Yuri, It doesn't matter if its legal or illegal. What matters is you have been labeled unsafe by the jumpers at The Ranch. I think its time for you check that ego and attitude at the gate when you come to DZ. In our skydiving carriers we all do stupid things but to be labeled unsafe takes a lot more than just doing a couple stupid things. It mostly takes just not listening to people. I approached you about something you were doing that could seriously hurt other jumpers. I very politely explained to you why what you were doing could hurt or kill someone and asked you if you would stop. You shrugged me off like I didn't know what I was talking about and you said what you were doing was perfectly safe. You continued to do it. Thank God you seemed to lose interest in that activity. Its reasons like that you have been labeled unsafe. We didn't start this bounce bingo because we wanted to make fun of anyone in any way. Trying to talk reason to people who won't listen is very frustrating. Some people just don't want to here what the more experienced skydivers have to say. So if they don't listen, like you don't, we hope the people that are on this list might finally realize there is something wrong and they should address those issues. I know its a drastic measure to make something like that so public but it does work with some. Now you go and publicly threaten one of the most loved jumpers at our club with a law suit Instead of asking why did I get on this list. You have a lot of work to do before people start to think your safe let alone just like you. If you want to find someplace else to jump then by all means contact the FAA, USPA, FBI, PETA and get a good lawyer and take some girl to court who has nothing but her love of skydiving. If you want to keep jumping at The Ranch start listening to people, ask questions about how you could be safer and figure out why no one will jump with you. --Grouper P.S. It wouldn't hurt by starting with an apology to Kim. (insert philosophical quote here)

Some people are talking about putting something together. they want it to be a parody and a pond swoop documentry. I think the current title is "Apondalypse Now". But i think the production of what we want to do is a little past our means. there will be plenty of video out there during the meet. So maybe some body will release raw footage. Ill see what the word is when i am up there this weekend. (insert philosophical quote here)

Don't think there is going to be a dvd this year. Or atleast i haven't heard of one. Marcus has not been around. And when he did do the other ones he was always around a couple weeks before the event to start taping. I think its to much work for very little pay off. (insert philosophical quote here)

Call Sonic. i am sure he would know who is heading up here from down there. (insert philosophical quote here)

Is there an official number for Cypress fires/saves?

Why is that craxy? Tom you should of been there sunday! (insert philosophical quote here) -
Lower controll lines. ITs only happening at the connection point below the eye. Not where the it attaches to the toggles. I think the friction on the eye is working it out. I just chenged them again. We will see if it comes out over the next few jumps. (insert philosophical quote here)

The picture i posted is one i made laying in bed just for this post. The ones i made for canopies are within the specifications. (insert philosophical quote here)

What your talking about is the complete opposite of what im talking about. I have had what your talking about happen to me all the time. But I just pull the line back inside instead of cutting it because it will keep coming out and you can only cut it so many times. Cutting the line with the problem I am talking about is not an option. You would be cutting off all the line that’s inserted. (insert philosophical quote here)
-
So what would you say is long enough? I leave about 5 inches inside the line. (insert philosophical quote here)

I am having a problem with the no sew finger trap. Right below the point where you flip the line threw it’s self to lock the finger trap in place the inserted part of the line is working its way out. It’s actually spreading the outside line and working it’s way out down the line. This has happened to me more than once. I have been using 1000lb micro line and have not used any other line so I am not sure if it will happen with any other line. I recreated the problem and attached a photo of it. Has anyone experienced this and come up with any solutions to this? (insert philosophical quote here)
-
Why don't we use microline for closing loops. Is it just over kill? (insert philosophical quote here)

Yeah well....At least I'm still jumping (insert philosophical quote here)

Brian, The weather is supposed to be in the 70's this weekend so I think everyone will be around. Of course your staying over this weekend. The holloween party is Saturday night at Cavu and we are all going to get trashed (except for John and Kim) and have a good time. Then wake up hungover and go jump some more. -Grouper (insert philosophical quote here)

Brian, The Ranch is currently organizing a mentor program. It should go into full affect at the start of next season. Manifest is putting together pamphlets that explain the system and a list of all the mentors. I don't think the pamphlets will be available until the start of next season. If you graduate before then talk to Kay-Way about the program and she will introduce you to one of us. I don't know who is teaching you how to pack but they shouldn't be expecting you to pack for free for them in return. At the most you should maybe just pay a small fee for packing lessons that last more than ten minutes. Find me I will teach you how to pack for free. -Grouper (insert philosophical quote here)

My altimaster stops counting down fairly often. I have to whack it a couple times to get it to go back to the proper altitude. Are their any remedies for this? Or do I need to send it back to company for maintenance? Or am I screwed and need to buy a new one? (insert philosophical quote here)

Screw another freefly camp next year and lets just get on with the TEQUILA BOOGIE! It was a blast thought. I would do another camp with those guys any day. (insert philosophical quote here) -
Wow...You cut down a tree all by yourself. Thats impressive

When at the ranch be sure not to make any sheep noises to anyone you don't know. Jerm will tell you what I am talking about. (insert philosophical quote here)
