I never thought go for reserve - When i saw the ground rush I automatically dumped my main - no thought about it - i just did it.......... anyone in that situation that dumps there reserve is one switched on guy............... its so different then getting out at 800 coz its your plan to dump your reserve - at the end of the skydive you dump your main - its your plan.......... 99.99% of people I reckon who find themselves as low as i was (800 / 700 ft at terminal) will dump their main.................. its natural reaction!........... Does anyone (preferably in the UK) have a copy of the film Stealin' Altitude? I tried to obtain one from a University in the USA where it is archived but they never came back to me. Well as my skydiving year is over as I am grounded for 3 months! I am reflecting on the past year – what has everyone else’s year held for them? For me…………….. Number of jumps in the year: 250 (quite good for the UK) Highest: 16,500 Lowest: 1,100 Most memorable: 1st CReW jump (downplane to 500ft) oh and of course the Cypress fire Quote of the year: “can we call it a day now” – those that know will remember that one!! Landing of the year: A student landing on the hanger and then saying “well I was not told NOT to land on the hanger” For me hooking into the deck and luckily walking away from it(got grounded though!) Aims for next year: more jumps than last year! and less groundings (7 this year) Anyone else add to the list of things for the year???
