    I just have a common sense based query.I have never heard this mentioned. Would a black or dark purple canopy be more susceptible to UV wear than a white or yellow one? I am sure darker canopies would at least get warmer in the sunlight. Is this something to think about when purchasing or is this just silliness?

    I am a student skydiver and I am researching some choices for a first canopy. I am 185 pounds which puts my exit weight at about 210. I am thinking that a 190 to 210 would be a good size for me to buy. I also think, from what I am reading, that the Spectre or Sabre2 would be a good choice of canopies. I will be trying to jump those models whenever I can. I would then get a 210 reserve as well. Any advice on this from you up-jumpers and riggers? Also, what would be "too many jumps" on a used canopy if I were planning on putting maybe 200-500 more jumps on this canopy? Thanks!

    My website is www.hackandslash.com. Our Christmas DVD has video of my first skydive in it. I studied a bunch of martial arts, but right now, I am focused on Jiu-Jitsu and Systema (www.russianmartialart.com). I do about eight shows a week that involve fast rapier swordplay. It keeps me pretty busy. :)

    Hello All, My name is Spence but most folks know me as Slash. I'm a full-time comedy performer and stage combat instructor/choreographer and I seem to have drifted into this crazy sport. I am just off of AFF and trying to make decisions on buying my own rig or renting for another year. It just seems better to have consistent control of your equipment since it's going to save your life. I jump at Skydive Delmarva, Skydive Atlanta and I'm spending a few weeks summer up at the Cleveland Parachute Club. I'm also going to check out Skydive Orange this summer since it's close to my home.
