Wasn't sure if you were just asking Steeler, but thought i'd reply anyway About 5 months ago. Fine on the first one, good on the second and third and then on to dp's. Don't worry about that, we had to do SO many practice exits out of the mock up that there was no way you could forget the count etc. Yep, it was ingrained as part of the routine of the exit, I couldn't have done one without the other. Yes, but it really wasn't a problem. Just grab and kick them out. With the huge docile student canopys it really is only a 'nusicense factor'. Hope that helps

Not necessarily, I am a 5''9 girl about average/just under weight and I found a 2nd hand RW suit that fits perfectly, although I did try on quite a few and was looking for a while. Start looking now, ask around at the dz if people have any old ones they want to sell, it won't hurt to try them on.

How about replacing 'stoners' with 'loners' cos you mised that category off, and there aren't that many riggers on a dz. Hang on, special ed talking, which ways my elbow again? Leeds University Skydiving Club www.skydiveleeds.co.uk

Not a fan - I think it looks very very outdated, if its the "young but mature and competent" look then go and buy yourself a propper suit, or a more contemporary sports jacket.

Mobile only, but thats because I don't really have a home (uni halls). Much prefer using a land line though (so so much cheeper), looking forward to having one next year.

I never felt the dropping sensation on any of my SL jumps

Have you looked at www.skydivingmovies.com? There is loads of cool footage on that and if you find anything you like you could email the author to see if they will let you use it. Leeds University Skydiving Club www.skydiveleeds.co.uk

What are you doing today? Or what did you do today?

Well I've had a pretty crap saturday: Got up to do some revision (with a hangover) Wasted a lot of time in dz.com Gave up working and went for a run Not much fun really. To cap it off, the weather has been great all week with no way of getting to the dz, then as soon as I manage to persuade someone to give me a lift it starts raining. sods law Leeds University Skydiving Club www.skydiveleeds.co.uk -
I made a few friends watch a vidio of my last jump, my friend said about 30 secs in "so what now, do you get back in the plane?" She thought that I was being filmed by someone in the plane, hmmm, yes, that would explain the arms and alti that kept apearing in view! Lovely girl, but what the hell was she thinking!!! Hi A while ago I saw a movie on skydivingmovies.com and it was of lots of people (i guess ground launching) going down a snowy mountain with their skis on, it was a really cool clip and I can't find it again. I've tried searching etc. Does anyone know the title? Cheers. Leeds University Skydiving Club www.skydiveleeds.co.uk

From what I have read on this forum, most of you seem to be pretty concerned with the whole BASE ethics stuff, and making sure new jumpers get training and are mentored etc. So is it considered a good idea to put a BASE rig on ebay that anyone could bid for and go use? Base Rig Clicky Just wondering

(plug for another uni) or you could come to Leeds Uni and jump with us

driving with out a license driving without insurance theft probably not worth it, it would be sods law for a random road check or something. Apply for your provisional lisence and get someone to sit in the car with you. Hope you get there safe! Leeds University Skydiving Club www.skydiveleeds.co.uk

Static line people: I need your advice
Katherine replied to mistersam's topic in Safety and Training
Do you not have to do 3 good dp's (or practice ripord pulls) in a row? Don't gove up yet, just go back to SL and keep doing those practice pulls untill you are getting it 100% of the time. x Leeds University Skydiving Club www.skydiveleeds.co.uk -
Hi I am obviously no expert but reckon if you enjoyed you jumps then you should try again. Go for the tunnel time, you will be able to get relaxed and stable in a safe environment and then learn turns/slow/fast fall etc. So many people I have talked to had real trouble getting their A lisence, with numerous jump repeats, and they are enjoying jumping now. Don't be dishartened, get the tunnel time, go to a different DZ or spain, find an instructor you like and keep jumping! Good luck. Leeds University Skydiving Club www.skydiveleeds.co.uk

Yep, I think I didn't like getting in the door with sitting exits because you are sitting there with you legs and most of your bum out of the plane before you actually go, where as with diving exits you are all in, then all out. Much better. Leeds University Skydiving Club www.skydiveleeds.co.uk

on the camera idea, when i have filmed frinds for fun when snowboarding it has been with a hand held and that works fine, as long as you don't have to look though the lens or anything. if it was attached to a helmet you would only be able to film in the direction your head was pointing, not so great when scanning the slope for obstecals/other users etc. with a camera in my hand i can pertty much keep the person in focus and centre screen while lookin around and turning at differnet places/times to the people i am filming, with a camera helmet this would not be possible. x Leeds University Skydiving Club www.skydiveleeds.co.uk

I dont like them, the way they move creeps me out. Luckily in the UK we hardly have any, I have only seen one in the wilde. x Leeds University Skydiving Club www.skydiveleeds.co.uk
