lol I some times wonder if they should pass a basic office test and have their pay rate tied to it. If you can't follow simple instructions that the copier screen is giving you on how to clear a jam then you should be dropped to min wage and told to return your diploma SO this one time at band camp..... RE: Surviving the No Wind Landing
Armour666 replied to hexadecimal's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I had a bit of work to do for my no wind landings. I was use to jumping in normal 5mph type wind I had gone to shorter risers because I could not reach the slides with the originals. Well on the first no wind day it was freaking fast full flare and was still clocking in. Shortened up the steering lines and all is well now. But I do rember on student gear having to wrap the lines around my hands a few times to get it to stall and now I can see how in a no wind landing getting the full maxium flare would be a problem. Yep they are usually up to no good Like when my oldest decided his younger brother needed a hair cut. Or the youngest taking a box of tampons and dipping them in the sink of water to watch them expand. SO this one time at band camp..... "Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most."

I go to print some items out walk over the printer and find some one refilling it. They go through the effort to get out from the cupboard to get a ream of paper, open the package, take the tray out of the printer then only stick in 15-20 sheets in. WTF if your going to go thought that much effort at least stick the whole dam ream of paper in. I asked him why he didn’t put the whole thing in. his reply I don’t have time. I just look in amazement and watch him complete his task at hand. Once his print job was done he turns around and proceeds to microwave his popcorn and watch it pop. These are the many time that I’m glad I’m a contractor and my stay is limited because any longer then six months I would run out of places to hide the bodies. SO this one time at band camp..... He did cooperate within the boundaries of the law. We are not required to hand over paper to an officer. Be it a DL, passport or birth certificate. I went 12 years without a DL. Should I be arrested if not able to hand over a DL if requested to do so? The charge against him is a trumped up general purpose charge. The cop has nothing and is only wasting the taxpayers money. Any smart prosecutor would run far away from this one. You have a law degree? Where from? As my post stated, he also had a MORAL obligation to cooperate. He was, after all, the one who called the police, why would he NOT cooperate??? He did coperate and the cop agred with him that the CC staf had no right to detaine him. He coperated by identifying himself with what was requiered by law. Just because he didn't not produce physical identification which is no requiered bu Ohio law how is that not coperating ? Not even close.. See If A Cop stops me I have no Choice. I must stop. That is the law. There si NO LAW that I must buy a TV from Best buy. If I do CHOOSE to buy a TV from best Buy, I agree to many of their policies.. Their return Policy, Their Rebate Policies (If they are offering them, And the I agree to let them check the Receipt against the Items in my Bag when I leave the store. It is all part of the sale. I can Accept this deal, Or Not. You should NOT be able to agree to this (Which you do by making the purchase fully knowing that this is thier policy..) and then renege on your part of the deal (allowing them to check the receipt). If you do, They should be able to Sue YOU for all the time, hassle and trouble you cause them by being a belligerent ass. They are NOT searching you. They are checking the receipt against the merchandise. I have never seen rubber Gloves and/or Lube used in this simple process. Absolutely. But I have no problems with Store placing camera all over their stores. They are NOT violating my Privacy as I am in THEIR Store. Yes, I would mind as you are implying that the Government is doing this and I have no Choice. I have a choice as to where I buy electronics. I can choose to buy from someplace that checks receipts or some place that doesn’t. It is really very simple. I am not a victim. I know that is hard for some to comprehend but I can make my own choices and don’t need others making those for me. No, But when I call most corporations, The first thing I hear is "this call may be recorded". I can choose to hang up or proceed knowing the call is in fact "Bugged". I have had the same thing happen. I filed complaints with the police depts. Legally, they can do this if they have "probable cause". None of this has anything to do with a Private Company saying we sell Items at this price. If you buy them, Here are the terms. You can choose to accept them or not. If you do not, Shop elsewhere. Buying the item and then complaining about the deal you knew full well you were making to begin with is well.. Typical liberal Bullshit. ***None of this has anything to do with a Private Company saying we sell Items at this price. If you buy them, here are the terms. You can choose to accept them or not. If you do not, Shop elsewhere. *** So it’s acceptable to lay out terms for shopping experience by race gender, sexual orientation, height, ect. Because that’s their terms don’t like it go else where because they are a Private Company? ***Buying the item and then complaining about the deal you knew full well you were making to begin with is well.. Typical liberal Bullshit. *** You defeated your own argument there as on the other side there is no law saying you have to comply with having a receipt checked. Also there are store policies that contravene state law on sales of goods but again it's the store policy and you chose to shop there so you should just accept it? And no you don't know the terms of the deal as I have yet seen a store post a sign before you go in or a cashier tell you before funds are exchanged that part of the transaction is to comply with having a bag or receipt on exit. At Costco and Sam’s Clubs you do as there part of the member ship is signing and agreeing to the terms! *** But I have no problems with Store placing camera all over their stores. They are NOT violating my Privacy as I am in THEIR Store. *** No that is not the case of cameras as there are privacy laws that dictate where they can be used. They are there and able to be use as it is a Public space that’s why they are not violating your privacy. They can not have cameras in a place of business in areas that are not deemed a public space or general work areas. They can cover entrances and public spaces only. And must inform that they are doing so. *** But when I call most corporations, the first thing I hear is "this call may be recorded". I can choose to hang up or proceed knowing the call is in fact "Bugged".*** That’s because by law they have to inform you. Would be ok that it was recorded without your knowledge and not give you the choice to proceed or not? SO this one time at band camp..... "Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most."

