Entered into English from the Italian in which it means roughly "bartender" (plural: baristi [masculine or mixed sex] or bariste [feminine]). The term is derived from the Italian use of the word bar, which is similar to the American or British café. In Italy, the barista typically works behind a counter, serving both hot (such as espresso and other coffee-based ones) and cold alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. When using the term in English, "barista" refers to one who has acquired some level of expertise in the preparation of espresso-based coffee drinks. Within certain circles, its meaning is expanding to include what might be called a coffee sommelier; a professional who is highly skilled in coffee preparation, with a comprehensive understanding of coffee, coffee blends, espresso, quality, coffee varieties, roast degree, espresso equipment, maintenance, latte art, etc. most do not eaven come clost tothis as all they do is follow pre set instructions on how to make the stuff. Most are just trying to sound trendy instaed of being called a mimium wage service monkey. Now goign to a cood Itilan coffe sho then your talking good expresso SO this one time at band camp..... Woman denied right to use marijuana as life-saving medication
Armour666 replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
That’s a crock their are many drugs the FDA have approved that has some pretty harsh side effects in an some case kills people due to the effects. When you talk about smoking causing cancer I think a cancer patient or some one with HIV or other life ending illness isn't too worried about that for most it's about quality of life and extending their time here. The less they eat and can nourish them self the quick the succumb to their illness that’s a proven fact. How can you have more proof when various federal Arms from politicians, the DEA to the FDA interfere with universities and Doctors wanting to do proper studies and clinical trials. Bit of a chicken and the egg situation you put there. SO this one time at band camp..... "Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most." -

Right to life, and Right to use an illegal drug to live?
Armour666 replied to unformed's topic in Speakers Corner
there is very little evidence at this point because of the governments and DEA's stance on the drugs. And studies are routinely turned down from other countries by the FDA due to political pressure. So unless the Government stops this and allows proper studies to follow normal FDA guide lines including phase studies then there will continue to be now definitive facts. There was a recent 87 page ruling that a doctor fought 7 years to begin phase II study of people smoking cannabis but the DEA continued to block in because they deemed to have already determined what they thought the Phase II results were going to be and concluded that because of this potential of not being able to accurately measure the effects of smoking cannabis and track blood levels of THC they feel that the phase II should not be approved. Since when was the DEA involved in FDA standards? Feb 2007 Ruling Dr. fight against DEA to conduct research SO this one time at band camp..... "Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most." -
But how do you enforce the non US based companies to comply? that’s the short sightedness in this whole thing it's the internet unless you pull a China in control your entire infrastructure none of these plans will work and the TDL controlled my the US is becoming less and less a factor in the global scheme of things. [replyThe "Cannabis specialists" do more harm than good IMO. And if pot is such a wonder drug the FDA should look at it an allow it. Thats where the problem is the FDA will not fund or do testing as it's politicle masters can not be seen and condoning a drug they say is so highly dangerous. Look how draconian they have reacated to this case. Canabius is a Scheduel I drug Schedule I drugs Findings required: (A) The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse. (B) The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States. (C) There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision. but cocaine and PCP is a scheduel II drug Schedule II drugs Findings required: (A) The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse. (B) The drug or other substance has a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States or a currently accepted medical use with severe restrictions. http://www.heraldtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070314/NEWS/703140547 This is an important rulling that show people still have right in here own house eaven if it dealing with the police. I hope the Courts here in Canada take notice of this. Edited for additional links there is a lot more to this storry then the firs one that puts much more information on the intional event. Traffic stop two years previous when a an ofice made an mistake an the guy was pepered sprayed and hit with baton" http://shedit.us.publicus.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061206/NEWS/612060472/-1/xml "But a judge dismissed Coffin's misdemeanor resisting arrest charge Tuesday, saying the deputies weren't even supposed to be serving the injunction or entering her garage. That's because Coffin's husband, John, had been served with the civil papers five days earlier in Charlotte County. And the deputies did not have a search warrant or arrest warrant allowing them to enter the Coffins' house. Cynthia Coffin's attorney, Derek Byrd, said it would have taken deputies about a minute to check whether the injunction -- a restraining order that was part of a landlord-tenant dispute -- had already been served." http://shedit.us.publicus.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060428/COLUMNIST36/604280446/1053/NEWS0103 "Anyway, when the deputy came to their door to serve the order, Coffin and his wife, Cynthia, were apparently wary. Two years ago, he had had a flukish and traumatic run-in with a Manatee County deputy. That deputy had misread their car tag and mistakenly suspected Coffin was up to no good and perhaps dangerous. That mistake led to Coffin being pepper sprayed and clubbed in his sister's yard, and then arrested. The charges were dropped, but the experience upset Coffin so much that he filed a federal lawsuit." "Cynthia, through lawyer Derek Byrd, says she didn't like it when she saw Lutz peering through a window. The arrest report says she ignored Lutz's further knocks and started closing blinds and locking doors, "thereby obstructing his lawful duties," according to the Sheriff's Office." "By then, another deputy had arrived. When Cynthia Coffin came out to her garage to complain, the deputies threatened her with arrest if there was "further resistance," the report says. When she turned to walk away, "the deputies feared she was going to enter the residence and lock the door," according to the report, and so, "to avoid further obstruction" they "grabbed her arms to place her under arrest." More about the Two Cops and their reactions http://www.heraldtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070316/COLUMNIST36/703160622/-1/xml[url] "They used a technique that Cynthia says took her arm out of its socket and put her on the floor. She screamed. Her husband, who also has no criminal record, and was wearing only a T-shirt and underwear, hurried out to help her. That resulted in a melee. Brandau Tasered John Coffin twice, but he still managed to wrestle the Taser from her and push and lock her out of the house. Lutz, who needed six stitches on his head after being clubbed with the Taser, said he passed out briefly but then arrested the couple at gunpoint. It was awful for them all. In court, Lutz said he has had memory problems. Brandau described sleepless nights, and tearfully and angrily urged a prison sentence for John Coffin. She said she had feared for her life and would have shot him had she been able." Judge David Denkin recently threw out the "obstructing officers" charge against Cynthia, for obvious reasons: Her arrest was absurd. She had no obligation to help serve civil papers, or allow the deputies in. Any process server must know that. Brandau still wanted prison for Coffin on the one remaining charge: taking the Taser from her. The judge said no. Coffin took that Taser because it was being used on him as he fended off an illegal arrest by intruders. I wish Brandau and Lutz would show a little sign that they get that. But Brandau only slammed the justice system. Neither deputy acknowledged acting wrongly. SO this one time at band camp..... "Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most." -

get a LCD then you dont have to worry about the refresh rate, I alway take higher refresh rate as possiable and stay away from 60hrz since thats the frequency cycle for north america power and if you have florecent lighting and some transformer type of ligghting you'll get a flicker that you might not realy notice but over time gives a lot of eye strain.
