  1. Sadly zippers dont always take well to the packing and other 'abuse' we put them through. Shoot an email to PF and Customer service will send you replacement rider (which any rigger can switch/replace in under a minute) for free. A bit repetituve, but mailing PF instead of posting to a forum to complain does increase the odds of your issue getting spotted and sorted out immidiately. Use info@phoenix-fly.com and you'll find out why good customer service is something Robert is widely known and recognized for. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/video/bird-man-floris-kaayk-defends-flight-hoax-as-dream-15988283 Am feeling a bit weirded out by the guy also being a 3D Animator, and also choosing the name Jarno for his 'birdman' project JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. I just got contacted by German TV if I want to talk about 'my' wing project haha JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. Aside from guessing to which VFX vendor in holland did the animation, I dont have many other uncertainties about this one haha... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. Must be the name... Though call me a sceptic, I'm waiting for his big announcement of a public flight on April 1st *edit* Browsed a few news reports. His 'self made' wings seem to just be a normal kite with a piece cut out the center. image and most of his communications are linked to Red Bull. I'm sticking with my april fools theory, though gladly hope to be proven wrong JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. The foam is actually easily removable. There is a double layer of fabric you can peel back, which than allows for sliding the foam out of the pocket. Its in there tight, but its easily remove-able. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. On all PF suits that offer the Performance Foam, its main function is to provide a smooth leading edge and also marry the sleeve nice and tight against the arm. The foam is cut on the inside to match the curve of the arm so all moves with the arm also translate directly to the wing and there isnt a delay due to a loose fit. The attached picture of a Venom shows how the leading edge looks in flight. Even with a sub-optimal arm position, like a slightly bent elbow (not in the attached pic) the leading edge will look clean. I have quite a few jumps on the Phantom3, Shadow2, Venom and a few other new things we're working on, and in all I personally prefer the feel (thats even outside of the actual performance gain) of the foam inserts over that of a normal sleeve. It seems to make my flying a lot more crisp and clean. Combined with the good inflation it also seems to relieve a bit of pressure from the arm in terms of keeping it open/stretched on longer flights. Here is a clip of the shadow2 with the same performance foam option http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hU1x4c0EED4 JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. Its not an issue on 99% of all V4s out there. But like any product, every once in a while there is one that doesnt behave as it should. In that case we try and get the issue resolved. To the OP, Robert commented you had notified him previously the issue was fixed. If you can get back to him, and further elaborate we can sort out the issue directly with you. As direct contact with the manufacturer who can assist is always quicker than posts on a forum. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. There was a small problem with a few production models due to some some small variations in how the leg-inlet was constructed by one of our workers. Contact PF directly via info@phoenix-fly.com and we will fix/update your suit free of charge to the production standard that PF is known for. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. Another event addition, Robert Pecnik will also be attending, for those interested getting coaching or picking his brains on proximity flying and BASE/performance flying. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. I just finished editing the video on the awesome wingsuit event we had at Australian Skydive (Bridgewater, Australia) last January. Had a lot of fun flying, and had a great time editing! Hope you guys and girls like it! Vimeo.com For those interested, November we are going back to Australia for 2 great events in a row. Nice warm weather, great facilities and fun flying with a lot of individual attention for everyone's skills. We're doing 2 events in a row running from November 3 to November 19th (with a few days in between) with all kinds of cool things, including a jump-in at the Ocean side! Check out the event pages on facebook for more details and info. 2nd PF Bridgewater Wingsuit Camp Nagambie Full Moon Boogie JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. The Cineflex camera operator is Evert Cloetens, a skydiver from belgium. He also has no clue what it is we're looking at. Though the dropzone of Texel is nearby, its not wingsuits (sadly). Though we do have some awesome Cineflex shots as part of the German 'Deutchland von Oben' TV series (this UFO was accidently caught during the making of the Dutch version). More on that online in a month or two JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. I guess a bit similar to the approach some swoopers use(d). Fast through the gates, than flare (close) to stall as high up as they can and than glide it out... And quite similar to the wingsuit GPS competition techniques as well. Lots of energy put in (be it through a dive) than flare close to (or even into) stall and than slowly start flying again. The graphs show similar peaks... