tkhayes replied to jumbo's topic in Safety and Training
100lb people do not play pro football - 300lb people do not skydive you are so close to the edge and over it in most cases. Lose 50 pounds and come see us -

I have never had a problem donating and jumping, like anything, there is a risk, less red blood cells, woozy maybe, if you have issues, thenn wait a few hours or more, 12 should do it TK

In case you have friends in need - thanks to blood drives at Skydive City over the years, we have more than 100 credits available for use. If oyu have friends and skydivers who are hurt and need blood, we only need their details to transfer our blood credits to their cause. FYI, contact TK for mor einfo

we already have $1000 raised and it is only 10am on the 4th - woohoo!
-
if we wait untl it is in writing - it will be too late, do you really want to pay sales tax on all your jumps?
-
yes, have spoken to them, not really their issue as it is state wide, not federal, but they offered up the 'trraining jumps' angle, thanks to Ed Scott for that much,
-
OK, the Florida State is telling us that Sales tax is payable on skydives as they are equivalent to "recreation" or "Amusement rides" I need: 1. Input on other DZ's and whether they have run into this before, 2. Whether or not you pay sales tax in your state, name of DZ and State 3. anything else that might help - This can blow up into a state-wide things and no one wants to pay sales tax and have their jump prices increase. The main angle is that flight on training type jumps is not taxable, so conceivably all jumps could become training jumps in one way or another. FL is pursuing this as it is a very high dollar figure, and worth their while to pursue. please send info to me directly tkhayes@tkhayes.com or tkhayes@skydivecity.com any good consumer lawyers out there? www.jumpforthecause.com (Jump For The Cause) is a skydiving-based organization dedicated to raising money for Breast Cancer research. Prior successes have made this event and organization a high-profile force in the fight against Breast Cancer. Skydive City is doing its part to help raise money by hosting a fund raiser over the July 4th long weekend. All proceeds will go towards raising the goal of their Women’s Record event in October in California. Skydivers and others alike are asked to raise donations to support the cause. Every $100 brought in will receive a free jump ticket. Other students and participants can also receive credits for their jumps, with each $100 raised bringing $15 credit towards their purchase of a tandem or other student jump. More information is on our calendar of events at www.skydivecity.com and pledge forms will also be available. Raise money any way you can – friends, businesses, etc. Our own local Arlo Pace will be traveling to the World Record in October and we hope to support her efforts to raise money as well. During “Sparkle-Bration” in Dade City at the Pasco County Fairgrounds, Skydive City will be jumping into the events for July 4th, we need experience demo jumpers and we are asking for a couple of volunteers to help man a booth at the Fairgrounds that day to help raise private funds for the Cause. Feel free to contact the dropzone or myself tkhayes@skydivecity.com for further information and stay tuned for more updates on the events.
