  1. Noop...they are not. When they are not put in a huge wingsuit, and when they get an actual proper briefing on what to do. No issue at all. Similar to a line-over for an AFF student. Its for sure an annoying thing to happen. But its not an issue that warents a change in gear design. It just means students need good training. Similar to big suits. When you fly a big suit, make sure you have the training AND experience, and you should be able to deal with anything. If you can't. uhm...jump a smaller wingsuit? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. Its funny to see that the guy in the tunnel flies in a position we DO see in some flocks. And actually has NO forward speed at all. Still a massive suit. But aside from a bit slower fallrate, he could probably do the same tunnelflying in a classic.... Like said before....suits grow...people bring more weight to compensate. yet performance in groups seems to be stuck at the same level... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. In case of asymetry or bent legs, I could also see a stabilizer like that powering/adding to instability/turn direction. Seeing as most big surface wingsuits don't have full airflow over the lower legwing, the only place where such a tail/rudder would have effect would be the bottom section. Which is the exact place where it would mostly contribute to drag as well (judging how thick it would have to be, if you want it to be made of inflating materials). The only suits seemingly needing such a stabilizer would be the 'square' shaped ones that are known for stability issues. Why not look other directions than 'upsizing' and creating 'fixes' for the instability such upscaling gives us? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. Wingsuitnews.com has a google calender with EU/US events as well. Ill be updating it again coming week... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. And another 10 lines of your online ego boosting games...yet no answers or even suggestions... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. So why give the illusion you know what 'might have' happened, when you have no actual details or input to offer on what may have caused the issues? The people with the experience and knowledge to deal with this equipment and situation have all been involved from the start (even during the event). In terms of GPS use (switching them on, location on jumper etc) this event was 100% identical to A LOT of other events held in EU, where none of the issues happened. These where the same units used in Italy, Gransee, Hungary,Holland etc etc. Operated in the same way. The information you seem to miss is all in the thread above. The units had been switched on in the morning to aquire signal. Had been switched on in the plane a couple of 1000 ft before jumprun, as well as switched on on the ground before boarding. With similar results. Regardless of where the units had been switched on. So in typical Campos fashion, you rather type 10 long posts on the reason why you DON'T mention any actual information, instead of a simple one that names a few reasons Queue next response with explanation for not explaining? 7. Just checked out the footage of myself shooting past the balloon at 1000 fps. So awesome we got this to happen! The Venom looks sexy when cruising by the camera at 1/40th the speed! Hope to have something online to show mid next week! Donald! You rock! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. The units used are the same ones used in Hungary, Gransee, Holland etc for other competitions, and used the exact same way. Regardless of placement, switch on (they all aquired signal on the ground first) they didnt aquire a fix untill 30 to 40 seconds after exit, or often not at all. The graphs showed insane spikes of up to 4000 kmh forward, glide up to 9:1 (without dive/flare) and freefall times of nearly 2 mins within the altitude window in some extreme cases. The graphs showing no spikes, no weird peakdata (insane glide preceding without dive/flare etc) where the only onrd used in scoring the final results. Luckely it was a pretty obvious thing to see in the results, as also Klaus confirmed over skype with Lurch files sent to him as an example. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. I used to own one, and the PC was nearly 5 inches higher compared to the longer Vortex 2 (Pisa) and Vector 3 (UPT) I also owned before/after. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. Though wings makes nice containers, their short/fat design (similar to a mirage) makes other containers with a flatter/longer design (putting the PC handle a few inches lower) much more desire-able... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. Scarry close... Full flight relative flying is the same fun, but much safer than these sharp banking/diving turns. Great video, but try and not be the bug on a windshield... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. I'd estemate a good meter and a half away. His footage didnt show any tailwing near his head. But for sure always worth noting safety on wingsuit exits and low tail aircraft... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. I personaly dont think its unfair someone has a healthier lifestile than me. The statement was only: light people easier set slow fallrates. Especially when putting them in smaller suits. Distance and speed are slightly less build dependant. Jetlag and this discussion aside. Lets fly! See you all on the DZ in 45 mins or so! The speech was recorded and will be uploaded broadcast via the livestream from what I got. