  1. Saying "I was rear float" is not as fun or cool as being able to say "I was in the crotch". 182's definitely rock!! We didn't get to jump on Saturday because of weather, and I couldn't figure out why I was so tired on Saturday night considering Friday night was a low key night and I didn't do anything all day. I didn't have my 3-5 twenty minute naps on the ride to altitude in!!!
  2. Not here in MinneSNOWta, 1.5 inches of snow on the car yesterday morning, and its flurrying now. But Sunday was jumpable. We flew 4 loads at Wissota today (because there was only three of us there until 3:15pm when we picked up another). All hnp's but it was enough to get the breeze between the knees!
  3. Or at Skydive Wissota, we're open all year 'round! I live in Plymouth (for now) and I'm out at Wissota pretty much every weekend. Let me know if you are looking to car pool.
  4. I've done some dives that I have no idea what the actual formation looks like. I've watched competition video of my 4 way team and I've had to ask or look up to see if the point was right because I had no idea if my tail was suppose to compress or sidebody the inside center. You get line cues in acting. Continue this through process to skydiving/dirt diving.... "Chad's left leg, to Jamie's right arm, back to round", etc. People have laughed at me during me dirt diving in "my head", but in 541 jumps, I've brain locked once.
  5. I take back everything I ever thought about not tipping your instructor!
  6. Eeks...I was wrong. Before my time and I haven't seen anything like the "lens' picture. Maybe send Sky Systems the pictures and ask them. Good luck and sorry I couldn't help!
  7. I need some video editting help... Can anyone offer some help in getting the following added to Nero 7... I have a few DVD's that I'm trying to get captured onto/into Nero 7 to make one complete disc (along with a "movie" that I made on Nero already. I can get the video portions of the DVD's onto Nero but there is no sound. How do I get those DVD portions, with sound, captured onto Nero to make one DVD? Hopefully it all makes sense.
  8. Wow...it only took your 1200 jumps and 14 years in the sport to get your A license. ROCK ON!!!
  9. Can you post a picture of your helmet? I haven't been in the sport that long, so I might be wrong, and hopefully someone will correct me if I am, but I think.... Carbon Fire is a type of material the Sky Systems use to make their helmets. Makes them lighter I believe. My first helmet was a Factory Diver and had "Carbon Fire" (or maybe worn "Carbon Fiber") lettering stickers on it. It could be that your helmet is a Factory Diver or Oxygen but it was called "Carbon Fire" because that's what its made out of. I could be wrong though... If you post a picture, we'll have a better idea.
  10. When I started skydiving I bought a used Factory Diver and landed with it propt up on my head more than once my first winter. The following winter I bought a A3 so I wouldn't have to prop it on my head any more. It never fogged or iced up freefall but it would under canopy. I think I ended up opening the visor once last winter on the A3. My guess is that it had something to do with the new visor on the new helmet. I agree with Sandy: We don't change our face shields as often as we should. Make sure you breath through your mouth through the mouth hole and not through your nose or into the mask. And don't yell the count when you're on the outside of the airplane. Always have a plan on what you're going to do if it does fog up.
  11. Nope, no direct hits. One of the East Troy jumpers did come very close though. It hit about 10-15' from the car. If only they would have given a little 2-3 right/left correction...
  12. 0:4:1 One hnp on Friday and three formation loads on Saturday. Beer owed for first ash dive.
  13. It's official; Todd has done his last skydive. It was #5390. After dealing with a nice cloud layer at 1400' for the majority of Saturday morning, the afternoon brought beautiful blue skies. The ash dive, from the launch, to the release, to the round and right hand donut, went absolutely perfect. Thanks to all those in attendence, and special thanks to Mikey P. for making the release bag, and Kerry for coming over from Baldwin to do camera. Attached is "the money shot". Blue Skies Forever, Todd!
  14. Yeah. I just noticed about 10-15 minutes ago that they posted the scores for round 1.
  15. When does freestyle start? The schedule states that it suppose to start today but Omniscore isn't posting anything yet. I'm starting to get anxious!!! Like a crack whore with no crack!! Go Team Flew-ID!!!
  16. So the next thing to do is to mark it on the map. See attached. The red circle indicates where the car will be. The red line indicates jump run. Mark the spot!!!
  17. Exactly. It used to be that in youth sports you only got a trophy if you took 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Now everyone gets a trophy 'cause its good for "self esteem". 100's should get cupcakes. 1000's should get the pies.
  18. Obviously, you aren't a fan of swooping. Do you have bell bottoms on your swoop pants? But no, not a fan of swoop. Biproduct of getting to do my fiancee's ash dive this weekend.
  19. Here's my $0.02 First off, her suit is way too much fabric for her body type. She should have spandex arms at least. Then there's the "no booties booties". WTF? Not to mention the absence of grippers. I guess she's just "HNP Yasmin", although I never saw anyone get a trophy for HNPs. Goggles? Missing the googles. Obviously she's didn't SHAGG'd! The hair..oh the hair. It should be braided or its going to take her all night to comb that shit out. And its going to get in the way of packing. And I'll give her the benefit of the doubt because the picture is bad, but I don't see any three rings on her rig, and I know for a fact that the rig is not TSO approved. I really hope she's not planning on jumping it. Good to see that the made a skydiver doll though. Its good to plant that little seed in girls lives. We need more sista's!
  20. We get blamed for every pumpkin found smashed in the streets of Chippewa Falls every year. If we had the skills to be able to hit the streets randomly around town, certainly we would have hit the car in recent years!
  21. And no, I don't throw like a girl. Unless people are watching. But I've got a mean wrist shot and slap shot so its all good.
  22. 500 feet Door speed is more like 80mph. And while a pumpkin machine gun would be great, we can't take too many pumpkins with us because of airplane weight. We do the pass at 500' and then head to altitude to jump. Forecast states winds will be 12mph WSW. Pumpkin Run will be south the north due to the fact that the clubhouse is east of the target vehicle and there's a house west of the target vehicle. And yes, it car hasn't been hit for many, many, many years. If fact, when doing video the safest place to video from is standing on the car.
  23. Aaron, Talk to Mary about renting a Cypres. She deals with SSK all the time (including getting me a loaner last week because my Cypres went on the fritz and needed to be sent in).
  24. The patches for Todd Jacobson have arrived. They will be available to purchase this weekend at P-Toss. If you are not going to make P-Toss, not only are you lame, but you can send me money and I can mail one out to you. Patches are $2 to cover the cost, plus shipping and handling. Sending me a self addressed stamped envelope with the $2 also works. There is a picture of what the patch looks like here... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3363302#3363302
