  1. Dude. My advice. Get Laid!, go to the army, get a good paying job and then return to skydiving. The more you condense your jumps the more you'll learn. = money. I did my first tandem at 19 and loved it, but I didn't do an AFF course till I was 28. It will always be here. Never try to skip a stage of natural progression...
  2. I totally agree...balance is cool. Especially when on a skateboard. But want I think I really wanted to hear was tales of woe from all you experienced skydivers. Like how and when skydiving turned your whole world upside down. And what you achieved to go and get it. Never try to skip a stage of natural progression...
  3. Ok here goes. I have returned to my hometown recently to change my career in an attemp to settle down a little. It was here that I did my first tandem at age 19 and it seemed fitting to go do the AFF course that I always wanted to do. So I did and I'm loving the sport. Now I approach my 30th and all I want to do is skydive but I can't see myself earning bugger all, not skydiving as much as I'd like and never owning a house. So I have sourced a new job in the mines earning a packet of money, and plenty of time off for skydving. Now it's decision making time. Most of the advice I'm getting is from wuffos and I'm sure you can all imagine what there all saying... So that leads me to my question. When was it all or nothing for you? What decisions did you make and what cool stories do you have regarding this subject. Thanks a bucket...
  4. I'm wondering what size lense (mm) I will need to fit a Sony PC 108. And what size (3-5) will work the best. Cheers, Never try to skip a stage of natural progression...
  5. Quotesuch nonsense with all this rubbish. two words... psycho pack. Quote Heh heh, Not sure about the psycho pack yet. I've seen the video and seems like it would be fast way to get it in the bag but I'd need to have some supervision I think and no one packs like that over here. Well form what I've seen anyways Cheers... Never try to skip a stage of natural progression...
  6. Howdy, Just wondering what gear you camera flyers fly and what would be your dream set up with stills and video. It may be a little premature but I'm about to receive a decent sized tax check and I want to put a camera on my head as soon as I get the jumps up with a view to getting work running camera. blue skies and, thanks a bucket... 7. I did my AFF course out at T'wah and still jump out there as much I can today. We get many international people at the dropzone coming over just for AFF courses or even just to take skydiving holidays. So the place has a good friendly international type vibe. From what I hear it is one of the best places to skydive in the world. And why not the weather is great the people are really very helpfull and the coaches have alot of experience and really give you all of their time. They also know how to throw a bloody good party. You should talk to Al the pilot when you arrive he has been there since it started I think and still "get his knees in breeze" whenever he's not training. I think he owns 6 planes now. Actually I think we have about 4 skydiving pilots out there that I know of. So there are plenty of people around who can give you a pilots perspective. See you when you get here. 8. I have the same clour canopy exatly and I asked the same questions when I bought it. It was explained to me that white is the only colour that will not fade as coloured canopies are stained from a white base. So any lighter colours will fade back to white quicker than darker ones. Any thoughts on this? Never try to skip a stage of natural progression...
  9. Heh heh, I'll let you know how it goes when I try it out. Hopefully tonight if all goes well. Tdog, I'll try that too but I like to keep my weight on he canopy as much as possible with little movement. Cheers all... Never try to skip a stage of natural progression...
  10. Cheers Rob, I always 'S' fold first which probably lets more air into the canopy than doing it last as you have described. I guess it would help to leave your slider and tail folds in place too. And you only get off your canopy once reducing the risk of more air inflaing the canopy and movement within. I'll give it bash when I get home. Thanks again wise Guru!! Never try to skip a stage of natural progression...
  11. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone can give good advice on getting the canopy in the bag neatly while keeping everything square and intact. I know it comes down to practice mostly but most of the tips I have received are not really working for me. My canopy is a good tight fit in the bag and I always end up stuffing it a fair bit. I havn't really had any hard openings but yet but theres been a few off heading openings. Any thoughts? Never try to skip a stage of natural progression...
