Does Warming Up Your Car Actually Help? | Warming Up A Car Myths (smarttoyota.com)

block heaters also are common in Western Canada, Alberta etc. People in the far north, arctic etc often leave their vehicles running 24/7 as they may not start again when shut off, especially when it is -40 or below.
-
from that article: "Coal use is set to drop by about 20 percent this year in both the European Union and the United States, the report said." You seem surprised that underdeveloped countries have a hard time keeping up with the first world..... cherry picking the headlines to suit your needs again I see?

It was the deep state that stopped him. Out of his control and even he could not fix it. That's why you need to vote for him again, because THIS TIME..... he will fix it - after all, he is the ONLY one that can and he knows more about it (and everything) that anybody, whatever it is that you might be talking about. But yeah, it's not a cult.

U.S. Electricity Grid & Markets | US EPA - 14 is false. not only false, but PATENTLY false. I am not going to banter back and forth with you again when i have already. how about this.... READ MY POSTS that replied to yours when you made a claim and I shot the flying fuck out of them..... Half of your claims do not actually matter - nitpicky points (again and again and again like a broken record) and have little to do with making an argument against EVs. more tire wear? Seriously? You are actually using that as an argument against EVs? I missed your posts about tire wear regarding truckers and 4 wheel drives and your ongoing continuous assaults against them because, well, you know..... tire wear! it's no wonder no one takes you seriously - but here you are, regurgitating again. Every reference that you posted from whatever site it was that was against EVs, I found articles on the same site PROMOTING EVs. And you have yet to acknowledge a single stat or reference that I posted for any sort of validity and acknowledge that the articles/stats/data even exist.

reread the thread.

nothing is working. The GOP and Trump did not 'fix' immigration either, they just took draconian measures at the border in hopes of stopping it. They reduced it, they did not stop it nor even come close. another failed campaign promise. At least Biden made no promises that he would fix immigration. Neither party wants to fix this, ESPECIALLY the republicans right now, because it is fodder for election campaigns. The GOP gets more out of blaming Biden in favor of the soon to be convicted felon, than they do by passing any immigration reform. Democrats do the same when it is their turn, and they can blame the other guy If only Americans were not so fucking stupid.....

Yeah, I am not sure about that - could not find anything online that says the SC has to approve every amendment petition..... if you have a reference, I am all ears.

Texas Supreme Court Temporarily Halts Court-Approved Abortion
tkhayes replied to David Wang's topic in Speakers Corner
yup, if you cannot get your policy passed, then change the rules - I mean who needs democracy anyway? After all we elect 'representatives to make the decisions, so sit down and shut the fuck up'. Ther guy I ran against in 2018, Danny Burgess is now a state senator. He will run for Governor someday. "I will not stop until there are no more abortions.' That is a quote. He is also practicing Catholic, so that explains a lot of it. And he is far from being alone in FL. -
Yup and Florida is taking the amendment to court trying to stop it from even being allowed on the ballot. When you cannot win on issues, move the goal posts and change the rules..... Florida's record on constitutional amendments is pretty dodgy at best. In new brief, Moody claims abortion amendment would let providers self-regulate - Florida Phoenix Even if it is passed, you can bet that the Florida legislature will work legislation to 'control how the amendment is implemented'. They did that with felony voting rights, weed, and others. Most felons still cannot vote in Florida after the voting rights amendment passed with a massive majority. The Women's rights amendment looks pretty good, but Florida will find a way to fuck it up and stop it.... I think they will redefine what 'viability' means, as well as set the terms of 'protecting a patient's health' to remove the ability of doctors to say the woman's health is in danger. In other words, they will redefine every term in the amendment if it passes. The amendment text is: “Limiting government interference with abortion.— Except as provided in Article X, Section 22, no law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider.”

