  1. hahahahah the dog was acting "sexually aggressive" toward the veterinarian...the dogs have been trained to "rape women" so they get the death penalty. I'm sorry it's sad but that's kinda funny -- friggin Okies... "I believe the risks I take are justified by the sheer love of the life I lead" - Charles Lindbergh

  3. I wouldn't have realized how much awesome life is and would probably still be floating through without passion, I would have never met my soulmate, or any of the other wonderful people who've come into my life the past couple years, would still be bartending and making a LOT of money...to name a few. 5. Sounds like an incredible trip!!! Well the obvious choice for me would be Skydive Arizona, but I'm sure you're going to hear a multitude of answers!! Plus he certainly won't get that small dropzone feel from it! So the next obvious choice would be Skydive Atlanta or The Farm, both in Georgia -- awesome crowd -- I've never jumped @ The Farm, but I think it's a lot of the same crowd :) Then again, same can be said for Skydive Suffolk, in Suffolk, VA.... I currently don't have a place or I would offer it. Tell him to check out couchsurfing.com -- he can make a profile (free!) and find some couches to sleep on! 11. I would say that's generally true, but then again, you don't know my brother in law I've never found him to be wrong yet, but my thoughts were with highly unlikely as well. I did a short internet search and found nothing. Just wondering if anyone here remembers something like this. Thanks!!!!
  12. I'm having a discussion with my bro-in-law (non-jumper) and he said that he read a Reader's Digest article 20-30 years ago that described a double total malfunction in which neither parachute OPENED at all and the guy landed at terminal and survived. He was in the hospital for a while and he spoke of a PLF and that's all the info I have -- anyone know anything about this?? I've heard of a guy landing in trees and then snow after jumping out of a burning plane without a parachute and surviving, but this isn't the same story. Thanks! 13. Thanks for posting the pics! Wish I could have been there, but it wasn't in the cards for me this year. Looks like everyone had a blast!!! "I believe the risks I take are justified by the sheer love of the life I lead" - Charles Lindbergh
  14. I disagree -- you can make ANYTHING an excuse eg. it's been 20 min since the last BJ... Steak and BJ day is a perfectly good excuse for ladies to give their men steak and a BJ (or BJs) of course, it goes both ways. 15. What she said This is an interesting discussion -- everyone makes mistakes and can either learn from them or not. seems to me you have an open mind for learning. Thanks for posting - I'll be thinking twice now before buying gear that may badly effect my view. "I believe the risks I take are justified by the sheer love of the life I lead" - Charles Lindbergh
  16. My vote goes for Eloy (tunnel, food, bar, lodging, gym, lots o' cool planes, jumpers from all over the world, etc.) with the runner up being Perris/Elsinore area :) Perris is more business and has a wind tunnel and bar, and I personally think Elsinore is more fun, so go to both! They're about a 25 min. drive from each other. with a month off you can go to all sorts of dzs!!! Have fun!!! 18. Are either of these models firewire capable? I looked at Sony's website and couldn't find anything. I'm a newb, looking into eventually getting a cheap video camera to play with on the ground. For a very long time. And eventually get a helmet and bring it to the air. "I believe the risks I take are justified by the sheer love of the life I lead" - Charles Lindbergh
  19. easier said than done if the guy is bigger, stronger, a better fighter, and has adrenaline/rage on his side OH! and getting even more angry and violent because you hit him back but yes, that became my style, I wasn't a very good learner.. "I believe the risks I take are justified by the sheer love of the life I lead" - Charles Lindbergh
  20. I believe that once someone has snapped and used violence toward a significant other, the couple should split, EVEN if the person who acted in violence is really really sorry -- down on his/her knees begging for forgiveness, offering relentless apologies and gifts, etc. In my experience, a significant other who hit me didn't really want to but snapped, and felt like crap afterwards, but couldn't help it because he was a sick person (not psychologically sound, he had serious anger issues). unfortunately, the first time this happened (like this experience involving your friend) it didn't seem like a huge deal, I had never seen irrationality out of him prior to it (or for months after), but I left anyway -- then he demonstrated that he was very sorry and would do his best to "change," so I took him back. The next time it happened, I was deep into the relationship and at that point, too weak/unknowing/involved/scared to get out, and it took a LONG time and a LOT of courage (and a decent amount of beatings) to finally, eventually leave for good. The experience ended up making me a stronger person in the long run...though I hate that it happened that way. So my best advice, coming from my own personal experience, is for your friend to get out now, while it's still fairly easy. He may seem very sorry (or not, not sure how he feels about it) but that doesn't mean he won't snap again. And the circumstances may be completely different, but they might not. She deserves to be treated with respect, and there are many men out there who will do so.
