what kind of constructiveness you expected? I'm really curious to hear an answer. I agreee... What exactly did you expect to hear? I mean look at the title of your OWN thread, which YOU posted. You obviously know that you went against the recomended/manufacturer mandated (birdman) suggestions. What did you expect people to say?

haha...yes this is funny... see attached

sigh.... A question about VX openings turns into a discussion about how to pack a saber and wingloadings....

It seems that its foam... http://www.skysystemsusa.com/helmets/HelmetSizing.htm ... Vapor Camera Helmets. The vapor series of camera helmets comes with padding that can be inserted or removed. When fitting the helmet, it should be padded so that your chin comes all the way forward into the chin cup. A tighter fit in the helmet means less movement on your head.

I used to have similar problems... I have almost and identical video of your, but mine ended in a chop. Its nice when the dive helps you get out of it, instead of twisting you more (like mine did)! How are you dumping? Full flight? Or are you a collapse wings and arms guy? I collapse everything to dump. What I found I wasn't doing (Scott Campos suggested) that I was not keeping my knees together as well as my feet. Now I take special care to keep my feet AND knees together throughout deployment. Since that suggestion, I have not had a single problem... I would rather concentrate on even harness input through the opening instead of working the zips. You can reach your mudflaps while still zipped, and you can use those to straighten your risers if you must (I have). BTW...Stiletto 120 loaded at 1.6ish

I guess a quick question to those who know... What is the life expectancy of a reserve being flown as a main? Typically how long does PD or others leave these Reserve demos in their fleet? I don't immagine they would wear any differently, but just curious since it wasn't designed as a cannopy to be used everyday/every jump...

No matter what I am doing with the rest of my gear, I always carry on my weight belt. Before I go through security, I warn them that "THIS IS WEIGHT FOR DIVING"....It is easier for them to understand diving weight than skydiving weight... Lead weight in your checked luggage is a GUARANTEE they will open your bag. Remember, x-rays CAN NOT see through lead, so they will open it every time. The less TSA handles my stuff the better! Just another reason I hate to travel with my gear...heavy heavy heavy

Just thought I'd let all you northern birds know its time to head south for the winter!! We are back to 7 days a week down here in Zhills! Chuckie, Jeff, Tony, and myself (phil if you don't recognize me) have been flying our asses off the past 2 days. We've been having georgous weather, light loads, and good parties the past few days. Most importantly to all you instructors out there, Tony has been prototyping his new student suit. Call it the Snow Angel (tony's idea), the Devil (Aargus AAD reps idea), or the Flaptor (Jeffs idea), or whatever, it is cool! To prove the concept will work, they used a new Raptor and removed all the stiching below where the harness enters the suit. Relying soley on pressurization to keep the wing inflated. What this accomplished was to give full range of motion under cannopy, all WITHOUT unzipping anything. Flown on the belly or on it's back, the suit performed well. It maintained a good forward speed and good fall rate range. Of course the actual student suit will be a smaller wing, but these flights proved it could be done, and done well. Just thought I'd update all of you on the fun times down in florida

Whats up with Perris and skydivingmovies.com?
peggs82 replied to martin-o's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You know, I think you all may have it wrong here... Perhaps Perris just had one really big blow out night of debauchery, and skydiving movies was just telling them how it feels!! right?...anyone?? -
Phil here... I second everything Chuck said about XP... man it just blew my mind. I just know that GREAT things are going to come out of this tunnel with the AWESOME staff that has been put together! That chamber was just enormous!! Room like you wouldn't believe. The facility itself is just going to be phenominal when finished. The video system available while still in the tunnel will be a huge training aide. I am very gratetful to Tim D'Annunzio for allowing me to fly. No way to say thank you enough! This week did not suck!!
