No Wonder the Dems Do Not Want Tighter Voter ID Laws!
tkhayes replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
cherry picking at its finest. you must be proud. -
A female friend posted something to describe the whole 'hope' question and how that is intimidation and how it works.... "While watching the Comey hearing on Thursday, a glaring reality became clear. James Comey, then FBI director, was pressured to do something inappropriate by his boss The people conducting the hearing then blamed that pressure on him, by pushing the idea that he didn’t say “no” strongly enough, that he continued to take the president’s calls, and that he didn’t immediately quit his job. No woman who has ever been sexually harassed at work is fooled: Comey was subject to the pressure of losing his job should he not perform in a way that pleasured the president. If my boss holds me back after a meeting and says he “hopes” I will suck his d*ck — after asking if I really like my job — that is pressure coming from a person with power over me." Which is a totally plausible explanation and happens in the workplace every single minute of every single day in the world.

Supporters of Trump are already applauding the testimony as a complete absolution of any wrongdoing ever by Trump and detractors are already applauding the testimony as a smoking gun that will end the presidency Which it was neither. But plenty of stuff that will keep the water muddy for a long time yet. Sure wish I was a fly on the wall in the private testimony. The public needs to hear more of that.

"But what about her emails?" - by some unnamed senator from AZ

You post a perfect example of people being led by their nose rings by the MSM. So I take it that you full believe Trump asked for a loyalty pledge. Yet even your favorite Fact Check can't back you up. http://www.factcheck.org/2017/05/trump-vs-comey/ So, who here can't help themselves> Yes I do believe that as Comey will testify to that Thursday if asked that question. You have seen the opening statement already published correct? https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/3860369/James-Comey-s-June-8-opening-statements.pdf

This Is What Happens When You Kill Electric Car Tax Breaks
tkhayes replied to airdvr's topic in Speakers Corner
govt ending up putting $10B of our money into saving GM and Chrysler during the bailout. $80B in bailout money and only ever recovered $70B. Maybe if we let them sink, GM could have been purchased on the open market for pennies on the dollar, and we might have ended up with cheaper cars as a result. so much for level playing fields..... -
that is not new, that has been around for decades....the rapture and all that crap, and we have been spouting and predicting the end of times for longer than any of us have been on earth. But the one thing that is for certain....'it' will be taken care of. and it will not likely be pretty. A large chunk of the world's population will eventually die off, mother nature will take its course when we make the planet no longer inhabitable. Not likely to be in our lifetime.

and the science at the defense dept as well... http://archive.defense.gov/pubs/150724-congressional-report-on-national-implications-of-climate-change.pdf?source=govdelivery If the science is unsettled, that does not make it a falsehood, and that kind of thinking is the thinking of an ideologue with only belief structures to reach their conclusions; not someone that is actually capable of reasonable discussion and critical scientific discovery. The science is not settled yet on gravity, yet it exists with overwhelming data to support it AND the ability to foresee future events due to that existence. But I guess you are right....since we cannot define gravity and what it is 100% with absolute certainty, I guess that means that gravity then does not exist. got it.

he does not even care what his own decision will be, he just wants to see what his ratings will be for the appearance, and whether or not his family sells more real estate or clothing because of it.

I am always torn about these climate deals, since i am pretty sure that ZERO countries have ever kept their word on the changes that they promise to make to emissions. What is driving emissions down? money and the development of cheaper energy sources, wind, solar are becoming adn will become more viable, both strategically and economically What is driving emissions up? IMO, the fact that the world population is growing at an out-of-control pace and everyone will eventually want to own a car and live in a 3/2 house with a big screen TV and air conditioning. So it is up to the renewalable industries to make products that are more cost-effective and with any luck the oil industries also join in in other enegry development But we are humans, so no matter what we do, we will likely fuck it all up.

I think the media could do the country a service by speaking about what the process of impeachment actually is, what treason is etc. The country is dumb enough to not understand any of it. People screamed treason for Hillary without being able to name a deed that was committed that met the standard fo treason. Likewise, anti-Trump movement is asking for impeachment without understanding even what meets that standard. Most people connect it with 'committing a crime', which is not the standard at all. All you really need to have is a level of dosregrad of respect of the office and demonstrate that you are careless even to get thrown out. I really doubt that any congress is going to impeach Trump until they get their legislative agenda passed into law, then they could give a shit. This in itself could take a very very long time, given their inability to pass any effective legislation already, especially on the major issues, like helathcare and budgets, TBD. And the impeachment itself could take 2 years or more. Get used to Trump being our -child-in-chief for some time yet. Glad to see other world leaders are stepping up to run things in light of his inability to do it. America first, america alone.

I wonder when RonD will start writing emails to his inside contacts alerting them to the potential dangers/hostilities being perpetrated by 'enemies of the state' Oh wait, he thinks Trump walks on water....never mind -
Kushner wanted secure line with Kremlin before inauguration
tkhayes replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
probably not a crime, just a massive indiscretion. No one in the GOP is going to object to ANYTHING that the Trump family does, not at least until they get the legislative things that they need done. No one cares that the top elite in the white house are setting things up to enrich themselves and their friends by looting the country of all the wealth they can. No one actually cares and that is how far the ideology has gotten so fucked up in politics. -

Trump narcissism will not allow him to resign, ever. He is simply never wrong, nor can he possibly be wrong. Even if he was impeached and removed from office, he would go to his grave going on and on and on about how great he was and how fake it all is. He knows everything and all things, and he is amazingly great no matter what the situation is. Even in defeat, he will still be 'Yuge'
-
You make it sound like investigations never turn up anything..... Glad you think that Flynn is in trouble, the issue will be whether trump was aware of his misgivings and hired him anyway which demonstrates a disregard for the office Trump holds and the sanctity of the institutions of national security
-
I will be fine with the conclusion if he is cleared of collusion, just like I was fine with Clinton being cleared of anything to do with emails or Benghazi. I had not trouble with those investigations either. Your posts in this and other threads pretty much clearly state that you believe the investigation should not even exist at all.... How are you going to be if Trump's upper campaign echelon are all linked to Russia, money, and shady contracts. I am certain you will conclude that he is untouchable and innocent, and even if every single person on the campaign is found guilty of some link, then Trump himself obviously knew nothing about it. But of course that is possible given that Trump is actually that stupid. How are you going to be if there are tons of evidence of trump collusion and the only way find out his innocence or guilt is to see his tax returns? Will you support that subpoena and public disclosure? Exactly how confident are you? Here's how confident I am. Manafort or Flynn, one or the other, will be convicted of a felony, likely in a plea deal of some kind. $100 on that. e-shake if you accept.
-
Remember - it is all fake and made up news, and the investigation is fake too. That's why we assign Special Counsels...because it is fake....
-
That's not actually collusion, that's reporting the same information, which is what we often look for when we're trying to see if news is fake or not, multiple sources. For example let's say in 18 months from now Trump gets impeached. I'm willing to bet CNN report something like "Trump gets impeached" And MSNBC says something like "Trump gets impeached" Etc.
-
I never said the stock market was doing poorly. I said that credibility is a major factor in the success of any company on the stock market. Which is contrary to your suggestion that somehow credibility isn't actually important
