We are government - we are here to help you die.
tkhayes replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
funny how bees are important because scientists say they are...and it is SO obvious to everyone that they are important but when scientists say that global warming is important...it somehow is not and those scientists do not know what they are talking about nor is it important to so many. Just demonstrates how people just have belief structures, not based on facts, but based on whatever they choose to believe, but they spend far too much of their lives telling people about their belief structures, I can only assume to attempt to sway them (myself included) on useless internet forums welcome to the annoying and silly side of humanity. -
which is an anecdotal example and not actually statistical evidence of a 'conspiracy' or anything else. Once again people...the overwhelming vast majority of scientists educated and studying global climate agree that climate change is real and is most likely caused by man-made insertion of nasty bits into the atmosphere. I stopped watching after 5 minutes of this guy, because, afterall - he is NOT a scientist...he said it himself. I decided instead to go read some peer reviewed scientific articles... the vast majority of which do not agree with his position. By the way, his myth #5 that only the US Govt can fix this is something new to me? Never saw that claim ever being made by anyone ever anytime except him. yawn - don't bother replying rushmc, I was not directing this to you. the post was just the last one and I hit 'reply. and I am not looking at this thread again anyway since it is a regurgitation of the same shit that has been said for a decade now and nothing will change anyone's mind anyway.....

USPA Acts to Ensure Proper TI Qualifications
tkhayes replied to fencebuster's topic in Tandem Skydiving
you go right ahead and defend your position in court. let us know how that works out. -
Did you see the picture in the museum of Fidel Castro riding the toboggan? That was my toboggan - no shit. Comical that Gander has a 'Bistro'. Ches's Fish n Chips is more like the speed there. Great restaurant at Sinbad's Hotel, pretty classy and expensive.
-
I was born and raised in Gander. Went to school in St John's. Mom would have you over for tea if you dropped by - she's still in Gander

lay off your rubbish. Ed scott is a great guy and has a job to do, and he did (and does) it well. and to everyone else that enjoys the "Why are we in USPA and what good are they": If you would prefer....you can go it alone and petition the FAA to be recognized when you decide that you can form your own 'better' sport skydiving organization. One that will have no members because you hold everyone 'accountable' for their actions, and therefore drive away your base. If you would prefer 'teeth in what USPA does, then perhaps you can then petition the FAA to add the BSRs to their list of FARs so that government inspectors can show up and not only suspend your rating, but impose civil and criminal penalties based on those rules that you demanded be enforced. I am sure it would be so convenient in this new organization with 'teeth', whether it be your 'utopian USPA' or a local FSDO inspector to come out and remind you as a Tandem Instructor how your drogue on your tandem rig should be maintained and whether or not they like the stitch pattern on that repair, and then ground your system because the way they see it from the book, you are doing it wrong. Because maintaining your USPA ratings only costs $55/year or whatever it is. But for most, maintaining your FAA certifications costs HUNDREDS of dollars or more per year. What do you get for your membership? The single most important event that happened financially for your membership was a successful bid by USPA to shut down a federal excise tax on aviation that would have jacked your jump ticket by 10% in the 1990's. That single event alone would have cost everyone 10% more every jump.....figure it out how much that would have cost you and now, figure out your membership costs and get back to me. They battled the Sales Tax issue for tandems along side a couple of dropzones, ours included and together we successfully used a federal law to rule against any state or county level taxation on ANY skydive. So sure, go it alone. You take on the federal government and let me know how that works out. I choose the organization that helps develop standards over having non-standards. I choose to have representation and partnership in government matters than NOT having said representation. And most of all, if you do not like it, then get elected and change it.

wow, that's a stoop to low new levels. not sure how they turn that into a movie..... a 30-60min documentary piece on the History channel or something like that maybe, but Hollywood will destroy any shred of reality with this.

Another scumbag politician! Where's the Professor?
tkhayes replied to loudtom's topic in Speakers Corner
ummm, apparently not...or did you miss the story. It was about a conviction, not someone 'getting away with their crimes'. You comments is the kind of disconnect from reality that exists in the world today. Would those be the same AG's (or the same corrupt system) then that let Bush administration get away with war crimes? I guess so then. -

what's the issue? She was corrupt, she got caught, she got convicted. I assume this is OK with you folks that think the democrats always get away with their 'crimes'? apparently not. -
“You say shit like that, and then people will buy into it.”
tkhayes replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
not sure what common sense that is....why would guns increase over time? Beds, cars, power tools, furniture does not necessarily increase over time, you buy what you need and be done with it. OR You buy new and get rid of old. I am pretty sure the increase in gun owning households is due to paranoid and delusional beliefs that the big bad govt is coming to get your guns, on top of the obviously relaxed laws that allow people to purchase and carry guns. But as an anomaly and statistically insignificant, this gun owner (me) is actually reducing the number of guns he owns. http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/12/10/us/gun-sales-terrorism-obama-restrictions.html?_r=0 -

