  1. PG cutaway harness. http://www.xcmag.com/2012/04/cross-country-magazine-test-supairs-new-base-paraglider-reserve-system/
  2. I learnt Wriggle (ie Set), Up, Down Go.
  3. Jeez bro, makes whatever problems I have seem non events. Stay strong and keeping fighting my friend. Best wishes.
  4. After a break since late 2004 / early 2005 I got back in the air again last week - got 4 jumps in. And like the others said it felt like I was there only a week before; I didn't have that 'first feeling' jump, just felt continuious. You'll love it whatever you feel on the day. Stay safe
  5. That's exactly right, not sure what they'll want to see but heading, turns, stability etc ; weather not looking too good for rest of week here but as usual weekend better but have to work. Least gives me time to practise packing again.
  6. Thanks bro - looking forward to it.
  7. Hey Skymamma, good to hear from you again. Lucky enough to have two boys (1.5 and 3.5 yrs) and my wife newly pregnant now (though early days still). After I put skydiving on hold I convinced her that paragliding was safer so been flying those since roughly 300hrs now; no major incidents but few very scary moments. She's now come round to letting me lose on those DZs again. Happy days and just bought myself a rigg.
  8. Hi Guys - I've got caught up in the forum thing again and wanted to share my decision with the good folk here; guess what after a few years absence from the sport I'm getting back into it. Got a good deal on a Rigg, booked some tunnel time in and planning on getting a shadow dive next week. Packing very rusty, jump suit dusty, bit older few more aches and pains, few more kids than when I last posted here but I'm feeling in a better head space than before and hopefully will be able to maintain currency better. Last jumped in 2004 with only 60 jumps and B license to my name but I guess we all gotta start somewhere. I banking on a little bit of muscle memory and hopefully won't freak out
  9. Steve - I would recommend skydive Aurora run by Tomo here in the UK, they also work with Vegas Extreme Skydiving, give Skydive Aurora a ring, can't say better in my opinion. www.skydiveaurora.co.uk Good luck
  10. Good advice all, thankyou, it's just hard accepting 1010, but that's the plan. Thanks again.
  11. Thanks guys, I'll just knuckle down save the money and do the best I can. Just makes me jealous when friends head off every weekend. Don't get me wrong, I'm real happy for them, but a little green with envy. And Skymama the cost thing didn't help
  12. I'm new to these forums, hence the post here. I've been jumping for a few years but very on and off, last jump was end of last year. I'm a B license holder and love the sport, but have trouble funding the habit, only have 60 jumps total. I have a new family on the way and it's our first, but now having to support my wife and get enough money into the household and thought of jumping just can't be justified, at least not to my other half. I guess I just needed to voice my frustration, and no one here wants to listen, hence the post. How do you guys out there with familys cope, baby stuff is just so expensive. Is it now just a case of having to put skydiving on a back burner and return at a later date in life ( this last sentence was a tough one to write ). Sorry for the moan, but blue skies forever to all out there.

    happy days

Yesterday was a good day - and just wanted to share with all, finished off my AFF and enjoyed every second. Everyone that I've met at my DZ has been so cool, so I guess thanks to all and that's you lot too for making me a part of this great fraternity. Oh those happy days ...

    First Jumps

Hi there, well just wanted to share my joy at starting skydiving. I'm only on level 4 AFF, but already hooked, got the rest of my levels and consol jumps in the next couple of weeks. I've never experienced such a surreal sense of freedom, does that ever end? Many many thanks to my great instructor Tomo at SkydiveAurora.
