The question is meant to be vague. Just wanted some general input on the question. Some people will have different opionions and answers, I know. I just like input. I'll be talking to my instructor on Sunday, providing that the weather is good. We've been having some crazy weather over here in New York City and Long Island. But, thanks for your input. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

NO NO NO. This is just a question. It never happened to me. I was just curious, what if it ever did happen to someone. The JM or instructor I have, wouldn't dare do something like that. ** additional to original reply ** I am just curious if people do that and if so? I'm new to the sport, so I want to find out a lot of stuff. I'm like a sponge looking for information. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

Heres an interesting question for a newbie to wonder... So, someone gives you the hand sign to pull your ripcord at like 8000 feet or something, and so you do. When you get back down to earth, you go question the guy/girl and they were just have a joke with you. What would you do? Is this a violation in skydiving 'moral code' to joke around with someone like that, or does it actually violate a USPA code? Thanks for the input! -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

Music that we think of before / after jumping
Skyliber replied to dreamsville's topic in The Bonfire
Well, I haven't had many jumps yet well, 2, in fact so far (until this weekend, going to pump out all my lessons). But, on my drive over to the airport, I've got some nice EBM, Industrial, DeathRock music giong on. Just the high energy stuff. Gets me in a good mood, so I am not going to be starting the good mood once I get there. But, I'm sure, once I start jumping and really good at it, I'll be rocking the iPod. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=- -
I'm quite new to the sport, but from what I hear, beer is the answer to celebrate. I'll take a nice Polish brew, if you don't mind. Congrats! I'll be there someday and I'll buy some people some brews. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=-

When a parachute opens in the airplane...
Skyliber replied to Skyliber's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
thanks for responding. it's more of a general question. believe me, i'm not looking for this to happen to me or anyone. i'm going to take most of this with a grain of salt and then later talk to my instructor for more clarification, but that will be on saturday. just curious, if it does start to hope, it can be a hazard to the safety of everyone in the airplane regardless if you are a student or your jump order? thanks again. -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=- -
When a parachute opens in the airplane...
Skyliber replied to Skyliber's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What happens when a parachute opens inside an airplane? During my AFP course, my instructor said (if i remember correctly) 1. it might just pop but nothing will happen. 2. it will start to inflate and we have to contain it 3. they are going to throw you out of the airplane because it could endanger everyone. is 3 really true? I ask, because I am argueing with a co-worker who says it's impossible that the parachute will open like that. let me fill you in on my 'co-worker', he's only done one tandem and he thinks he knows everything. i have gone on two tandems and took that 6 hour course. *shrugs* i'm not mr. know it all, but i want to know, if it happens, what will happen. thanks ~b -=+ Skyliber, Disynthegrate, & Nucleaire +=- -
The place has two lengthy runaways that are parrallel and are in the form of an L. They have a lot of great places to land so you don't have to worry all that much on making your landings precise, because you could panic and injury yourself trying to make them perfect. You don't here because there is a lot of Outs. This way you just practice on your landings in comfort. Great staff and instructors. They even have a 9 hole golf course on the green because the runway and the taxiways. They go to 13,500. On nice days, you can see for miles as you fall. Being that it's on Long Island, you have the jet airway/vector ways going down the island. So, you might have to wait or not just as high.
