  1. Yeah.....we looked that up too. Was kind of hoping someone could somehow break into the Dreamhost servers and figure out who this squatter is. Anyone know someone who works there? Maybe I will try to find someone on LinkedIn and get friendly with them. ......or maybe we will just cross our fingers and hope it becomes available in Dec. '09
  2. My father just saw the clip on comcast.net and then surfed over to FU.org. He called me and wanted to know who the instructor was who only had 2 wingsuit jumps: Tony Uragallo WSI# 2 D- Skydives-8000 + Wingsuit Skydives- just 2 Wingsuit Type- Raptor/ SM1, XS7
  3. and by the way....I want to know who the fucker is who is squatting on flockuniversity.com. The ".org" really sux. I will buy anyone 2 jumps if you sleuth this out for me.
  4. P-head, weed-eater string......brilliant.
  5. Finch, although it is OK to use a shoe lace for practicing do not use a shoe-lace for a rig you are going to jump. There was a fatality in the past few years when someone who had used a shoe lace for a pack job had the plastic tip (the "aglet") come off the shoe lace and get jammed in the closing loop. Horseshoe malfuntion was the end result. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aglet
  6. I think you should go to Empuriabrava in Spain.....large DZ, not too bad of a flight, and plenty to do in Madrid. http://www.skydiveempuriabrava.com
  7. Scotty, an 8X10 would be great. Also, PM me about what it would cost to get a big one for the Bird House (like the size of the ones you made up at the boogie). Blues, Steve P.S COLD Blues here in Bawston!
  8. Just got the January Skydiving....nice pics! Scotty, I think I will have to order the shot over the lake on page 16. sweet.
  9. Balloons are scheduled for the Everglades Boogie in Clewiston. Last year was a blast. They had helicopters and tailgates as well. Balloons are relatively common at big boogies. Check ads online or in Skydiving publications. You can also search in this forum and you will see posts every now and then about Ballloon jumps..... http://www.skydivefl.com/Everglades.htm
  10. This would be a great episode for COPS http://www.tcpalm.com/news/2008/dec/17/port-st-lucie-police-seek-warrant-alleged-beater-g/
  11. LOL.....found the same list supposedly about Qantas: http://www.rb-29.net/HTML/03RelatedStories/03.10.FunStuff/17.Qantas.htm ...and about U.S. Air Force and other airlines
  12. This phrase: "It is far better being down here wishing you were up there than being up there wishing you were down here". In other words...know your limits. If you don't feel safe, for whatever reason, don't jump. And as a prior poster said, read the SIM. Read, learn, and ask questions (hopefully from a competent instructor).
  13. I have had the same thing with a large electronics order. I wanted to ship to an alternative address but the shipper said they needed to cross-reference my credit card info with my home address. This was a few years ago and the person I spoke with did not say they were using a particular service....just that they were checking all the info I gave them.
  14. ...also just checked the DZ.com stolen gear listing (which I forgot about) and didn't see anything that matched
  15. Couple of things.......the ad is riddled with errors. "AOD ready", "out of date main", he called it a "Vector Pack Tray", and the fact that he mentioned "with rip cord pillows". And the big red flag that says he is not a skydiver is the way he spelled skydivers in the title of his ad "SKY DIVERS". So......NOT a jumper. The guy has recently posted a snowboard and GPS as well. He does include home and cell phone numbers which appear legit. His e-mail address traces back to the same name, number, and address as a reverse telephone look up. I guess you could contact him and ask him how he acquired the rig. I did a quick seach on uspa's stolen list link and did not see anything that looked like this rig. If it is stolen you have all the contact info to give the police.
  16. Not anymore in Massachusetts! We got smart and decriminalized posession of small quantities of weed.
  17. There is also Skydive New England in Lebanon Maine which is only 90 miles from Boston (~ same as Jumptown) and is easy to get to. They also have a Twotter. All 3 are great DZ's...if you have time visit them all!
  18. I wonder if the Tuba incident was in the running
  19. ....a lot of us have...on the forum in multiple threads and in private e-mails and PM's.
  20. Riccardo and I were talking about this last night at the Pepperell X-Mas Party....the high altitude beach jumps were the best jumps of the boogie! We did them two days in a row and they kicked ass. We were a little conservative to be safe but we went out a few miles perpendicular to the shoreline and then flew back. Twas a great way to start a good day of jumping.
  21. That's what credit cards or home equity loans are for! Do it.....definitely worth it.
  22. First of all.....are you really 15? Writing in complete sentences and with punctuation.....impressive! Anyway, wingsuiting is amazing and is the reason I still skydive. My one suggestion is not to rush into wingsuiting too fast. Become a competent and safe skydiver with good overall skills and you will have a much better time in a wingsuit. Some people are ready at 200 jumps and some are not. Here are a couple cool websites with some wingsuit pics and video to satiate your wingsuit appetite until then: http://www.matthoover.com/ http://www.sky2productions.com/ Enjoy
  23. I was on Bill's trip to the Pole in 1994. It was an incredible experience that was a highlight of my jumping career. I highly highly recommend this trip for anyone interested in going. Jumping over the top of the world is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity.....and hey, it is about a third of the cost of the Everest jump!
