looking for video of rear riser stalls helicopter
mutron replied to mutron's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
thanks for the tips... sounds like I need to get my hands on a copy of Keen and able...... ps DougH the helicopter is basically a rear riser stall however you once the canopy reaches the stall point you let up slightly on one riser which allows one side of the wing to inflate slightly -spinning you around... please take this definition with a grain of salt ... maybe one of veterans could give more of a technical definition...I will say this, I am having a hell of a good time pitching at altitude and experimenting, any other tips or tricks a rookie could ad to the tool bag would be much appreciated -
looking for video of rear riser stalls helicopter

hey I was wondering if anyone knows where to locate and download some good footage of helicopter spins and canopy stalls. Ive already searched skydivemov..com and could not locate what I was after thanks -
hey guys.... I am cosidering buying a used silhouette 170 dom 1997 - with I guess less than a hundred jumps on it ... I know a 9 year old canopy with less than a hundred jumps on it ... however I had a rigger inspect it and he seems to believe by the condition of the canopy that it has anywhere from 25-50 jumps on it ... my question is are there any real differences in the fabrics and design of a silhouette made in 1997 from one that is produced today.. and say if I did buy the canopy and put 200 jumps on it what would you consider a fair price for resale value... and would it be hard to resale.... I would be loading the canopy around 1:1 with 50 jumps and from what Ive read it would a good first canopy.... the gentleman who is selling it wants a 1000 which I fell is a little high andy advice apprediated

Thanks guys for all the advice I appreciate it .... I ended up offering the lady $500 for the rig and she said ok.... So I bought it.... I figure in another week or so I should have enough cash to buy a main..... I agree the current main is way to big for the container.... I figure in three or four months I should have enough to buy a new container, reserve and AAD.. so I think it all worked out ok...I guess my real concern now is how safe the reserve is ... if the rigger looked at and said it was ok.. I trust his opinion however what do you guys think... oh yea and what do you think about the reserve flap... should I be concerned about a premature if I was to flip - roll - lay on back etc.... any advice appreciated

I actually had a chace to go look at the rig in question today.... The rig is being sold by a friend and co-workers sister.... After picking the rig up and taking it out to my home dz. I had the a certified rigger inspect it - he said it was a good deal .... After further talking to the sister I figured out what happened.. she was just getting in to the sport when she lost a group of friends in a plane crash... She was unable to continue jumping after that... so she bagged up the gear and stored it in a closet ....for the past twelve years... I guess where my concern lies is in the safety of the rig... as i stated the rig is in great condition however I would like to get the opinions of fellow jumpers who have experience with these particular models ....is there any mods that would help with the reserve tabs and what would you say the selling value of this rig would be if I was to buy it and re-sell it thanks

I am considering buying this setup for my first rig .... * Javelin - J3 container - less than 75 jumps - no stains - looks brand new - seems and tabs are in great shape -metal housings - pillow cutaway DOM 1994. Comfortable Raven 3 Main - 175 DOM 1990 75 jumps - still bright - fabric good - lines are in good shape Paraflight Swift Plus - 175 reserve 1 ride - DOM 1994 AAD - cypress 1 DOM 1994 - bummer Acessories - -Altimaster 3 - like new -Larsen and Brusard - basic one tone dytter - still in package - never opened -2 pair of kroops goggles - good shape - Gear bag Selling all for $1500 I have brought the package to my home DZ and he says its a good deal and I should buy it ....... however I would like to get some opinions on how much it is going to cost me to have a boc installed. I would also like to know of any other modifications that can be done to the container that would help keep the reserve flap closed.... I say this because while I am a newcomer to the sport and all my jumps up until this point have focused on the fundamentals.... should I be concerned fliping - rolling - backflying - and eventually learning to sit ---------researching through other threads there seems to be some mixed opinions --- please could someone shed some light..... Weight 175 - out the door Currently flying a sillouette 210, however will be moving down to a 190 next weekend... will put 25 jumps on that canopy before moving down ... oh yea - what doe you guys think about the re-sale value - how much should I expect to get back if sold after a couple of seasons .. also if the cypress is sent back to manufactuer and tested would i still be able to use it if it tested good even though it is out of date ... I would only use for a short period of time until I could buy a new one ..... thanks for any advice