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  15. This guy has his eye set on a P3 and asks if thats a good idea. The full post you link to applies to that. Picking a phantom wont dissapoint and last a whole ws career. Regardless of preferred sub-dicipline..acro, time, distance, flocking or base... So in reply to the OP, yea...great choice.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qegg5xuaEnQ&feature=plcp&context=C34ccdc9UDOEgsToPDskKmwujWOc1HNUk25vsnNp2a This is a guy with 19 wingsuit jumps in a shadow (acro version of a phantom). Ive got 1500 wingsuit jumps and the suit still suits all my needs for agressive acrobatics, fun solos or relaxed flocks. Regardless your focus, its a suit thats fun and a suit that lasts a whole wingsuit career. And if you do switch at some point, resale vallue is pretty solid or simply use it for friends starting out as a loaner. Not much one can do wrong with a P2/3 in your gearbag. A lot of vallue for your money. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. I also like the camera thread on the bottom of the ROAM. I actually use it a lot on my normal camerahelmet, when i cant be bothered to bring my CX100 on a trip with all the charging cables/lens etc. For sure qualitywise not the best compared to a 'real' camera or DSLR. But Im more than happy with it, especially at the price they are selling it for. Colorwise I also just correct most footage the same way. Always a tad of extra blue and lesser yellow/reds. 18. Though for sure harder or softer inflation makes some difference in flying fatigue, people coaching tend to put a bit to much emphasis on what it does to ones flying. In the end its your body, arms and legs flying, and how they behave determines how the suit flies. Having cell pressure be a bit harder or softer will not magically turn unstable flight into stable flight, not will it make one fly faster or slower to a formation. Similar to going from an older wingsuit such as a classic to a newer (any brand) suit. There will be a different feel. And maybe (depending on skill, build, suit etc) variations in how stable or easy it flies. But the ideal thing to do is forget about the inflation. When you're in freefall, you want to just be busy flying the suit. Not worrying in the back of your mind if you have the suit configured wrong. In general, low cell pressure makes it easier to pull. Something you probably want for your first jumps on the suit. If you cant find the pilotchute the first time. Go back into a stable flying position, than reach your hands (symmetry!) as far back under your rig as you can (past the BOC) and than slowly move back towards the pilotchute. You'll find it easier that way. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. Ive never badmouthed anyone who flew, or did anything. In fact Ive dedicated a lot of free time, money and effort into trying to push for better and better standards as well. So far for about 10 years that Ive been flying wingsuits. Criticizing a judging standard is NOT criticizing the actual accomplishment. That first 71 way was just a big a feat, as the 68 way. Outside of the standard it was judged by. Just as the current submitted formations are praise worthy. Regardless if its a 4 way, 10 way or 25 way. It may be sad to see a new record be smaller than past ones. But the improvement cant always be a numbers thing. Quality has to go up as well. And I guess thats what last years change/update did. And it means people have to work harder. Again, not saying previous formations where bad (for those ready to pounce), but only saying the new ones are going to be flown closer. People need to stop playing martyr and dare to set the bar higher and higher every time for other aspects than just 'numbers'. I hope this progress is a good step towards a standard that sticks. I know we've been busy within the IPC as well (with a lot of good input from you as well), and can only applaud whats happening everywhere. Regardless if its a 68 way or a 4 way. Its moving forward. 20. Again no games, no conspiracies. The PM to 'some people' (Onmia) was a direct quote from a FB post on the subject. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm also simply watching this from the side-line, though severely enjoying the show. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. Where was all this uproar from your side and others when the Grid was proposed to the USPA and IPC without ANY community input? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  24. Ive read statements that USPA will announce updates/changes on their website soon. Seems like you need to learn and be a bit more patient, instead of searching for decoder rings JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. this usual suspect is just sitting here laughing remembering people saying 'we need records now, doesnt matter if they are not perfect cause we can change them later'. This is the result of that impatience..congrats to the new USPA record holders!! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
