  6. I got some troll food for you: 1) www.amf.com you will find this website the most important one in you skydiving career (just a hunch) 2) When/if you do start skydiving get rid of this account. I can't remember a more ridiculous post...ever. (If there is one, I wanna see it) 3) If you have the same mentality about kitesurfing, I want to hear back from you after you encounter a like-minded individual coming at you in and equal and opposite velocity as you. 4) This forum is not for the faint of heart. All holy cows are slaughtered equally. Spanking is common place. Egos get bruised and battered. But also, this place is quoted most often with regards to skydiving the world over. You mess with the bull...(you get the bull$hit) 5) The most disturbing thing about you is that you think that some of the posts are entertaining. They are! To the sick individuals we call our dys-fun-ctional family. You, however, need to realize that you trolled on something so unique that we all want to see the video of your epic fail. (pace-palm yourself now) 6) In some small way I actually wish that you are not a troll because this makes it to the top of the list for wuffo questions. And I am glad because this will have some funny replies. (0/10) for troll obviousness There are no dangerous dives Only dangerous divers
  7. This is a repost from the WS forum (my default) but I guess it is more appropriate here. http://www.swann.com/s/products/view/?product=1297 There are no dangerous dives Only dangerous divers
  8. -since you won't be good, be bad gloriously -If you land with a smile, the jump was good -In 4 way comp to the camera flyer: "Make sure the close-up of my pilot chute looks good" -JC while getting on the life flight helicopter:"Can my buddies jump off your ride?" -paramedic on the same life flight ride: "what happened?", JC:"I lost the game" There are no dangerous dives Only dangerous divers

  10. Good one! But since this is a comedy forum... Canopy pilots sit right next to the door and get out low minutes before everyone else and have a short freefall time Wingsuit "pilots" sit next to the pilot, get out high and after everyone else and have a long freefall time. What is a proficient pilot....not me for sure. I think backfly linked rodeo should be on a proficiency card somewhere. There are no dangerous dives Only dangerous divers

  14. Knowing full well that he is a wuffo, my friend asked how to tell if someone is a skydiver and not just full of crap? I think there are four questions he can ask with answers 1) Where's your home DZ? and how long does it take you to get there? (They should know the answer down to a tenth of a mile and minute) 2) How many jumps you got? 3) What size canopy do you fly? (37-280 sqft-might be Canni and might be a well rounded individual) 4) Do you owe beer? (correct answer: yes) There are no dangerous dives Only dangerous divers

  16. I think you need to save more of your sympathy for the guy whose life was put at risk for the sake of a measly 400 bucks. Your sympathy is wrongly directed IMO, towards a guy who could have been the "executioner" of an innocent skydiver. Your idea of a database for equipment though, is a good one. I have no sympathy for Justin at all if he is guilty but for now I feel sorry for him if he turns out to be innocent (until proven guilty) while he is already tared and feathered by us, who should rise above. I am not really concerned with what he did but rather what we are doing. I can't control his actions but I for one refuse to call him guilty until the due process has run its course. I guess that my (not so well spoken) point is that innocent people get convicted all the time and guilty ones go free all the time. (OJ didn't do it. MJ didn't do it. Clinton didn't inhale. WMDs were in Iraq. Artificial sweeteners are safe. Anna Nicole married for love. And the tooth fairy leaves money under your pillow.) I have all the sympathy in the world for the premature deployment skydiver and I never said otherwise. He is a victim no matter how you paint this crap. I am not sure if there is or isn't a database for AADs but I am starting a list and anyone who wants to PM me their gear details + serials...I am making a digital repository free for everyone and when I have enough numbers I will make it available free for anyone. I also welcome anyone who wants to help out. There are no dangerous dives Only dangerous divers
  17. I call bull$hit on that. The police have never arrested the wrong guy? Innocent until proven guilty, or guilty until prove innocent? What if he didn't steal it? What if the guy in charge of the testing told him that he does not care what he does with the units once they were done with the testing, but once a premature opening happened and the serial was tracked to the company...suddenly they are stolen goods? What if the reckless endangerment charge was piled on to gain leverage? Prosecutors do that all the time, they pile on every crime from here to the moon and then water it down to the ones they can get a conviction on. Suddenly everyone trusts the police and attorneys? I think we should all take a big step back and shut up for a while. Let the court decide what happened and who is responsible. Regardless of if you like the guy or not. we can all line up to take a dump on him when they find him guilty. And in case he is innocent (and he is, until proven guilty) we can remember that due process of the law is there to protect us. I am more concerned that there seem to be no easy way to enter an AAD serial number somewhere online and find out the history of the unit. Like the VIN with carfax or something like that. When I bought my used rig, the previous owner called Wings in Florida and they called me to confirm the serial number and ownership. It took 15 minutes to confirm the rig, reserve and main. He did have the original Cypress paperwork but unless you send them the unit, is there a way to get some info on an AAD? Wouldn't that have made it a non-issue? The buyer goes online before shelling out $400 and checks the serial. It should have come up as a "stolen" or "testing" unit or something other than regular. I feel bad for Justin. Not because he stole some AADs and got someone a premature opening. And not because he got caught and arrested and probably lose everything. I do feel bad that he does not get the benefit of the doubt from us. We are not judges or executioners and I don't want to be. There are no dangerous dives Only dangerous divers
  18. Phantom2+silhouette+1.1:1 wingloading=>what is this "line twists you speak of and why should I worry about them? Its not sexy or cool but a big, predictable canopy, that you can deploy while in a flat spin into line twists that sort themselves out before you even have time to unzip one wing is a good idea IMHO There are no dangerous dives Only dangerous divers

  21. Yes, the passenger needs to be able to pull. But also: -Not accidentally mess my stuff up while sitting on my rig -know the difference between a slightly unstable exit and a horrible flat spin. -know how to dismount without ripping up the WS (think GoPro snag) -Be comfortable launching a rear float exit while holding a riser flap. -Have enough experience to come back form a long spot. and so on... But I am being repetitive. I am not sure if just being able to "pull stable" and at the right altitude are enough for a successful "birdeo" but it is probably enough to attempt one. 22. +1 on Supergirl. Need to talk to the person ahead of time and make sure they are a heads up skydiver. I would like to know the person or at least someone who jumps with them. I feel much better taking a freeflyer from my home DZ than someone who just walked into the hangar (unless they are a "top heavy" 90 pound chick willing to do it in a bikini and get outside video) Or maybe they have someone vouch for them or something like that. We could hand out "rodeo cards" There are no dangerous dives Only dangerous divers