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. Hungary has been held more times than just last year Skilled flyers in huge suits with a good flare can set record times for sure. But Id love to see them do a minute plus in a small suit, within the comp window. Alexey (who isnt heavy, but normal build, and not a skinny guy) did less time in his Apache (59 seconds) than Martijn Maas in his Phantom (61 seconds). In distance Alexey won. Martijn in that same huge suit (and skinny build) would/could set slow sustained fallrates you and I could only dream about. For sure low weight is a huge advantage, as the above example shows. Which is what DSE mentioned. Time does favour lighter people. And when you combine light build with a good suit, and great skill you get close to 90 second 1st time I can only brag about to whuffo's, but never actually do myself JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. Glide ratio is actually not affected by weight, and though sure PPC ranking has a the same trained flyers in the ranking, and SOME of them are lighter people, many comps have had severly heavy flyers scoring first over skilled tall and skinny ones. Hungary has had quite a few top 3 heavy folks (and doesnt include a time element in the competition). Unlike fallrate, glide ratio is an constant where all play equal (outside factors such as wind aside). So for sure not just 'my opinion' but actual actual scientific fact. Also the speed round wins are by far dominated by our more ground-hungry companions, and seemingly quite equal for people of all builds. Every element has a certain degree of build come into it, but scores like these are close to impossible for a heavy person, while in glide and speed competition is certainly a more leveled battle field. As to sleeping...as soon as all FlySights check out as 'full' Im gonna do so... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. Looking at time, it IS the one dicipline most linked to good build, while speed and distance less favour those less sensitive to gravity... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. Wind also affects distance. But for both its only relevant in the absolute ranking online. Among the competitors at this or any comp, wind is almost the same for everyone, so not that relevant. No skill in diving like an AFF student? 1.5 is better than most flocks, and even there the angle and recovery are far from exact with regards to how much speed you generate. People at the same event, same suit, same angle, score hugely different results in speed due to different body possition, recovery etc. No skill? Far from it.... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. I think both this and our Dutch comp will feature the more complete PPC version next year. This 'best 2 out of 5' seemed like a fun first go. And indeed, this time more weight won't hurt. Though looking at the PPC page, few of the top scores in speed actually are heavy people...several are actually tiny light people in small suits... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. If you see me fly underneath doing 360 on my back thats not a sign of good forward speed Video will be up in a week or two when back from USA JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. Robert and myself have been to a few of these as well Touchdown in LA. A special secret adventure tomorrow, and than Elsinore in the early evening! See you all there! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. The factory keeps accurate logs of what they do. Butt by all means PM names so we can find the missing people. Ive so far only seen people here returning suits with the opposite problem, sleeves going 10 cm past the hands etc. But that wasnt on ours JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. probably another manufacturer, the PF facility has had zero returns the last year from Norway. Aside from one V3 costumer who gained a few KG over the years, and wanted a little extra room.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. No need. You show perfectly well that understanding physics doesn't always mean you actually know how to apply it to real world phenomena. Just make a single, actual, close proximity wingsuit formation jump and compare the two. Not talking that '10 ft distance' record stuff. But close flying. Report back...those who have will actually laugh at you in your face when you land... Shame you choose a skydivers over 60 non-wingsuit event over the opportunity to actually experience the above yourself... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. So now (the point MANY people try to get you to realise) flying your big suit with lead at 40% next to a person flying a small suit at 90%. You realize you give of a much wider wake than that same person in a smaller suit? No bees anywhere trying to sell suits. But outside sales, trying to discuss an actual fact which you many times brushed aside with boring/endless conversations on wingload JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. You took a statement about angle of flight and glide-ratio, and didnt realise or think of any other options than legs on the butt flying or diving to a formation. Yes...that correctly makes me assume you didn't think of any other option. No need to again insult with the word ass pushed into the conversation. You showed again and again insulting and stirring up a fight is your only game/intent. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
