Well... if it isn't my choice I'll just be pissed that I paid $300.00 per season to have an AAD... deal with it and go by something else. I still have the choice to not wear one but I believe that`s a risk I am not willing to take.

From I read ... 3 problems and 33 saves that's 14% failure and 86% success from actual cases.

We've seen before that new AADs unfortunately don't come out working perfectly the first time. So why would people by them? I can say that I bought an Argus a couple years ago because I was broke and it was 40% less than a Cypress. For me a cheaper AAD was better than no AAD. For my next rig I'll probably by a Cypress just to avoid any headaches, and can afford it now. You can’t just say don’t by this or that. You have to take in consideration the current financial situation of each one. I bet not everyone here drives cars with ABS, EPS ,TPS , winter tires...... It's a choice what we can afford for safety. One answer that hasn't been clear to me is... For those who have an Argus now, is it safer to keep it in or out. From what I understood the issue is that if it fires and doesn't cut it you are F&^%. For me if it fires it’s because I couldn't pull.... that gives me 86 % chance of opening (3 issues/ 22 saves) Is it as good as others out there... no... but will do for me until I replace it or it gets figured out? Yes… I understand why manufactures are banning it... no one wants to have their ass in the line when lawyers start calling. Aviacom hasn’t said anything publically so why should the manufactures take the heat? I see all this as being evolution.... we learn from this and apply to the future. And if it wasn't for competition who knows what Cypress would charge for it and less people would be able to afford it... wouldn’t that make it unsafe?

I have been using one this season and it works great. I only had one issue with it. The inside face is not flat and I have a 2k fuzion with zkulls connectors. The cage come set for a flat lock from Cookie. It didn't take much to machine an adapter and drill new holes.

I did a couple Mr Bills.... that are not hard if you get someone that did it before to help. I did an IAD from seating at the step, and the other guy sitting on my lap... helmets are a very good idea. The first time I used a Manta, the second a Silhouette 210.... go with a big canopy. Both Mr Bills we climbed to the shoulders. A big canopy will make a smoother ride.

I edit movies from imovie direct to a dvd. I don't have edited files. But I keep every tape. I label them by date range. If someone calls for it, manifest can give me when they have jumped. I started keeping all pictures too. When of if they can I request an e-mail with a picture

How do you label your DVDs for customers?
brwonder replied to WatchYourStep's topic in Photography and Video
With lightscribe you can pre-print a full label and only print the name at the time of the editing. Just a name it won't take much time 5-6 mins for a nice and dark print. Also watch which brands you buy. I tried several until I found a good one. I use CDs for the pics from TDK... nice and dark prints for DVDs I still haven't found a good one... I have been using HPs but I am not impressed with it. I've been through Memorex, Verbatim, and a couple more that I can't remember. My next try will be Philips. Most stores don't carry much of a selection what doesn't help. I don't have much of a problem because a work in a very small DZ.... burning the full prints takes me 22mins each... I do that during the week and stock up. I always keep 20-30 printed discs. My computers are not very fast so I ran the lightscribe on this old laptop with an external burner... and edit the video on a Mac G4 tower..... I did take a while to get proficient on it.... I have to label a CD and a DVD, burn the pics and edit the movie...... in 15mins because we are so small I do have some room for delays if I forget something... -
I'm in a small DZ in Alberta, Canada and we have been using the Tandem progression (TAFF) for a couple years. We have been very successful with it. The TI is also a PFF instructor (Canadian version of AFF). I believe the main reason it has been working for us is because our instructor is very capable. On small business perspective the TAFF can be valuable safe tool. On the other hand it does create a constraint, because now your TI is also an instructor. Limiting the number of tandems.
