  4. $3.09 is Kentucky. It's killing me, I drive 164 mile just to and from work everyday. That's not including any other driving I may do. I'm spending over $500 a month just on gas. If I stand on my tip toes, I can see the weekend from here!

  8. Okay, as most of you already know, I DID IT!!! I made my 30 jumps for my 30th birthday on my birthday nonetheless. Here is a break down of how it all went. I made 20 jumps within the first 3 1/2 hours (that includes a 45 min break) I had 4 rigs and 2 awesome packers!!! My exit altitude was between 2000' and 2500'. At about jump 16/17 I was getting pretty tired. My legs had no strength to stand up and my arms had no strength to hold the flair. So yes, that means that some of my last few landing were not looking to pretty. (no injuries, just a pride thing). So anyway, I make 29 jumps and then decide to wait for most of my friends that could make it arrive so we could do a formation load. But the clouds were setting in and was looking like rain. So I took the 6 friends that were there and could jump up on a 6-way BFR. Of course I was part of the "base"(to tired to fly my body) and it pulled out nicely. Once we were in the BFR everyone gave me a kiss pass to congrats me. THANKS GUYS, that was awesome!!!! IF it wasn't for all the support not only from my friends at the dz but on here as well I'm not sure if I would have gone on with all 30 jumps. So I want to say thank you to all of you for everything. You guys are the best!!!! Love you all, ~Mar

  12. Some stuff about Kevin that some of you may not have known. This was published in the local paper. Kevin was employed by Tony Roma's in Lexington, KY. He was a founding member of the "Castaways" with George Wolfford and Warren Cobb. He served in the 82nd Airborne and was a passionate skydiver, pilot and videographer, recording more than 600 jumps and forging friendships around the country. A memorial skydiving jump is being planned. Visit www.skydiveky.com for information on this "Blue Skies" tribute. Donations in his memory to Big Brothers Big Sisters would be appreciated. Published in the Lexington Herald-Leader on 4/21/2007. If I stand on my tip toes, I can see the weekend from here!

  16. Hello, yeah this place is awesome! Good to see your still into this sport. You should head over to the bonfire and chat with some of the craziest peeps ever over there. That should put a smile on your face.
  17. Welcome to the sport. And congrats on completing your AFF Now you get to jump solo, how cool is that?! It sounds like you're on your way to becoming a jump whore like the rest of us. And I don't think you need any luck! Just remember what you were taught in your training and you'll do just fine. If you find yourself needing some help with some of the maneuvers, ask someone to do a coach jump with you. Just relax and enjoy the ride! If I stand on my tip toes, I can see the weekend from here!
  18. Welcome Sharky!!! The fun is just starting! The more you advance in this sport the more and more you can gain from it. Not only in the sky but with all the new friends that come along with it. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. But remember, your instructor is the best person to ALWAYS ask first. He or she knows more about you then we do. Again, welcome to the sport! Blue and safe skies, Mar If I stand on my tip toes, I can see the weekend from here!
  19. Josh, one thing you will learn in skydiving is this,... skydiving is all about hanging around your new friends and family and having a blast everytime you see them. The jumping is just an awesome bonus. if you don't understand what I mean by this, lets just say its already started in this thread you posted.
