I'm guessing that is up there with Remember to Flare and Legs together and PLF.... which I saw a first timing AFF Level 1 student forget to do..... I was 100 feet away and I felt it. The guy broke his leg! -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

If you could design the perfect rig...

how about for tandem instructors, one that comes with that cup holder, you mentioned, and a dvd module for when they get bored. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=- -
Sweets thanks. I can probably make it out on Fridays. I guess I can skip work a few times. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

I remember myself saying some sort of crap like that when I had 100-ish jumps. Me too... Oh my god, I have become an old-timer... If all you senior jumpers were like that when you were around 100, I better look out then. So, if I do step out of line, you all have my permission to slap me! Preferably with my helmet on. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

I like how the rig is just chilling on the recliner... I'm not one for neon colors much, but it's sweet... Sto lat i na zdrowie! -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

Driving in a car alone with Larry will completely wipe out your thrill levels long before you get to SDLI. It's a good thing I'm going with a friend then. Ha. Thanks a lot for the warning. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

We are in the New York City area. I'm in Brookly and he is in Queens. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

I have a slight problem. Basically, my friend and I need to join in a carpool or start one with people in the New York City area (Brooklyn and Queens). We are AFF students at Skydive Long Island. We usually rent a car, but cost of it is adding up. We can take the train to meet up with people at a stop. This isn't a problem. It's still saving us money in the long run. We are decent guys who have gas money (always) and good conversation to offer (sometimes). So, let me know. We like to and want go every weekend. Thanks a lot. ** I've editted this to now include the actual location and the train remark, ** -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

that's actually a neat thing. i was introduced to it when i was sitting on the beach in san francisco last year and saw someone doing it. i think it would be to develop up canopy control, no? -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

i guess that's why there aren't more of them or home grown. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

A friend of mine is curious about how much it cost to build a wind tunnel. I'm curious if anyone has any knowledge about it? He's guessing 100k. Me, I'm just all ears. Not, saying I"m going to build one , but... -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

Yes, I understand that when the wind is blowing quite fast, it's not good to jump in. But, I just wanted to jump!

If it were only that simple. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

Yeah, I can see that. I don't want to land in the Ocean or the Long Island sound or the LI Expressway, all of which are NOT too far away from the place. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

My dropzone is on Long Island. I've got the Ocean and the Long Island Sound to deal with. Sorry, you've only got a few monthes to have some fun with. I hope this hurricane nonsense isn't going to effect my weather up here! I know it sounds cold, and that I should wish the people in the Hurricane Zones well, (and I do) but it's budding into my fun! :) OH, I forgot to mention, it was absolutely beautiful outside. Not a cloud in the sky anywhere! -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

I used to love the wind. It was nice. It was relaxing and soothing in a way. That was the way I felt until this past Sunday when we were told we weren't jumping because the winds exceeded 14mph. And I was so supposed to go for my first AFP class!! Well, I was going to do 3 or 4. But still. It's like an itch that you can't scratch or that just won't go away when you scratch the crap out of it. Just venting. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

Sounds like a blast. But, every party needs pizza and beer! I wonder if they deliver up there? Either way. Congrats! Sto lat! Na zdrowie. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

Introduction and some newbie questions
Skyliber replied to EricGleason's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I don't know if you saw this part of this website. But, they have a list of NY dropzones in New York and some people wrote a review about them. http://www.dropzone.com/dropzone/North_America/United_States/New_York/index.html here is the link. i'm new too and over in Brooklyn. My dz for now is Sky Dive Long Island. Probably a little far for you, but the jumpers and instructors are really cool and yet very professional when it comes to it. Have a great time doing it where ever! -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=- -
Wingsuits are so yesterday...
Skyliber replied to outlawphx's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I don't think anyone post this link yet. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=3887 or http://www.skydivingmovies.com and do a search for Phoenix-Fly Wingsuit Weekend @ Empuriabrava. looks like fun. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=- -
When I fly, I think the only way to fly is with Bristish Airways. I think their customer service and attendants are top notch and everything is just so pleasant. I use them whether I fly to England, Poland, or anywhere else in Europe or that side of the world. Plus, I was(am) studying to be a pilot and I would love work for them! It's funny you noticed it. What kind of instrument do you play? -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

Favorite one-liners or routine for tandem interviews.

My friend's TM said during the freefall a few seconds before he pulls said " What's this do?" -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=- -
Thanks for the input. I know hand signals are very important. I'll remember them until the day I... well... But, I was more curious if people joke around about them sometimes. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

Even if a jumpless expert piped in their expert opinions, I wouldn't write it in stone. Just as a comment someone made on a dropzone forum. Plus, I'm in no mood or hurry to cause accidents or injurie s or be part of one just myself. But, I know there are some crazy people in this world, so reading about people stories can help in a way. Thanks. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-
