How's going Marko, I can see Darren flying V Power. What did you fly and did you docked? Was it at the FinFlock or later? The canopy looks like Petra, so I suppose is much faster than Leila under the same WL's = easier for WS pilot. reg. j. Back to Poland... back home.

"As far as this video goes...a wingsuiter flying flat, viewed from a highly-loaded canopy descending at a rapid rate does not suggest the wingsuiter is flying "up." " With all respect DSE, where do you see a "highly loaded canopy" as the reference point? the person with the camera is wearing a WS without collapsed arms either leg wings which are huge brakes against "rapid" descent of the "canopy". neither I doubt that the WS flyier filming the flaring WS guy is under Velocity to create such an visual illusion of climbing up the WS flyier. He went up for a limited time and height but he did. best regards jps Back to Poland... back home.

would that fit under the suit? any examples? have anyone tried something like that in reality? j. Back to Poland... back home.

Hi, Occasionally from time to time 3/4 times a year in a nice cracking location at the sea cost are organized some jumps. It's not a DZ normal operational place. Due to the fact, that literally there is mostly water surrounding the airfield, life vests (provided by the organizer) are mandatory or let's say required. As we jump WS with zippers it is not really possible to use them. I figured out that it would be much more handy to have an old (cable) type of a WS (i.e. Ph2 or similar) to wear the life vest. the back straps of the vest can be routed via the cable wing attachment. However with zips it is not really possible. Routing the vest straps via harness holes interfere with the handles. So do any of you guys might have some sort of idea what kind of life vests/floating devices could possibly be used without much restrictions or safety issues (i.e. limiting movement or accessibility to safety handles) in that sort of situations? Any (serious - not bath duck type etc.) ideas? regards j. Back to Poland... back home.

from the mechanics perspective, don't you think that putting pressure on the rears you start to have some sort of semi ridgit (not pinned any more) connection from statics point of view? Off course the amount of force translating by the rears to the hands and body is much less than thrugh the fronts, but still there is some changes in the statics (even slight). So it might have some influence in to the performance other than aerodynamics. regs. j. Back to Poland... back home. -
thanks, but it is pretty old thread, isn't it? maybe some new info would be useful as some of the guys could change /adjust theirs opinions. thx janusz ps. I seriously considering buying 105 or 95 right now Back to Poland... back home.

contact to IPC, Most of the AFFI's are USPA and PAI (Parachute Association of Ireland) rated AFAIK. There is plenty of them to do the course. Recently during long week jumping there was plenty of AFF's done. The only and really only problem which I can see is the weather ;) usually wind and low cloud base is a problem. http://www.facebook.com/skydive.ie FB page that's the closest to Dublin. There is also one in Northern Ireland (Wild Geese) but not sure if they can do AFF as per USPA. good luck with weather j. Back to Poland... back home.

Buying western union from POLAND in classifieds
JanuszPS replied to dcjulie99's topic in Gear and Rigging
Shall we all read the very first post? there is nothing about an age, condition or airworthiness of the canopy, there is a concern about the seller and possible scam. There is a question if skydiverek as a seller is a legitimate person. Moderators should react on off topic rigging discussion j. Back to Poland... back home. -
Buying western union from POLAND in classifieds
JanuszPS replied to dcjulie99's topic in Gear and Rigging
there is the same risk in buying in Poland as in US, I cant see lil difference. if you talking about person with nick Skydiverek http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?username=skydiverek;, he's been here for ages so I dont think there is any risk at all involved in buying any goods from him, although I never bought myself from him. just my opinion janusz Back to Poland... back home. -
did you contact Atair Slovenia/Stane about that? I'm not sure but asked once on the phone he said yes to me. But I didnt finalize as I changed size to smaller one. j. edit: Roq would do that AFAIK. Back to Poland... back home.

