Like several have said... It varies state-by-state. And, as Icon pointed out, an out-of-state expired license could give the cop reason to "hang around" longer I'm AD AF and have been questioned several times by cops about my expired license (most recently 3-weeks ago)... My issuing state allows it. BTW: I don't think your Shirt will know the answer. He/She will more likely tell you to contact your issuing state. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

anybody jumpin a "nitro" or kno anyfin bout them!
HALO1 replied to baconwings's topic in Gear and Rigging
I jump both a Nitro and CF2. And as stated, the Nitro is NOT a canopy for someone at 50 jumps. Additionally, it is NOTHING like the Spectre. Highly encourage you to discuss this issue with your instructor. We don't want to be reading about you in the Incidents Forum. As for specific flight and packing characteristics... discuss with your instructor. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that. -
Yeah... Good show. As L-Diamond mentioned, it is edited a bit. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

Panic-Button... Did you used to live in Vegas (Nellis/RED HORSE)? Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

Where to get various colored collapsible PC's?
HALO1 replied to dfairleigh11's topic in Gear and Rigging
The folks at Sunrise (Wings) made me a specific color/size PC. No print, just solid color. Give Ankie a call... Great customer service. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that. -
DSE's comments are spot on. My home DZ (PISC) for past few years. With your experience and jump numbers, should not be a problem. As always, a thorough DZ brief will round out the details. The only thing not mentioned was the south "Kona" winds. It's that time of year again and when they start, even the most experienced Hawaii jumpers stay grounded. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

I also have a Deepseed... Great freefly suit. Not as flashy as my LiquidSky, but every bit as good. The price and service can't be beat. Drop Liam a note at Deepseed Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

Funny stuff... Jack came out to our DZ in Hawaii about 2 months back and made a jump with a few of us. Well, not really "with us"... since he only had about 20 jumps we all gave him some space. However, his landing was pretty sketchy considering he's never jumped in Hawaiian Trade Winds. Yeah... Adrenaline Junky Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

From one AF guy to another... Congrats. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

29 Palms huh... Nice place. I've done a few jumps there with Force and provided Pathfinder "services" to the Anglico folks. I've taken my share of "random" urinalysis. I don't ever recall a single person in my units being popped (too much to lose I suppose). However, I've seen other AF (yup, I'm AF) folks test positive and it's typically an automatic discharge in the AF. Enjoy EOD... A fine bunch of guys! Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

2007 Black and Gold Interservice Competition
HALO1 replied to HALO1's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Folks - The Knights have posted the Black & Gold info and registration on their web site. http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/goldenknights/Webpage2005_content.html Hey - A question since I haven't been before; is it JUST 4 & 8 way or can attendees also just jump i.e. freefly, wingsuit, etc. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that. -
2007 Black and Gold Interservice Competition
HALO1 replied to HALO1's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Gimp... Thanks for the info. Last year they had a form on their web site that they asked be faxed in. Didn't know if they were going to do the same this year. Also, you couldn't be on leave (TDY or Permissive). I fly a Rawa with no quick release. Will a home made quick release suffice? Damn, didn't know about that little rule. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that. -
Kevin - I'm a regular at Pacific (PISC). We almost never miss a weekend (and hit the occasional weekday... I've been there for the last 9 days). Both companies at Dillingham are very accommodating to fun jumpers. Pacific flies the King Air (and we now do high altitude jumps) and Skydive Hawaii flies the Caravan. The obvious big plus is excellent weather year round... not to mention the view from 14K. Yeah, we're spoiled rotten Drop me a line if you have specific questions. I'll be glad to help with info, contacts, etc. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

2007 Black and Gold Interservice Competition
HALO1 replied to HALO1's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Anybody have info on this years Black and Gold Interservice Competition? Should be 9-12 Nov at Laurinburg Airport close to Reaford. Any Knights on/viewing the forums know when/if the application will be posted? Many thanks. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that. -
Not really. Just us local jumpers and any tourists that happen to be around. But, the weather is always outstanding!! Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

Chicks Rock Boogie at Skydive Elsinore Oct. 12-14th
HALO1 replied to curtismelaniej's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Alright... Going to fly out from Hawaii and attend my first Chicks Rock. Just curious... any specialty aircraft i.e. sky van, balloon, etc.? Don't be sexist… Broads hate that. -
What Lou said... Some of us actually jump the real thing. Pretty roomy tailgate platform Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

Shit... I'm AF. Need to check this one out ASAP. BTW... CONGRATS. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

Where is the cheapest place in the world to skydive?
HALO1 replied to Kiakambala's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm with Scoop... The military. Although tough to freefly with standard rig (unless you have non-standard waiver ) and relative work is not really done unless you've been through the closed course . $225 a month to jump C-130s, CASAs, etc., sure, why not. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that. -
Agree with Floats. Mine has been on continously for a long time (we jump year round) with many hundreds of jumps... battery is still at full power. I would recommend manual off for commercial flights and during off season... If you have one. Otherwise, leave it on. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

BTW: I went with LiquidSky and couldn't be happier. Julio's customer service and product are tops. Going to try a pair of light weight freefly pants from Deepseed next. It's getting a bit warm on the islands now, especially when the "trades" slow/stop... I know, poor us and our horrible jumping conditions Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.
-
Quite true... Chuck has moved on to "other things". We live and jump just a few miles from him (see him from time-to-time) and no luck getting new items from him. Too bad, really first rate products. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

Stratostar - It's been said multiple times already, but what a fantastic and timely post. And, your OP is going up on our DZ bulletin board tomorrow. You should think about making a trip out to Hawaii... You'd fit in great around here. We have 4-5 "long timers" who "pay it forward" every weekend. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.

Airborne - Welcome to the islands. You'll need some currency training (see link in Mod's reply). Also, if you haven't jumped in Hawaii before there are additional considerations i.e. winds, proximity to water, limited outs, etc. Most up-jumpers jump at both companies at Dillingham and regardless of what the reviews say, both treat up-jumpers very well. Also, "Hump Day" summer sunset loads have started again at SDH. Always a good time. Once you've knocked out your currency jumps/training, give me a shout (or PM), I'll be glad to jump with you. Don't be sexist… Broads hate that.
