3 days later the cortisone shot I got is turning my life around. My shoulder feels so much better. a few more days and I can start focusing on the gym again. Finally. I didn't think my shoulder would ever stop hurting and I was going to have to live with this pain day to day. It has been a while. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I went to my Doc last night, weigh 252 now, and got an appointment with an ortho for my shoulder! Almost fixed and back to where I was before Thanksgiving! Feels good to be back on track. 255lbs as of today! I started at 275 in August, lost 30 lbs in 110 days (245lbs), gained back 20 lbs between thanksgiving and christmas (265 lbs), and just lost 10 of those 20 I gained back in less than a week! Phew that was a rough week but I ran a steady mile at 5.5 mph today and it felt good so I feel like I'm truly back in the game. The tunnel time is so close I can feel it. Thank you very much! I wish my gym had a pool. BUT my gym is free so I can't complain. Fuck fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck. Well since I was overly depressed because I tore something in my shoulder and haven't really been able to lift anything for over a month, almost got fired from my job so coulnd't spend any time working out at the only gym I can, and ate like an asshole for the past month because I was depressed about the whole thing I gained a ton of weight. I worked out for 40 min today and am watching what I eat again but I got tunnel time for Christmas and don't feel like I deserve to use it yet. So like I said above fuck fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck. At least my wife agreed to have me leave for work an hour early so I can at least get an hour of cardio in until my Dr. apt on the 1/7 to get my shoulder checked out and find out if I need surgery. A buddy of mine is an officer on a HUGE US flagged container ship. The skipper loves to fish. They poured on a little speed to arrive a few hours early off the Kona coast and believe it or not managed to hook and land a yellowfin tuna from the ship! Honest question, was this DZ on the verge of closing down? In that case, sure, anyone who wants to keep the ball rolling is a good thing. The problem in this case is that once the prince decides that skydiving is 'old news', what happens to the DZ? Along the same lines, what if some sort of power-shift or political events puts his fortune at risk? The problem with those deep pockets is that they are indeed very deep. What that means is that his life and fortune don't rely on the DZ succeeding, like it would for an 'average' DZO. Those guys have the need and the drive to make the DZ survive against all odds, where this guy could buy and sell the place in his sleep, and it wouldn't bother his bottom line to shut the place down and liquidate all the assests at a loss. An average DZO would try to avoid this as he would be down a huge pile of money, maybe all their equity in the DZ, but the prince doesn't have that sort of concern. So if the place was going to close, it's on borrowed time anyway, and it's great that anyone would keep it running. In any other case, the ownership has been transfered to a relative 'new guy' in the sport, who has no financial pressures to keep the place open, and that puts the DZ on shakey ground. Excellent point and I didn't look at it like that. Hopefully this all turns out for the good, the prince doesn't have ADD, and Empuriabrava stays as awesome as I hear it is.

I think it's pretty cool that he is spending as much as he is on our sport. I would love to jump at Skydive Dubai. The view alone must be pretty awesome. Plus the digs are pretty plush. However I think he needs to open new DZ's up in crazy locations instead of buying out other dropzones Like say... Antarctica. Or if a DZ is going to close for lack of funds coming in why wouldn't we want it bought out by a higher power?