Dropzone.com purchase (Caveat Emptor)
JanuszPS replied to 43_echo's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Out of curiosity, do you get what you ask for? I also ask and very often what is get is couple of bad quality camcorder made screen shots. For whatever reason, very often sellers don't send pictures... It's not an excuse, but a reason of not getting valid information and big disappointment while opening a box. In terms of the buyer, in my opinion it doesn't really matter if the canopy waited a month for inspection. Is winter, most likely canopy wouldn't be jumped in that time, so there wouldn't be any valid reason for "exposing" the canopy to any damaging environment (in common sense). I also agree that in this case there is a difference in definition/understanding of "good condition". j. Back to Poland... back home. -
As a matter of fact it is not always an issue with all manufacturers. As example High Performance Research in their manuals for Blade and Nitro provided very detailed information about the name/symbol of the fabric used for the canopy. It should be a standard for all manufacturers though. liks: http://www.skygear.de/Downloads/manualnitrokomplett.pdf http://www.skygear.de/Downloads/manualbladekomplett.pdf just wonder if it is possible to get enough fabric to supply a manufacturer for building a canopy of that fabric on request? would that be a problem to have for example a xfire made of that fabric if supplied to them? reg. janusz Back to Poland... back home.

Can the mods change the title to "Cobalt"? "colbolt" wont work in the search properly. In terms to the canopy choice at your level, everything was said before. I have had jumped three cobalts in different sizes/WL/jump no. and I loved the canopies. Wait for it till you have more jumps and are ready. j. Back to Poland... back home.

cos I don't speak German/French? and the subject already exists in the main forum. But I might try, although I would think that every eng. speaking person surfs in this place. reg. j. Back to Poland... back home.

Any more info about that canopy so far? More firs or even second hand opinion would be appreciated. reg. Janusz Back to Poland... back home.

That was a good question ;) My only worry is why that fabric is called as "Aerodyne zp" as for example bunch of other manufacturers used it that time. I've been flying 3 cobalts and I'm searching for another one (Atair), Contrail by PV (Firebird now), etc. So why "Aerodyne zp"? ;) just for curiosity. Personally I love that fabric so that's why I'm hunting for Cob Comp 95 now. It's a pity that it's not made any more. In terms of durability I don't see any difference between the normal slippery ZP and that one. But the benefit of easy packing can be easily paid by slightly bigger packing volume in my opinion. Another question is what fabric was used by PV (Performance Variable) for their canopies to build Demon's and Cayenne's as it wasn't exactly Gelvenor which I know from my Cobalts. regs. j. Have you search on the forum for cobalt's packing advice? http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=11855;search_string=cobalt%20packing;#11855 I currently have two cobalts 120 (for fun) and 150 (for WS) and I owned 135. The 135 was a little tricky to pack. In general I pro pack all of them. My current 120 and 150 give me great openings, very soft and on heading nearly every time. Recently I changed steering lines from cascade down in my 120 as the openings started to be faster and less enjoyable than earlier. It helped a lot. So first check your steering lines and maybe all of them. I try to pack neatly every time. when I finish dealing with the lines I quarter the slider and put more slider on the front of the canopy. I make sure that the slider is all way down on the stops. Than I make some kind of hood from the slider putting the middle slider edge on the slider stops from the front and the rear side of the canopy. Than I roll 3-4 times the three outer cells on both sides. After that I nicely expose the 3 centre cells and I dont push the cells deep into the packjob, rather I leave the nose exposed. Than I roll the canopy very tidy. The rest is just absolute standard. I have tried this technique on a bad/fast opening Demon 110 and it works well. I'm sure that I dont really need to do that on my current anopies, but this is some how some kind of habit now after my previous Cobalt 135, as before reline it had some fast and hard openings occasionally. I have considered to make H-mod to my 120, but from Stane (Atari Slovenia) I heard that this would longer the opening time, which I don't want as my 120 opens already very slow. Although I would prefer to have a canopy with longer recovery arc/stronger dive. In relation to the canopy choice +1 to the others so I won't repeat them. good luck and search for some advice in the previous topics stated in this forum. Cobalts are lovely canopies, we know taht :) as well as there are some bad ones. I have two cobalts bought on classifieds and there is no problem with them at all (150 for WS and 120 for fun). The one which I've had problems (135) with hasn't been bought in here, as a matter of fact... So with some respect I disagree with that opinion. For general info I use Radical's manual and submitted earlier lines chart. I'm currently in a chase for CC105 or Radical in that size (anyone want to give out one of them?) ;) regards janusz Back to Poland... back home.

Sorry to hear that :/ I doubt that there is a real way of protecting your gear all times, otherwize you would need to carry it every time. the only way to fight with this is the CCTV which is not that common. j. Back to Poland... back home.
