that is the scenario I like to relate to people. Save a bunch of money by not buying an AAD, at least depending on the size of your reserve. Because the AAD is designed for the unconscious or incapacitated scenario. Landing your reserve, brakes set, no flare, possibly downwind. I have no idea why anyone would need a lawyer to fill out a simple application for naturalization unless you fall into some funky category. Mine cost $400 several year ago so obviously the price went up. If you have had a permanent resident card for 10 years, then you pretty much qualify. Fill out the form and send it in with payment. Did mine myself with relative ease. There is nothing on the application that requires an attorney that I could see. And they offer you and send you all the study materials for the history stuff, including a CD you could listen to int he car and practice the questions. Not only was it well laid out, it was fairly educational too. They contact you to schedule an appointment, you do that - it took 2 hours out of my day given that almost everything now is done by appt and not just standing in line, and they scheduled the ceremony right there. Getting permanent residency was by far, an order of magnitude more difficult. Citizenship was a piece of cake once I had 'done the time'

define competent. There are many many dead competent people. This is a flight for hire. This is not a recreational activity solely for the enjoyment of the tandem instructor. Pilots in all disciplines of flight (except skydiving) are taught strict procedures, never to be deviated from, especially if you want to pass the check-ride.. SOPs, POHs. And the best professional pilots are checklist oriented systems managers. They manage the flight from start to finish, executing it according to a standard protocol. Skydiving could learn a thing or two from an average flight school. As least we seem to be more headed in that direction. there is some hope. Defending poor behaviors does nothing for our sport, nothing for our profession either, and certain nothing for you. Glad that everyone walked away from this, it could have been a disaster with a tenth of a second difference.

re-read everything that Bryan Burke and Brian Germain and PD and others have written about canopy flight. Turns are dangerous, the fewer turns you do, the safer it is. There is no such thing as a safe hook turn and there is never a need for a 180 hook to final on a tandem jump. Tandem passengers are paying for and they expect to receive a fun ride, yes, but a safe ride mostly. If you were a passenger in a passenger jet and the pilot decided to hook it into another airplane, you would consider that negligent and dangerous and you would wonder what you were getting for your money. BE a professional. Fly like a professional, be ahead of the game. Like the FAA and the tandem manufacturers and USPA do not have enough issues with skydiving already.

does not appear that any of the charges sound like these girls were kidnapped - even though yes AFTER they got in the van willingly, they were held. So the original headline from the 'right wing I hate niggers but am too afraid to say it' website seems to be stretching it maybe just a tad. drunk teenagers got into a van. they got drunker and high. they got raped, yes it is awful. Sounds like the people that are blamed for that are in the system being prosecuted as they should. I do not see any attempt anywhere to make this racist except by a conservative white site nor did I see anyone trying to make the victims out to be anything other than victims. And the story is approaching a year old. try again.
