  1. ~Re-enlist and then accept a direct commission ~Smell fear ~Freedom is never free
  2. To give you a little perspective, my first hop n'pop was on my first pack job (jump 9)...talk about hebegebees, it all worked out fine and I was glad I got it out of the way. Stay with it, good luck ~Freedom is never free
  3. If you are in the reserves, chances are you will be active duty again in no time. If you are in the Navy then you might be fine since they mostly take individual augmentees . Good luck with staying free. ~Freedom is never free
  4. What comes around, goes around. You did the right thing and you know it, if he didn't appreciate it then thats his problem. gg ~Freedom is never free
  5. Thank you for posting that, it's good that someone takes the time to tell the story. ~Freedom is never free
  6. You did a tandem for your 200th? I have never done a tandem, did it feel weird after 199 jumps to not be in control. I don't think I could ever do that. Congrats on your 200th ~Freedom is never free

  8. Jump number are important for experience and all that good stuff but everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves, specially in a boogie. I think the key is to keep groups small and the jumps not too crazy and everyone will feel welcomed and learn from more experienced jumpers and have fun while you do it. It is sad when a skydiver flat out says "no, you can't jump with me because you don't know what you are doing" ~Freedom is never free
  9. Well I'm also in the military and it is pretty easy to fix, get with your superiors and they can do something about it if he is just a slob. Or you can just beat him up.. ~Freedom is never free
  10. I think you have to go mostly with feel, if you feel air hitting you in the face then you're leaning forward. Your lower body should take all the relative wind, keep your arm movement to a minimum, use your legs. It is hard to describe anything on here with words, your videos should tell you how much do you need to adjust, once you get it done right you will feel the sweet spot, and it is really easy to duplicate. Like riding a bike or riding other things. ~Freedom is never free
  11. I think you should find a new roommate, it is obvious that one doesn't respect anything or anyone ~Freedom is never free
  12. Reminds me of my AFF training, couldn't go mostly because of wind, took me like 3 months of constantly going and not jumping, until one day the weather was good and I pretty much spent all my money to get as many levels done as possible. And now I find myself praying for a little wind... Hang in there, it will all be worth it.. ~Freedom is never free
  13. Very nice, congrats! Isn't it nice to jump your own gear, good investment in my opinion...enjoy ~Freedom is never free
  14. Ireland last week for R&R ~Freedom is never free
  15. Well I have been jumping at this DZ for 2 years now and I just forgot to come here and post a review. If you are a first time skydiver and are planning to start off with a tandom, you will like this place, if you are an AFF student be prepared to be grounded because of winds but one you do get to jump the staff is great and very experienced. I consider this to be my home dz and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
  16. I went to z-hills last year for Christmas and I loved it, although we got a bit of rain they get the planes up soon after it stops. Facilities are great and so its the bonfire. Met a bunch of Europeans that were visiting and I can't wait until this year's Christmas boogie, I will be there again.

  18. Good job LT, and I know you will not mind too much if those Air Force guys call you Capt, it is better than having a Navy guy call me LT.... Keep up the good work ~Freedom is never free

  20. This being my first time to Ireland I had to have a taste of some good ol’ Irish fun so I had to go visit the IPC. I drove there from the Dublin airport and it took my a bit over an hour to get there. I will highly recommend renting a talking GPS unit from the rental car place to make your life a lot easier. I don’t think I could have found it just using a map, they did however give me good directions when I requested them by email. Once I arrived I received a warm welcome by the staff, got my rig inspected and manifested. Even though it rains a lot, they don’t hesitate to get a load up in between rain showers. The food and facilities were phenomenal and the vive was pretty good too. If you are planning on visiting Ireland and want to get some jumping done don’t hesitate to visit this place. They are a bunch of crazy funny people there, go check them out. I will certainly go back someday.
  21. 4 days until my vacation to Ireland!!! Hope it doesn't rain ~Freedom is never free
  22. Congratulations! Enjoy it ~Freedom is never free
  23. Just like the other guys say, don't forget to have fun. Also, if you don't feel comfortable you should probably jump solo and try to get the hang of your new suit...when I first jumped my brand new FS suit, it felt really weird with booties a and such but after a few jumps it was much easier... Good luck and blue skies ~Freedom is never free
  24. They killed Myspace about 4 months ago here. However, just like anything else, if you know the right people with the right connections you can get still get on it...just not on gov't computers. ~Freedom is never free
