600 jumps in 24 hours by one man.
jumpingjimmy replied to skydiverek's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
to me, a parachute jump is a low level jump where your chute opens straight away (like his attempts) a skydive invloves some freefall, and mainly done from a lot higher than 2000 feet his website says 600 skydives, i'd expect to see him do 600 skydives, not 600 parachute jumps -

I'd like to see you tell Jay Stokes he's not a "proper" skydiver. Let me know when you plan to do that... I'll be sure to sell tickets. i didn't say he wasn't a proper skydiver -

top man for attempting it but its only skydiving by name... each jump by the sounds of it is JUST enough to qualify as a jump... not proper skydiving from 14,000 feet -
Buying beer for "firsts" an American thing?
jumpingjimmy replied to jumpingjimmy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Is this an American tradition more than anything? I did my AFF last year at what is arguably the busiest DZ in England (langar) and no mention of buying beer was made. I've not seen the tradition done by anybody at the DZ to be honest. Is it a tradition that is dieing out, or just mainly done in America? I see it a bit like tipping, i don't tip (if you want more money, go and get a better job, nobody makes you take a poorly paid job) so i dont really see why i should buy a case of beer for people who are already getting paid -
don't think bad of them , they can't help it they do it all the time at the slightest thing. Somebody gets a burger and they will "woop and holla" a septic does anything even remotely well, its "woop and holla" time i think the Brits have a bit more self control and class, but hey... i could be wrong

Anyone want to come to a talk about Saturn's Moons?
jumpingjimmy replied to jumper03's topic in The Bonfire
hmmmm, not too many takers so far -
i'm pretty sure there are some Americans who still believe Oswald did it all off his own back.... it would upset them to think that the country they love so much would kill their own president, oh no sir, no group (government, Mob, CIA) would possibly strike at the heart of America like that, it MUST have been a lone renegade mind you.,.... Americans do seem to have a liking for killing their own presidents... poor old Bonzo lover Ronnie Ray-Gun got shot as well didn't he

agreed, the Queen is a class act i'm very proud of the fact we have a monarchy (but like you, not too botherd about some of the minor royals, they have brought a bit of shame onto themselves) i love the tradition of it all, and the fact there are many countries who envy Great Britain just having a president would really piss me off, to me it's much better the sense of belonging i get from having a royal family we'te not called Great Britain for nothing

how come his brains ended up behind him (on the boot/trunk of the car) if he got shot from behind? wouldn't the force of the bullit make them go in the same direction? ie, forwards?
