Mirage G4 - what do you think about it?

Yep I do like it very much! It would be my first choice if price is about the same as Javelin Odyssey or Micron. I like the way how it design and very modern. Material are really great quality. I did some jumps on demo G3 rig with Sabre 2 170ft². When I tried it on and it's really comfortable. Under canopy - it's still so comfortable. I like freefly handle - brilliant secure but you might need a strong arm to pull it out and dump! Something I don't like about it - None. I tried to find it but seem that I can't. Some don't like it cos it's ugly but I thought it was best look rig. I don't like tye dye very much though - I reckon it'll be ugly if it has some! -

Sound like you prefer Mirage than any other rigs. And you already made your decision and GO FOR MIRAGE! It's nothing wrong with it really. It's secure, freefly friendy, safe rig anyway. We just gave you our opinion and it didn't change your mind, did it? -

You should have try www.air-supply.co.uk. This dealer offer PD Reserve for under £700! PD Reserve 126 was about £670 and PD Reserve 143 was about £685. Also Javelin Odyssey with fully loaded - £1185! You can't go wrong with Air-Supply. -

Pro - Better than G3 I reckon. Con - it's F***ING HELL expensive! No way I'll order it for £1400 for a basic rig or £1950 for a rig with fully loaded! That is not include dye-tie! I just recieved a quote from Point Zero dealer (UK). -
Oops! I didn't read through first before I posted this message. Well seem that you already covered it!

Yeah I saw it. It was by Sunpath because Sebastain XL come to Sibson for 4 way coaches. Seb XL is sponsoring by Sunpath. I saw Peter Allum, John McIver and Rob Stevenson packed their chute in this totally rubber band free D-bag. Lucky them cos we still end up with sore fingers! I'm not sure if it's open for anyone who want it. Why don't you contact Sunpath about it and come back to us?

Tandem passanger's reaction?
deaffreeflyer replied to deaffreeflyer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Few months ago, a tandem instructor and a passenger was about to landed toward pea gravel pit and I just landed and was in the way. A passenger yelled at me "MOVE MOVE MOVE GET OUT OF THE WAY!" but I didn't hear anything. I picked my canopy up, walked away and noticed a cameraflyer filmed standing in front / left of me - about 4m away. I knew that he was filming a tandem jump then I realised they were about to landed. He didn't warned me at all - no signals at all. I looked around behind me and saw them coming toward to me so quickly. I just managed to jump out of the way and duck but they landed and missed me by 1m away. I got close to them and gave them some helps. I saw this passanger and never saw something like this before. He was so frightened and shaked. His face looked so white / plain with real wide open eyes like he just saw a ghost. He muttered and asked Mark (tandem instructor) "Why didn't he get out of the way?". Mark and a cameraflyer laughed their ass off and said "Because he's deaf!". I felt so sorry for passanger because I don't think he didn't find it very amusing! I don't think he'll jump again. I heard a story happened at a dropzone in UK, not sure if it's true. When a tandem just landed with reserve canopy and they walked back to packing shed. A passanger told instructor about he enjoyed the ride. Instructor was puzzled and told him "We just had a canopy malfunction, I had to get rid of it and used reserve canopy". Oh bless him he didn't realised he had a canopy malfunction! I can imagine how this passanger felt! I haven't see a tandem cutaway and reserve ride yet. I wonder if what passanger's like when he/she had their tandem malfunction, cutaway and reserve rides or something like this? Have you see anything like this? PS - forgive me for my English! Not my first language. -
I have heard few stories about really hard cutaway and found out about anti-twist tubes. I ordered a new riser with anti-twist tube straight away! It's worth spent for me. All I can say I really stong recommend you to buy it because it's lifesaver! It is a must have!

There are so many good rigs out there. Vector 3 Micron, Mirage G3 & G4, Javelin Odyssey, Wings, Teardrop Superfly, Atom Legend and Voodoo 2 are excellent. All of them are freefly friendly. All does have good and bad points but none are 100% perfect! Do some search posts - you'll find loads of information. Try those keywords:- container, micron, javelin etc... For me, I'm looking into Wings and Micron. Wings's price is so cheap and excellent secure/safe for freeflying. Micron, it's quite a narrow rig and top quality and so secure for freeflying - it might be good for me because I have a small shoulder.

I like Blue / Grey suit better. Try to be more creative - add white pinstripes between Blue and Grey. I can promise you it'll be looks so damn good!
-
Currently jumping:- Container - Javelin J1 Main - Safire 144ft² Reserve - Cricket 147ft² AAD - Cypres Hope to order a new container and reserve in 2 months time:- Container - Vector 3 Micron V310 or Wings Reserve - PD Reserve 143ft²

UK:- Sibson Headcorn Hibaldstow Langer Spain:- Empuriabrava USA:- Deland Lake Wales Space Center - didn't jumped due to windy Z-Hills - didn't jumped, picked my rig up there
-
My reserve is Cricket 147ft². It was made in 1992. It have been used 7 to 9 times and lots of re-packs. I wonder if it is time to ground it and get myself a new or used PD143?
-
Maybe you should try PM David Geffin - Newbie - he got his Teardrop from PISA. I think he got some helps by Hinton staffs cos most of them are South Africans. He tolds me it was totally nightmare bring it to UK to avoid custom fees etc...! I don't think he'll do it again in the future! Worth a try to contact him? If you didn't heard anything from him - let me know I'll contact him for you.

Or you could have done 250 jumps for those DVDs!
-
Wow that's a lot. I worked out how much it cost for all those DVDs. If you didn't buy them - you could earn yourself a new complete brand new rig!
-
hehehe oh stop it! my suit is far nothing like flyboyz's or Olav's cool suit!

don't forget you also have coffee cafes to spend a few hours in - good way to get stoned and time'll pass quickly! And it's LEGAL!
