  1. Hi! Does anyone have any experience taking a rig as hand luggage on Norwegian.no flights (london-oslo) When I booked the guy said as long as it is the correct size and weight for hand luggage it should be ok, but I got the impression he had never had that question asked before! I cannot find any Norwegian.no policy document to print out that explicity allow rigs as OK. Any quick response greatly appreciated. Cheers, Steffen
  2. I heard a while back the prox. flying focused episode was due to air during this October. For the benefit of those of us who can't get rush hd- can someone let on if its aired already or put up a nice link to it when it does? I feel pretty confident that this is a sure purchase when it eventually comes out on dvd...
  3. Did I understand correctly that as of the last BPA AGM individuals with a foreign license are now allowed to jump in the UK WITHOUT having to get a BPA membership???
  4. so you two are interpreting this press release that he made physical contact with foliage?
  5. to what extent can this be addressed by packing techniques ...rolling the nose, using a small mesh slider etc....?
  6. along the lines of: These skiers are jumping BASE heights without the hassle of actually using BASE gear. Global warming will melt the snow and so unless they're ok with landing on rocks rather than soft snow they will have to buy BASE gear.
  7. The current issue of Vertical magazine (available in Europe in English, French, German and Italian) has a 14 page feature on BASEclimbing with contributions from Jerome Blanc-Gras, Leo Houlding, Glenn Singleman and Valery Rozov. Clearly with these contributors the feature is very positive (actually the most positive I think you could get off the shop shelf). It is in the the dec 06 - jan 07 issue (English edition #3) so I don't think it'll be on the shelves much longer. There's a good shot of an exit from Mt Thor, Baffin on the cover. If i can get access to a scanner I'll put it up - I couldn't find anything from a websearch.
  8. hiked up kjerag with you and enjoyed watching you in your sugar glider. fly free benni
  9. Absolutely fantastic! Make sure you watch it every Sunday 9pm BBC1. This is universally great stuff to watch - even if nature isn't your big thing, the camera work and the rare sequences they capture are breathtaking

surely the way to get the best freedom to manouver is you'd have to bite on a waterski handle with your teeth?!
  15. Theres definitely a mix of both in there, some art, some trashy, some arty trash. The best pictures are when you can on top of beauty also enjoy the person's personality, or how happy they are feeling/confidence etc.... The pictures here are more consistent with regards to the Q and has some discussion on this subject: www.domai.com This one is definitely porn though: http://www.shutterpoint.com/Photos-ViewPhoto.cfm?id=286164
  16. or you could find a Hannah and dig yourself deeper... (just get the Hs in the same font)
  17. heh heh , yup i think im guity of riding one of those old bikes. The first was an old brown hercules ladies bike until it got stolen and now its an old gold and blue bike with chrome etc with a nice curved frame that belonged to my uncle (which actually looks very nice in 'the flesh' despite the description sounding awful) The reason for the old bikes is that I got them for free and no way in hell am I risking my proper bike (a Kona) on the streets of Cambridge for some little shit to walk off with. I take great care to ignore red lights when i can, and when you know the sequence its rather sweet. Although I have been stopped by the police who just reeled off a speach about your safety (this was a clear road). When riding within the pedestrianised area I am very aware of everything around me and will slow down rather than shout out- (which would probably be more dangerous if they then step to either side without realising where you are coming from ) What annoys me most is misled people who buy shit full suspension bikes in halfords when a rigid bike would be far far better for the same price. Never buy a full suspension bike under at least £800. And we are talking about Cambridge not Wales here. Then there are the little old ladies who walk over to your side of the street just to try and grab your handlebars... wow im rambling a bit..but im just avoiding my disseration which is actually on a congestion charge in Cambridge due in 10 days.. how fun

    BURNING SITES

Sounds like best practise has be established/reminded here. But a Leave No Trace Bumper Sticker http://www.lnt.org/membership/index.html would be a nice touch- as long as its used on the place intended! Would be better having one of those on your car turning up to a NP than Skydiving/Base ones..
  19. I can't remember the sequence completely but you mean something like the icesheet in Die Another Day? ..with out the CGI obviously.. that would be cool though- but would need a back up team for boats etc (and if u dont land in a boat then you'd freeze bits off that you would rather keep.. Now if there was some site where a glacier has receeded to a 'lip' above a cliff/steep face (like a hanging valley) that would make for a nice jump!
  20. yeah this video definitely kicks ass. and i like: "i thought he was into sports not heavy crime" ;-) even if there was no Base in it I would watch just for the locations! Really breathtaking flights...
  21. NAK- Norsk Aero Klubb (with Norges Luftsportsforbund) is the Norwegian Body and covers all the air sports (apart from the flying down norwegian valleys) Parachute section since 1960.
  22. Heal well, the world needs more people like you! Best wishes Steffen

    Puerto Vallarta info

Bit off topic but there is a 600' 2 person parasail in Voss, Norway that is designed to be jumped off. (its Europe's highest bungee jump). There are certainly locals there who might have jumped it...but around that area are better things to jump without getting wet...
