  1. I will try to get over sometime. In the summer I have two months off between the end of my placement and going back to uni and I plan on doing as many jumps as I can afford. UK jumping is soooo much better in the summer! Francis
  2. I've jumped all over the place - my static line course and my first jump was at Netheravon as that is the dropzone that my uni club goes to. That was december 2004, I didn't jump after that till Easter, in Seville on the BCPA (British Collegiate Parachute Association) trip - 24 jumps there. Then I've jumped at South Cerney which is my local DZ - 2 miles from my house! Also jumped at Weston and Cark at other BCPA events but I finally went out to Empuriabrava and switched to AFF and did it all (8 levels, 10 consols and 10 solos) out there. I've jumped once at South Cerney since I came back but my next jump could well be at Hinton at the next BCPA meet. I really have managed to go to quite a few DZs for such a small number of jumps!! Francis
  3. Congrats - that's a good effort getting qualified so quick. I got my A License a few weeks back - after 55 jumps!! (it was those 37 static line progression jumps here and there with the UK weather that held me up) you're certainly beating me on the post numbers too! Francis
  4. I finally got my A License last week after a year in the sport! I started on static line in the British winter - not good for jumping! I was getting through the levels very slowly - 17 five second delays!! Eventually, after 37 jumps I was on 15 second delays which were pretty good. Unfortunately, I then moved and started my placement year, all of which meant I didn't jump for 5 months by which point the British winter had come around again! So I decided to chuck it in and go out to Empuriabrava and do AFF. Best decision of my life!! I stormed through the levels, 10 consols and the hop'n'pop and even got 10 solos done before my 2 weeks were up! Looking back I can't believe that I found it so hard on RAPS. But I've got my A license now and all I have to do is tighten my belt for a bit while I pay off the money I spent on the course!! I'll have to start saving for a rig now too.... I think that this is going to be the start of a beautiful relationship!! Francis
