Let me know when you can fly me out there and I will teach better exits..... And some CRW! top Jump more, post less!

No, it should be a requirement for a B or maybe C. But that would be a whole new thread. top Jump more, post less!

Define injury. Scrape, ambulance, medevac? There are greater risks by jumping at night, but those can be mitigated with proper planning and good execution. Night jumps can be some of the most memorable and scenic jumps in your career. .....and let the Holy War begin on the value of night jumps and their requirement for a D license! top Jump more, post less!

The US has 2-way already and is testing 2-way Pro-Am at this year's Nationals. 2-way was brought in to increase the number of people participating. Failing that, it was decided to try Pro-Am. Maybe we should just have more people compete in the events we already have. 4-way rotes, 4-way seq, 2-way, 8-way, 2-way pro-Am. top Jump more, post less!

Mesh slider, new zero-P fabric, one stow, and a canopy designed to open quickly. Oh yeah, body position. top I bet THAT will clear out the sinuses huh Top? If you're not careful, it can clear your colon too! That's why we went to slower opening canopies, not that flexible anymore! top Jump more, post less!

We managed to do ten CRW jumps in a day, for three days, everyone packing for themselves. One of the days we were done by 10:30 AM, and had to go back to the hotel to have a cocktail. The bars weren't open yet! Some of these numbers are insane, though! top Jump more, post less!

It must be awesome to stand in the 182 and adjust your legstraps! top PS. this is a sport where height is definitely not an advantage. Jump more, post less! -

One of my teammates going through the side of my canopy and out the back. It didn't start out as a malfunction... just ended that way for both of us. top Jump more, post less!

Then check your routing of the bridle, it may be getting trapped by your d-bag against the bottom of the reserve container when you s-fold it and close. That could make your pilot chute stay in your burble and provide no extraction force. As you deployed the reserve, the main bridle was released and both came out. If it happened once, it can happen again unless you can find and correct the error. top Jump more, post less!

"Pud" being the operative word here. Unless the OP is misnaming the equipment, I would look more at misrouted lanyard or uncocked pilotchute. top Jump more, post less!

May have been more of a matching issue than a catching issue. I'd wait for some better gear before changing everything about technique. Wingloading is only one factor, canopy trim, charecteristcs, etc can make the wingloading irrelevant. Get the dedicated equipment and build good habits. top Jump more, post less!

What are you all jumping? What is the wingloading? top Jump more, post less!

Cool! Is he going to light himself on fire while doing a tandem with a goat under an impossibly small experimental canopy? That right there would be worth the price of admission! Sign me up! I'm sure he's gonna do something that involves flames. Just not sure what part of his body we are going to ignite yet..... top Jump more, post less!

Packing for subterminal openings.
topdocker replied to DocPop's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Mesh sliders certainly will provide a much quicker opening. Maybe even too quick. Also, have you ever changed a slider? It's the biggest pain in the ass to do and not something you would want to do between loads. If you plan on a career of subterminal openings, then it would be worthwhile, but for one or two jumps, no way. top PS. However, I do have a number of mesh sliders for sale if anyone is interested! DSE, I think what you are asking is if the coaches are taught to use mechanical advantage to keep control in the air/plane, rather than just pure brute force. Yes, we covered and discussed it, but I don't think we spent an hour on it. top Jump more, post less!

Okay, but I'm no model! Give me a week to get the video and post it, or have the video guy do it. Honestly, I never thought it would make a difference, but it did. I was to the point of dimished strength and endurance in my right hand, and as a dentist it was really effecting my ability to work. Now, no problems, no shots, no drugs, and more importantly, no pain. Sounds like an infomercial!!! top Jump more, post less!

I think everyone agrees that to protect your brain, a hard foam helmet would be better. What some of us are saying is that there is a point of diminishing returns- a helmet that has a large amount of padding to protect your melon may interfere with your ability to see under canopy. Not suffering a TBI is important, but if you significantly increase your odds of a blown aorta due to impact after a canopy collision, then your brain being intact is moot. Maybe next weekend I can get a few helmets out and do some testing on field of vision, since no one seems to want to do that. I'm interested in there effect on field of vision now..... top Jump more, post less!

I had the cortisone shot and wore the elbowband for a while. Nothing really helped..... Then a physical therapist that I did some rock climbing with suggested a stretch for it. I was really skeptical but had to try it. The pain went away in a week or two and never had the problem again. It may be difficult to explain in text, but will try if you want me to. top Jump more, post less!
