Thank you! Thank you! :) There is not enough darkness in the World to extinguish the light of one small candle

Thanks! I printed and put in my Oahu folder. :) There is not enough darkness in the World to extinguish the light of one small candle

Hey All! I'll be heading to Oahu for a week of skydiving and play. Never been. Very excited to jump there. Who's been to that DZ? I may or may not be taking a rig - do they have rentals? Is it friendly? A tandem factory? Also - any ideas on where to hike, empty beaches, good margaritas, luau's would be appreciated! Otherwise...happy jumping! HEY GIRLS! Is this a newcomer friendly event? I'm B licensed, but I have ZERO girl skydiving friends....they're all males. There is not enough darkness in the World to extinguish the light of one small candle -

At my early, early stage in this beautiful sport, I'm like a sponge soaking up all the details, thoughts, ideas, opinions, tips related to skydiving. What books do you guys suggest I read that would be useful? Informative? Helpful? Entertaining? I am looking for a few good books on skydiving to help me get through the weeks, while I'm daydreaming of my weekend jumps. Thank you - - - and ... enjoy the sky! Listening to music when you jump? would it work?
Ms.A replied to FlyingJarhead's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I took my ipod on a jump about a month ago. I had the perfect song chosen and was totally excited to try it out. I pushed play the second before I exited. It was disappointing. During freefall I couldn't hear a thing. Once I was safely under canopy I was fiddling with the ear piece and whatnot. It seems like there are songs that speak to you like skydiving does, but truly - the sound of the wind beating my ears, and the whistling of silence under canopy is just as rad. 2 cents delivered!
