything seems under control.. You're just not going fast enough..!

I can honestly say that Spectre is my favorite canopy..! No discussion! The canopy is awesome, especially considering openings.. The most forgiving thing I've jumped.. Had some *SLAM* openings on my old Sabre2 in Russia... I started jumping a Spectre 190, the first canopy that was my own, therefore -> Pure love! After that I spend a year and 200 jumps in a Sabre2 before again jumping a Spectre... The one i borrowed from a friend of mine was a Spectre 135, and I still love it, even toe he needs it back.. Only did like 15 jumps in it, but the way a spectre flies.. Wauw! And the openings... My experience is that even the most crappy packing gives a good opening on a spectre... (At least compared to my old Sabre2, which i still like..) Simply: Try it!

Sidemounted, indeed... Have a cam, which destiny is to skydive... So just asking for some advises in which helmet to get.. If everything seems under control.. You're just not going fast enough..!

Heya! Kinda guess that the subject isn't really saying a lot... I would like to go into camera flying... Mostly freeflying at the moment since that is what I am doing at the moment... The Rawa Image thing is probadly the most used helmet for video on my local dz, so therefore I would also like one of those... But the real question is... Is there any good alternatives to the Rawa, that I should check out before buying? /DoZ3r If everything seems under control.. You're just not going fast enough..!