So in order for a store to protect themselves and not violate your rights, then I guess the best policy for the store to have would be hold everyone on probable cause and get it all worked out later. Just have a store employee say "I saw them pick this up but it wasn't in their shopping cart when they checked out." Its their word against yours. Now you can go to court and sue and all that other bs and waste more time and money, OR just show them your receipt. Being defiant towards a police officer is probable cause. j Being defiant is not probable cause He knew his rights and he exercised them!!!!! The officer got PO'ed that they kid just didn't roll over and give in with a request that he did not have to comply with!!! Do you see the problem here? Ho far are you going to go with request from a officer what you are obligated to? Offer to show him the receipt, your bank account activity? a strip search? Search of your house? Where dose it end? He complied with what was required for identifying him self. It is not guilty till proven innocent YOU do not hold the burden of proof to prove your innocence it's the other way around!!!! Stop being passive sheep, control and exercise your rights and besides WE ARE THE CUSTOMER!!! They need us not the other way around. SO this one time at band camp..... Das ist sehr gut, meine freunde! The "nothing to hide" argument has cost people more rights than any other. Phone taps not OK? What are you hiding? Can we searhc your home? No? What are you hiding? I am not a thief, and I don't need to prove that to anyone. If they have evidence to the contrary, they can play their hand, and I wish them luck. II totally agree and notice that rights are never taken in one sweeping motion but erode over time as we become comfortable and complacent with each step and change in laws. I have nothing to hide but why should I give some one free reign to intrude in to my life? SO this one time at band camp..... "Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most."

Wow a lot of people are will to give up their rights to a frigin retail store. Once a transaction is completed they can not stop you from there to see your receipt (They can for Storys that you sign for a member ship as that is part of the agreement you sign for) You can only be detained if they have witnessed you committing the act of theft. Walking out of the store and refusing to show your receipt is well with in your rights. As for the police in Ohio http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/2921.29 No person who is in a public place shall refuse to disclose the person’s name, address, or date of birth, when requested by a law enforcement officer who reasonably suspects either of the following: (C) Nothing in this section requires a person to answer any questions beyond that person’s name, address, or date of birth. Nothing in this section authorizes a law enforcement officer to arrest a person for not providing any information beyond that person’s name, address, or date of birth or for refusing to describe the offense observed. Effective Date: 04-14-2006 Sure it’s easier to just roll over and give up right out of convince , other feel different about this and exercise their legal rights to refuse to show a receipt turned in to a major rights violation by the police!!! He was a passenger and they had no authority to ask for a drives license as he was not the operator of the vehicle!!! Hr complied in identifying him self. Why are people looked at as being a jerk or asshole just because they refuse to roll over and take the easy route even though it violates their personal rights? SO this one time at band camp..... They have a deal with UPS for shipping and brokerage as it is being returned to you there is not the usual duty and other crap the UPS charges the big $$ for on regular shipments. Cost me $36 Canadian a year ago for shipping after exchange rate. I normally avoid UPS for shipping to Canada as you have knowledge of is they gouge you for brokerage I only paied duty on the batery as it was a Cypres 1 sent for service From SSK http://www.cypres-usa.com/Cypsrv20050108.pdf When sending from Canada, we suggest United Parcel Service. We have developed a method to ship your CYPRES to SSK “Freight Collect” (see www.CYPRES-USA.com - UPS will bill SSK’s importer account, the cost will be added to your invoice). Recent problems with the US Postal Service / Canada Post have led us to negotiate discounted rates with UPS for Expedited / Express shipping costs to and from SSK (including insurance, approx. $30.00 US) and we pass the savings on to you! Note: shipping, insurance, and routine brokerage fees are included in this amount, you should only have to pay duty and taxes on the cost of the “repairs” (service and parts). GST, and PST, if applicable in your province, will be billed to you separately by UPS, usually after the delivery of your CYPRES. If you elect to use Canada Post to ship to SSK, Purolator and Xpresspost-USA allow some form of tracking and insurance coverage. However, our policy is to return via UPS Express (Refer to January 8, 2005 Canadian customer letter). When your CYPRES is returned, your country’s duty and tax laws will apply to the cost of “repairs” (service and parts). These charges may be billed to you before or after the return of your CYPRES. Boston band, been around about 10 years. Pretty popular band in our house, but a lot of people don't know them yet. I keep thinking they'll make it big someday. Their old lead singer has a band called Street Dogs, not too bad. Bought one of their CDs when they came here with The Bouncing Souls. That's another great band to catch if you can. That they are caught a show here in Toronto with them when a frind came up from Alanta , I almost missed that they were in town SO this one time at band camp.....
