Twin Otter Bench Seats and lights?
tkhayes replied to tkhayes's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
no screwing around at altitude trying to get people to frigging move when you need to get ready - benches or on the floor it is all the same to me. What kind of moving around do you do at altitude that you need more room? Tall people do not get their nuts jammed by the person in front of them Lighting? that's an issue? really? We have had one skysurfer on our dropzone in the last 5 years. How about faster loading - easier to find a place to sit (between the belts) - more comfortable becaue we are sitting - less wear on the knees of the people who jump all the time - better CofG for the airplane (safer) - MUCH easier on anyone over 50 or 60 who may be jumping. -
Twin Otter Bench Seats and lights?
tkhayes replied to tkhayes's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Where do we get the plans for bench seats (STC's etc) and the nice larger red-yellow-green light fixture for th eback of th eplane? Interested in some possible mods for our Otter(s) thanks TK Hayes -
It has no more risks with the aircraft than with any other form of skydiving. low-tail aircraft have inherent dangers with skydivers if there is an accidental deployment of the parachute in or out or near the door. IAD is just another method of deplying a parachute and has to be done properly, like any method of training or student progression. TK

Some 120 people were at the DZ that weekend, made for a fabulous event, and we were pleased given that we do not normally hold a Safety Day. Will definitely do it again next year. Saturday line-up · Sally Hathaway, Master Rigger and World Champ talked about people’s gear · Pip Redvers did a tracking seminar · Billy Porter and Tony Hathaway talked about videography and related safety · TK Hayes did his Canopy Control, Better Flares and Accuracy seminar. Sunday Lineup: · Randy Kern, USA Champ and pilot talked about aircraft safety · JC Perren set up and discussed practice cutaway harness and talked about that · Greg Lund, Organizer and Instructor, talked about Spotting and Exits, especially on larger dropzones with many groups · Paul Meagher covered all the various skydiving accessories that are available and what/how they work. Due to all the blood drives we have hosted over the years at Skydive City, we have LOTS of blood credits that we can donate to those in need. If you have a skydiver, friend, acquaintance or relative in need of blood for surgery, trauma or whatever, then let us know and we can transfer blood credits to you. The Blood Center we use is BloodNet USA, Lakeland, FL and we need the patient's name and information like the hospital, location, etc etc to work that. I have never done it before so I do not know how it works yet. I expect that blood is very expensive these days, and thanks to all the cool skydivers out there, we have tons to work with thanks to everyone that is dontaing - if you do not donate, then do so now, and get on a regular schedule. If you are a donor, then thanks, and please consider other programs like the bone marrow registry and the Pheresis/platelet programs that your local centers provide, be good and bleed for a friend today TK Hayes Skydive City