earlier you were complaining that they are not economically viable for the CONSUMER.... now you are saying the problem is that the manufacturers and the dealers are not going to make enough money? If costs are coming down, then that is good for the consumer. and the viability of EVs working. Tesla profits might be down, but they are still very much profitable..... You do realize surely why we question your abilities to form a rational argument right? I mean you do surely understand that you have yet to offer any consistent point throughout this entire thread and that is why we continue to question WTF it is that you are on about.... right?
-
iseecars actually has several pro EV articles as well - you appear to have been unable to find them https://www.iseecars.com/ev-dealers-study - more places to buy EVs https://www.iseecars.com/car-affordability-study#v=202310 - EV affordability improving https://www.iseecars.com/used-car-prices-study#v=2023-06 EV Prices dropping and several other articles about the prices of EVs coming down. That would seem then to make the economics work better no? Of course it doesn't.... because afterall YOUR Iseecars data article is the right one and all the other Iseecars articles must be flawed and false.
-
Iseecars is not any sort of a research body. They are a car search engine and that is pretty much all they claim to be. https://www.iseecars.com/about-us/. I can probably find supporting data from any number of pro EV or other auto websites that also do not do research. But why would I?
-
again, and with emphasis...... so what? you are still an order of magnitude from the topic of your original post, have yet to acknowledge that most of your claims were insignificant and demonstrated no point. you have yet to state what you point is, and you jump from squirrel to squirrel is search of a problem with EVs.
-
if YOU were paying attention, depreciation is an order of magnitude from your original post in this forum.... as are electrical installations. It would appear that you are and continue to grasp and whatever 'squirrel!' jumps in front of you today and running with it. For starters, your claims of installation costs of electric are wildly exaggerated, and now you are hanging onto depreciation as the cause of all the EV woes. You claims of EV market slowing down are completely out of context and simply cherry picking to make a point that you cannot seem to define, despite my pointing that out. Take an argument and stick with it. Oh wait, you did earlier and were debunked in most of your claims. installation costs also debunked. what's next? Poor children in Africa and the societal cost of that as part of the EV equation? SQUIRREL!
-
nope and depending on your market a new service can cost a lot. I had one done on a flip house 4 years ago, only cost $2500 or so, everything. The other day I was quoted $7000, but I am pretty sure that guy was a fuckwit and ripping me off. still shopping.

new homes in the 70's did not come with enough kitchen outlets, nor did they have an outlet above the range in the cupboard for the microwave that you were eventually going to hang above the stove. Now EVERY home comes with than and more kitchen circuits and outlets. And every kitchen renovation also includes all these things if they are not already installed. And that costs more money. And it became code so it is required and it is 'big bad government' forcing their will on us, using BH's logic. The issue of charging capabilities will solve itself in time. It is just not a hurdle worth even discussing given the cost savings in fuel that EVs have over gas. Not sure why we are debating this issue with the troll
-
so what?
-
we already hashed this in the thread but apparently you have a short memory or are just content to continue to parrot your bullshit a century ago, you had to plan your trip around where there might be a gas station because we did not have enough of them. Now we do. The same will happen with EVs and charging capabilities, whther they are centralized today and distributed tomorrow, if there is a dollar to be made from it, someone will step up and provide that capacity. New homes are already being built with the needed infrastructure to accommodate future needs. To continue to badger the lack of charging stations this early in your 'it should have all happened by now' fantasy, demonstrates a lack of intelligence and/or the lacking ability to even comprehend the future. Hell you did not even acknowledge the idea that the USA energy strategy MIGHT JUST INCLUDE conserving our old and gas for the future.... And if everyone bought an EV tomorrow, well the next day sales would actually plummet to zero.... and you would be able to post a new troll titled 'see...! EV Sales plummet! I was right!'. again, your posts offer NOTHING to any conversation. they point out no problem, they do not even identify a problem, and they do not offer any information that might help with an existing one, even if you could define it. owning the libs again..... yawn

And the cost of that gun violence is staggering, yet we refuse to address that in any way while claiming ‘personal responsibility’ as a tenant of America it’s just the ‘cost of freedom’ other than the hundreds of people whose freedom is directly impacted and negated because they got shot….

I get it Brent, y’all pissed off because your world view is falling down like so many dominoes. The rate of growth in EVs is continuing, wind projects are growing across the country, solar surging in Florida and other southern states (I live in Florida), you only have a tidbit of data from a single thing in CA to rely on, coal usage is barely at record levels, (but so is the world population), domestic oil production soaring and renewable energy still building steadily every.... single.... day...., and all you have is rhetorical comments like 'it was supposed to replace fossil fuels by now". CO2 rates continue to rise and the globe sees record climate and weather catastrophes almost daily and most certainly more regularly with annual records for weather events being broken continuously.