'She' can do very little as the President. We have a thing called the Constitution and a thing called Congress. gun bans would have to be enacted by Congress then signed by the President to go into law. I mean really.....this is as good as the rigth can do? It ranks right up there with Trump banning Muslims. He cannot actually do that. not ever, not in a million years, whether it is part of his agenda or not - it is not actually possible. Like gun bans....Hillary cannot and will not ban guns because she cannot, so I have no idea what the rhetoric is out there at all or even being discussed. Oh, maybe because the vast majority of America is stupid, does not understand how the system actually works...that's probably why, yes. -
So then you already are aware of the checks and balances that contradict the claims you make, even if you are in GA. Or is your next claim that GA is in some sort of utopian voter registration bubble that no other state has managed to figure out before you came along to help? But thanks at least for doing some civic duty.
-
Your idea that people can vote 4 or 5 times is not actually valid either. As I said, there are checks and balances. There will be checks and balances, and sources of fraud will and can be identified if there is fraud. That is why the rare few fraud cases actually get caught and prosecuted. http://www.bizpacreview.com/2013/05/30/poll-worker-who-voted-for-obama-multiple-times-convicted-of-voting-fraud-73217 If you think that it is so easy to vote 5 times, then I suggest you go try it with a news crew as a social experiment to clearly demonstrate how flawed the system really is and as an obvious demonstration of how much fraud really could happen. I bet you do not actually get very far.
-
oversimplification of the process. you make it sound like people just walk in - claim to be John Doe and then get to vote. There are still checks and balances in the process and what you are claiming 'could happen' does not in fact happen. http://www.ncsl.org/research/elections-and-campaigns/same-day-registration.aspx

Federal Court Rules Texas’ ID Law Violates Voting Rights Act
tkhayes replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
no one should be surprised. I am pretty sure that Texas leads the country tenfold on violations of the VRA. -
I am all for the mandatory service of some kind, including education, for whatever period, 1-2 years....read up on that a bunch of years ago and yes, would probably require a Constitutional Amendment to make it viable....along with a host of other things.
-
I would object myself to that policy, whatever it is. There is a huge difference when using a word for hatred and discrimination and for example, using that word to point out the absurdity/stupidity/bias/reality of the hate and discrimination. 1st amendment rights, and there is a time and place for EVERY word in the english language, regardless of how much it offends someone. DZ is a private forum on a private server doing private things - I get it, but I wish the policy would get modified.
-
ditto for you I am sure....the difference is that you are 'certain' that you know and then you act on it. Which by way of factual evidence demonstrates what I originally said, as opposed to 'what you think'.
-
not sure why this is a big deal. they look like idiots or they have a great deal of respect for the 'Obama agenda' - either way that is good news. for the opposing party. Move on to real issues please....like turning the USA into a fearful police state, starting another war, or cutting taxes again to further increase the deficit, or banning women's rights, or eliminating voter rights, or dosmantling healthcare....you know those supposedly 'important things'

Quadriplegic needs skydiving advice!
tkhayes replied to apenny4yothawts's topic in Safety and Training
We have extensive experience with para and quad tandem at Skydive City in Zephyrhills, Florida. Not everyone is a good candidate for making a jump and there are a lot of questions to ask, everything from type of injury to metal and surgeries to length of your disability, height, weight, catheters, rods, colostomy, body temp regulation, breathing etc etc Too much to cover in a forum like this. If Florida works for you, then feel free to call me directly 813-783-9399 TK Hayes, Skydive City -
Sure, because when I want to know what is going on in the overwhelming consensus of scientific research, the first place I go to is the Social Science Research Network, a singular group dedicated to disputing the overwhelming consensus of scientific research. got it.

I believe that you are a self-loathing and hate filled human that has little regard for the teachings of the book that you claim to uphold. And that your direct actions reflect that. I think the world is better off without people like you spreading your message of hate, cleverly disguised as some sort of twisted love for humanity. Which really means only love for people like you....mostly white and mostly Christian.
-
sounds awesome, however cannot be legislated nor enacted in any way whatsoever. Not realistic, and not ever implemented or reflected at any time in the history of the world. Nothing more than ideology. We actually live in a real world, not some fantasy of what utopia that you think is even possible. And you would be the first person to steal food for your family if you were ever in the situation where you needed to, since that would also be 'taking personal responsibility'. I know, I know - that would never happen to you of course because of your sincere and superior handling of all of life's matters..... But some people actually end up with disease and tragedy, and then a job loss or death/injury on top of that. And some people simply cannot catch a break no matter how hard they try. But your outlook at least, clearly tells us how much you give a shit about your fellow human, your fellow countrymen or your fellow American. Every man for himself, personal responsibility is obviously and guaranteed to be a success for all.....
-
Given that 2000 people die in gun violence every month in the USA, I am not really sure where that 'break' is coming for the emotions to lessen.... It is ongoing and that is absolutely a shitty excuse for inaction.
