Just found out that my company is sending me to vegas on "business". I live in aus so I've never been able to get in a tunnel, anyone know of a tunnel in vegas??? if so any details would be great. From my experience Whuffo's never see skydiving as a real sport. About as close as I've got is a whuffo saying "Ohh so you can like move around up there and make shapes". This is a question regarding one of my friends who is about to be off student status who is damn light and soon to be lookings for a first rig. We have asked around the drop zone and everyone has the same response which is "Ohhh maybe a 150 but fuck thats small for a first rig!!!" I'm 75 kg and I fly a 170 at 46 kg I imagine a 170 would be a prety boring and long ride down. any thoughts??? By the way I realise the DZO has to approve. I've got similar jump numbers to you and I've taken part in jumps up to 6 ways and I feel pretty comfortable but I also turned down the opportunity to go on an eight way mainly because I didn't want to be the one to fuck seven other people's jump. I've found smaller ways are better for me at this stage, it feels heaps better getting through a bunch of points with three or 4 ways than just barely pulling off one or two on something bigger. So Once again i heard something at The DZ and i've put the statement to you guys to clarify or laugh your asses off at me. A clown at the DZ was telling me that before a storm you can get an extreme updraft known as "cloud suck". If you were to open a parachute in these conditions you would be pulled back up to altitud. The guy who told me this is a very experienced jumper but he has messed with me in the past. so I leave it too you guys. Hey guys, i've got about 50 jumps and since completeing my A I've been dowing RW fun jumps (between 2 and 5 ways) and I have fallen in love with it. recently a couple of guys with between 25 and 200 jumps have been throwing the idea around of starting a 4 way team and a experienced jumper also asked me and my buddy if we'd like to do a 3 way team. I would like to improve and i was wondering if this was the best way to go about it or if I'm better off just doing RW with whoever is around and willing to jump. I was at the DZ on the weekend and a couple of guys were telling me about a new reserve system which can have you cut away and under a reserve in 100 feet. Aparently there is a promo video of a base jumper cutting away at 100 feet and landing safely. Does anyone know anything about this product? Why is it that The HDV is not actual HD? It records in 1080i by definition it is High defenition, you could say that there is a quality diffenence between Mini hdcam and Hd cam but that is more a matter of whether it is broadcast quality, not whether it is true HD.
