  1. I have to agree with everyone else here that there is no such thing as too cold. Like ColdDuck I also jump in Mn and have never had a problem with the cold. This year has been unusually warm so the coldest I have jumped in is high twenties, low thirties on the ground. It is kinda cool to land on snow though. The view is also kinda neat from the air, especially when the snow is new and fresh, and you can get some really neat reflections and light paterns off the snow. As for staying warm, layering is the way to go, like canopycudler said. I also think that it is better to be too cold than too hot. I do not like packing when it is hot out.
  2. Funny you should mention nose 'cause you could use the nose if you wanted to use other body parts. Nothin' like a little nasal intercourse.
  3. Here is another question...when does chronic masturbation become too much? Like if you only had one day to masturbate then you don't know when you can do it again? Or how much is too much on a daily basis? This is all hypothetical ofcourse.
  4. >>We've also perfected how to have sex with our snowsuits on Dude, it only counts as sex if it is with another person...reaching down your snow suit and giving it a good whack does not constitute sex.
  5. These are all excellent points but in Parachutist the guy had a cell phone on FOR A SWOOPING CONTEST. Seems strange no? Don't they do hop and pops during those things? Kinda hard to land that far out from 3 or 4 grand. I don't know, seems funny to me. By the way, calling someone during a cross country sounds like a cool idea, I think I might have to steal that idea.
  6. Okay, so in Parachutist this month they said one of the guys at the swoop meet in Peris Valley crashed into the pond with a cell phone on his person. My question is why a phone? Are you waiting for your sponsers to call? Dose Cobalt Dan call Chuck Blue up a lot in the middle of a swoop..."Okay Chuck...do good now, bye." Who do you call that you would need to have a phone in the airplane and under canopy???
  7. Okay, here is a variation on an old question. If there is no video of somthing, but there are photos, did it happen? And if you attended an event, but do not have the t-shirt from this event, did you really go? Deep thoughts
  8. Happy Birthday. Congradulations on surviving another year :)
  9. Good year overall Number of jumps this year 63 (up from 4 last year) Highest: ~15K Lowest:~5K Most memerable jump: First night jump was pretty cool, as was my AFF graduation jump. They are all good Malfunctions: 0 Lots of good times on the DZ where I meet the most amazing woman I know.
  10. This is the sort of information that I am trying to find in this type of forum. I have spent hours looking for articles on flight techniques and aerodynamics. I think it is also safe to assume anyone reading these posts is the same way. So do not worry about a post getting "too detailed boring", any information that you feal like sharing is greatly aprecieated. I think I can speak for all of the newer jumpers when I say that it is real cool when the more experinced guys share their knowlage. So CobaltDan, Riggerrob, Alan, Skymonkeyone, and any of the other long time jumpers who are knowlageable about cannopy flight and design thank you for the information that you have provided and please continue to do so. The information is NEVER "too detailed boring".
  11. I am so happy right now because I am lucky enough know the most wonderfull girl on the planet. She is a skydiver too!!! I tried to explain to her just how happy she makes me and all I could come up with was how I felt after my first jump and she knew exactlly what I was talking about. She was speachless for the FIRST time since I have known her. I am the happiest guy on earth. Yeah, I know its sappie but I don't care. I just hope the weather is good this weekend so we can jump together thus combining the two best things in my life.
  12. I actually didn't mind. It was symetrical so it didn't start to turn or anything. It just opened reall slowly, kinda nice I thought. Was there any danger inherent in that type of opening that I don't know about? The end cells would always pop open with just simple break pumping.
  13. Our DZ also has a skymaster in its student program. It is used as a trasition canopy. I used it and really liked it. It opened super soft. Strangely it always opens with the two end cells closed. I don't konw if this is a design thing or what but it made the openings soft!!! One student cut away from it though because they paniced when the end cells didn't open and didn't think to pump the risers. Because of the ZP top skin you can get a little surf out of it which is just cool.
  14. >>(Does that make me a whore?) huh, huh..you said whore. Actually, if you come visit our DZ in MN I would be more than willing to bring you back to my place and treat you like a whore. Just offering to be friendly.

    Spotting

I am no expert in spotting but I would say it is definatly a trial and error process. I have been lucky to be able to jump at a smaller DZ where there was time to actually have people in the plane to help me out when I was learning. For example, on Cesna loads with myself and two Tandems, the Tandem masters would look over my shoulder and help me out. One of our pilots was a jumper himself so he was really helpful in learning how to spot because he would make sure you were not being too stupid. There is no real point to this post, just that I am greatfull to the skygods who helped me out.
  16. Everyone look in this months Parachutist mag...Look in the liscense section. A-39028 :) oh yes! I got the thing July but now that it has been in the mag it is for real.
  17. Warning---bad joke ahead The worst part is, that's his mom :O Okay, that was bad
  18. Yeah, I ment people who enforce the beer board as in owing beer. But they do more too, they control the board and make sure you get caught whenever you do a first (it's all good natured ofcourse). I just think it is a really clever play on USPA....but that is just me.
  19. Now aren't most BASE canopies low aspect seven cells? And isn't this canopy a high aspect eliptical? Pretty sweet!
  20. So do any other DZ's have a USBA (United States Beer Association)? At our DZ these are the folks who "enforce" the beer board. As far as I can tell it was started at our DZ by one of our old school jumpers. So is this really a nation/world wide thing? And if not, should it be?
  21. Okay, maybe this has been done before but as you can see I am a Newbie. What do peoples screen names here mean. Are there any funnys stories behind any of the names? My screen name is not clever, just attached the world flyin' to my name.
  22. So anyone here done anything illegal lately? If so when and where? Could you include your age, name, weight, number of jumps, and social security number with your posts. Thanks!
  23. Some one predicted that the BASE question would come up. Who was it...they should step forward and give us all an "I told you."
  24. Is it just me or is this cliton dude getting kinda creepy? No, I mean all the way creepy. PS Dire Straits is kewl.
