    I've replaced pads that had plenty of meat left. Replacing pads is fairly cheap, especially when you do it yourself. I replaced my Mazda's pads at 45k. both to kill an intermittent brake warning light (low fluid), and b/c I have no idea about its previous owner's driving habits.

    I'm pissed off that us guys are cut and happy that women aren't. I find the practice of cutting boys equally as disgusting as cutting girls. In a perfect world, circumcision wouldn't be a widespread practice period.

    I had mine replaced at 3 weeks. They set my elbow at about 100 degrees on the first cast, a little further out the second. Made it a lot easier to drive a stick.

    I had a long arm cast on my left arm after fracturing my scaphoid and ulna . I thought about cutting it off several times in the 10 weeks I had it. I resorted to threading baby-wipes into a .22 rifle rod slot-end and fishing it down both ends. Gets rid of the stink for a few days and feels heavenly, tho I ripped out lots of hair.

    In most cases I'd agree. I was stationed in Korea for a year and dropped my coverage completely. When I came back, my rate with a different carrier was less than when I left, mostly a function of buying insurance in a different state.

    I have Geico for auto and USAA for renters. I've heard really good things about USAA, but they quoted me a much higher rate than Geico for significantly less coverage . I had Mercury for a several years and Farmers for about a year, both under my parents' policies. I have the fortunate problem of only being able to rate my insurance carriers on the basis of their rates. In 13 years of driving, I've never had a claim to file .
